2023-06-19Hey everyone. I'm on subsidy route in KKH, week 14. I always notice there is a "no recording and photo taking" sign in the ultrasound scanning room. I really wish to take video of the scan as I see many others have videos or at least pics of the moments. I do have the printed scan but it would be great is I could record the moments so I can look back on these great memories. If we are private patient in KKH, do they allow recording of the ultrasound with our phone? Or do they send us to the same room with the no recording sign. Or can this only be done in private hospitals. Not sure how it works. The next scan I have is the detailed anomaly scan at 20 weeks. #advicepls #firsttimemom #ultrasound

2023-06-19hi parents i am very very confused on my NUH bill firstly, i got a msg to pay $165.48 for my outstanding bill and then was told i have a credit bal of $1046, so i called up the billing dept and asked them to explain. then, she said i dont have to pay the $165.48 as it will be deducted from antenatal fees and regarding the credit bal, they will refund me after the finance side check and supposed to call me to explain the bill. so a week later which is today i check again the bill and suddenly the credit bal is missing....and nobody from their side called me to explain anything.... i thought i'm supposed to get a cheque back for that credit bal too.. pls help me i'm really confused. thank you

2023-06-19Hello all mamas, Im trying my best not to be so affected by having a small bump at 7 months (3rd trimester) but it’s quite hard not to especially when people either cannot tell I’m pregnant OR think I’m in 1st trimester. I think it makes it even more difficult when I see my friends (also FTM) who are also pregnant in the start of 2nd trimester having a bigger bump than me. When I asked my gynae about it, he said that baby is growing well. I’m glad to hear but yet confused as to why my bump is so small for 7 months. Some people say FTM and petite girls will be smaller. I also read that if you had a strong core before pregnancy then it will be smaller .. People also say good cos won’t have stretch mark and easier to lose weight. But Hor I WANNA feel preggy leh?? PROBLEM IS: I’m not petite (167cm and 70kg before preggy) and ya I mean obviously, no core muscle just flabbiness. Just needed to share my Sian-ness cos I only got 2 more months to feel preggy. 2023-06-19I'm not sure if most mummies in here like me,, soon to be mom of 4. My youngest is 4yrs old. I'm not the "lion" type of mom,, but once my children get into my nerve, I'm worst den a hulk. If they did something wrong or doesn't listen to me by the 3rd time, It get to my nerve spontaneously. I will scold and whack them. But after I cool myself down, I will cried so badly, I will call them and hugged them very tightly and while in tears,I will explained myself why I did that and I will apologize to them for doing that.
2023-06-19I’m 42, wife 39. We want to have a second child so that our first (3 1/2 years old) can have a sibling growing up. I’m ok with the extra effort and energy of taking care a second child but what I can’t handle is my wife’s emotional turmoil that potentially will happen. Sometimes when I see her handle the first, she gets upset and emotional and sometimes affects the child and me. It’s gets me really emotional too and it take a lot of effort to calm myself from extreme suicidal thoughts and separating to been grateful to her. She still very insistent to try for second one (via IVF for us) but a part of me is afraid that it will affect our me and eventually the marriage. People with more than 1 child, does it get worse? Should we go for it and hope for the best? Honestly I can live with just having 1 child.. but thinking for the child….

2023-06-19Hi mamas and papas, I work full time office time and have a 18 months toddler. When working she is with my in laws. Morning and night time of weekdays and weekend are with us. I find I have almost close to 0 personal life. It’s work, admin, caretaking and repeat. Usually by end of the day I’m exhausted. Occasionally I get friends over or go out but it’s usually with my kid. Not sure if it’s a duh questions.. Any tips on how you got back some personal freedom in daily life?

As sleeping on my sides, i will tend to get stomach cramps due to weight of the tummy and sometimes shoulder pain. Or sometimes i sleep on either side but woke up to sleeping on my back. 2023-06-20Work doesn't want to let me do a proper handover! I been trying to do a handover of work to my colleagues but nobody wants to accept it readily. My bosses are really useful, I have to remind them that I will be away soon every single week, yet they keep asking me to do more stuff. It's time I do lesser and starting teaching others the ropes. 2023-06-20I am 20 weeks since last sat. I felt some movement when I lie down on sat and sun. Now on Monday and today I feel nothing at all. Worries me. But my Doppler shows heartbeat at 130-145bpm. The sound from Doppler is confusing because I not sure the whooshing sound from placenta or is really a heartbeat. If the bpm shows this much could it be safe to say that it is a heartbeat?

Feel guilt & mellow, because for this 17month plus, everyday everyminute & every second spent time with her. 2023-06-21Hi mummies who are doing Glucose testing at home, can I check if in between meals (eg 2hours after lunch at 3pm and has done post meal pricking), then after which at around 4pm or 5pm feel hungry can we eat snacks? And if we do snacks eg 5pm, normally dinner pricking at pre meal at 6pm for dinner is the timing? If gt snack in between b4 post meal and before next pre meal timing must be how long apart? I understand that when we change formula brands, we have to slowly transit them, ie 1 feed of new brand milk then 2 feeds then 3 feeds... Recently quite few times (not often), i noticed baby keep kicking or jerking at one position continuously for 5 mins or so, and can be quite painful , esp when the kicking is very low or down there 😅 even when i move or reposition my body/tummy, the kicking is still at the same exact place. I’m suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum (not out of first trimester yet) and I must say this experience has scarred me because it left me totally incapacitated and unable to work, unable to cope with daily tasks such as even eating. Most days are spent in a haze, being light-headed from the lack of proper food, and as a side effect of the medicines given to me (another thing is I worry so much about the effects of these medicines on my baby. Diclectin didn’t work for me, I have to take stronger medicines in order to be able to take in a little food). Seeking advice from mothers who have been through Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Did this come up in your subsequent pregnancies too? At this moment, what I am going through is enough to scare me away from trying for a second child next time. If you encountered it in more than one pregnancy, what gave you hope and the courage to try again? PS: not trying to be dramatic, sorry if it sounds this way. 2023-06-22Hello parents, i understand that different children grows at a different pace and i hate being the type of parent that puts unnecessary pressure on my child but also i dont want to be late in getting the help that my child needs (if she does) Can any parents relate?☹️ Anyways, my child can understand and execute instructions well. The only thing is i think her vocabulary is quite limited or she needs help with enunciation? She does speak but 60% of the time its babbling and the other 40% are words only i as a mother can understand 😂 i do see improvement day by day even though its slight. I would say that she can say a bunch of singular words now and she is trying to construct sentences (eg: ' i go outside', 'ok i go sleep now'). She is starting school soon and im super worried that noone can understand her in school. I guess im just a worried mum at this point, but going back to the qn at hand, what do yall think is considered speech delayed at 3? I feel like my daughter is doing ok, just needs a little help but my fam/relatives kept asking 'wah she still dont know how to talk properly' or 'did you brought her to a speech therapist already'. She is my first baby so im kinda lost and dont know if im doing this parenting thing right ☹️

2023-06-23Is there any shift-hours working parents here? My husband is working on 12 hour shifts and I, myself, just started working AM shifts without fixed off days. We have been sending our 9 month old baby to IFC since he was 4 month old. I feel stress all the time thinking of the well being of my baby. Like is he getting enough attention from my husband and I because we are always out working even on weekends? At times both, me and husband, will be on AM shifts. Latest I’ll end will be at 1630 and then I gotta rush home to be with my baby. My baby will usually go to bed around 1930. To think that I only got 3 hours with my baby, my heart broke. I would like to know what are you, shift working parents, schedule like? And how do y’all make this work?
2023-06-23Im currently 28 weeks and for some reason , im having mild - moderate stomach cramp (not like period cramp bt more to belly) and my baby bump feels hard as rock. Feels more uncomfortable and cramp-y when i stand or walk. Its not intense pain its just like a cramp when your belly is tightening? And its been few hours. Can still feel baby move. #FTM

2023-06-23This pain have been going around since I entered the 3rd trimester.. I don't know isit the nerve or born. But the pain is only on my left buttock and it goes all the way down to my left thigh. If I force myself to lie on my left side,, the more pain it feel. Anyone experience this pain on left buttock only
2023-06-23I am currently in the subsidised route at NUH. However my husband and I would like to have our own room so he can stay with me during delivery. We don’t mind the different gynaes via the subsidised route and personally don’t think having our own personal private gynae is necessary. Do you think it’s possible to opt for single bedder later in the pregnancy? Or during delivery time itself. Not sure how this works… FTM. Has anyone done this before?

2023-06-23I am extremely upset with my husband. We do not stay tgt as our hs has not arrived. Currently 22 weeks pregnant. Today when I stayed over at his hs, we were quarreling over how he has not taken the initiative to find out about what to get for baby, etc. and he said “treat you so well already, what do I have to gain?”. What did he have to gain?!?! I gave up my career for a year to properly care for my pregnancy. I dont take a single cent from him. I suffer morning sickness and pains without complaining to him to give him a baby. I sacrificed so much. And this is what he said?! I am so so disappointed and upset. I do not even want to talk to him right now. To be honest, divorce is on my mind.

Right now in my second pregnancy, I’ve pimples popping up now and then. This is something I never experience in first pregnancy. 2023-06-24I’ve consulted both and am conflicted. Which will you choose? I’m planning to deliver at Mount A. Dr Ben’s clinic is abit far from my place and his queue system is a mess. But he is gentle and comforting. Dr Adrian’s clinic is reasonable at Punggol but he is very fast and abit hurried. I have to prep my questions for him in advance so not to waste time. 2023-06-24Hi all! I had brown discharge previously at W5 and was prescribed Duphaston. The discharge stopped and all seemed normal, I had nausea and can't eat much throughout the day. However at W7, my symptoms (nausea etc) all went away. And I started having brown discharge again. I'm worried, not sure if it's normal? 😭#firsttimemom
2023-06-24My LMP was 15 April. I tested positive on 15 May. Went for first scan on 9 June, and should be 8 weeks then. But scan measured 5 weeks 6 days. Went for second scan on 24 June, and measured only about 6 weeks 2-3days. What does this mean? I saw a very tiny flutter but was told it’s too early to hear heartbeat. 2023-06-24Currently in the last lap of my pregnancy at 31 weeks. Feeling crappy everyday due to back pain (sprained back was completely bed ridden for 3 days. Better now but still in pain) stomach cramps. Not able to sleep due to all the discomfort. Have been vomitting large amounts ( bowl fulls) daily since start of pregnancy till now. Vomitting blood on occasion as well. Have not left home except for gynae appt in the past month. Was hoping for hospital leave, but gynae did not grant it as baby is otherwise doing well. MC fully utilities too. And even so gynae gives 1 day for each time im admitted. Have been feeling emotional everyday, somehow worse at night, crying for no particular reason. Feeling unsure if I don't deserve HL because every mother goes through this discomfort and I should learn to suck it up? But I'm really really miserable. Bawled in clinic from the pent up Feeling of frustration and hopelessness, but gynae says she can write me a letter to take annual leave if i want. With regards to the symptoms - just need to endure as part of pregnancy. (For vomiting I have tried all medicines including maxalon, diclectin, ondansetron, dimenhydrinate at max doses but it doesn't work). Back pain taking panedine which works plus minus. Sigh what should I do?
