2023-06-12i am 30 weeks and my placenta still low. going for another scan at 36 weeks to see if the placenta move up if not, i have to schedule a c section. i mean i am okay with c section or vaginal as long as my baby gonna be okay. but recently, my sister asked me if i wanna try to do a massage and let's see if it moves up. because the aunty that she always got massages recommended and encourage me to try. she explains that she won't massage my tummy and only around my hips. i did google and it says it's better to not go for a massage with low lying placenta. so right now i am not sure. any advice if i should do the massage or ask the doctor first?

2023-06-12Hi everyone I did my NIPT test (Harmony) at KKH at 10w6d and I got "No Results" after 2 weeks. KKH advised me to go for FTS scan since I'm running out of time (FTS can only be done until 14 weeks). I do want to do NIPT again but KKH is saying that there could be chances of no results again and if that happens then I wouldn't know if there is any issue much later. Has anyone redone NIPT test and gotten results? I tried calling Parkway and TMC but apparently they won't do until a gynae orders it. I also heard that KKH's FTS test gives a lot of false positives. 2023-06-12Hi, I was told to do prick finger 7times a day once a week. So I am alittle confused about the 7 pricking timing. Does it meant I do it before breakfast once after I eat breakfast 2hours once. Then repeat for lunch n dinner and one time just before Bedtime? And between after breakfast pricking timing and before lunch timing is there any timing need take note? As I forgot to ask . 2023-06-12I’ve been feeling bloated or indigestion due to pregnancy , and also having constipation. Felt like i have not exercise for a really long time ever since i got pregnant (week 17 now) and this slows down my digestion. I’m not very active before pregnancy , just running 2.4km on saturdays and occasionally after work on weekdays. But i really dont have the motivation to go even for walks after work right now as im tired - i just want to lie down and rest. Everyday after dinner i would slack and laze, sometimes even lying down and dozing off quickly. I kind of miss the times i could do intense exercise, that burst of power, but … im really so lazy now. Any advice what i should do? 🥲
2023-06-12Hi mummies, I have been having a very chesty, phlegmy dry cough for close to a week. It all started frm my flu den it escalated to cough. Severe headaches come in between bt it went off for a quite a while. Wen dat happen, i took the normal panadol which was previously prescribed by a GP. Bt my overthinking mind is nt to take too much as i fear the condition of my baby. Bt my cough doesnt goes away, in fact, it escalate to me losing my sense of taste. My nose got blocked. I tried some home remedy, bt doesnt goes away. I tried to force myself to eat something with spice or sour taste bt none triggers my taste buds. Though i manage to get some of it, bt it just thoroughly disappointing wen i cant tastw watever im eating/drinking. My husband has asked me to see a GP to get treated. Im just worried having to take too much medication at this period bt im too weak to hold d pain & self healed. Wenever i cough, i always fear for the baby. Bt it is safe?

2023-06-13Is it true that the cost of NIPT becomes about 300+ if FTS shows high risk? I read in Facebook groups that they received that price but I asked my counsellor ar KKH and she said no, there is no subsidy price for NIPT (theirs is called Harmony test). They quote me 700+ for NIPT and said price remains that even if I do FTS first and FTS shows high risknipt Confused. Appreciate any sharing of experiences and when you did the tests. I tried to put a pillow at the back to prevent myself from rolling backwards but I still do, but it’s like my body is sloped slightly due to the pillow at the right side. Is that ok? 2023-06-13My baby is 8 weeks old but a few weeks back we noticed little red dots on her face area, then gradually it started spreading to her neck folds, chin, chest, arm pit and elbow areas. We tried to apply rash cream on her but it doesn’t seem to be resolving. And her cheeks starts to feel quite dry too. Does anyone also has this issue with their little one?
2023-06-13Im currently 26w, is it normal to sometimes feel vaginal pain for like 1-2 sec few times a day ? And sometimes also feel short pain in my lower tummy like 1-2 sec. Both is slight pain and comes and goes in a sec. The paint doesnt affect me but made me overthink. And no the baby is not kicking there. As i can feel baby kicking in my mid tummy. Scared its a sign of preterm labour or cervix opening etc #FTM

2023-06-13Im a ftm expecting my child soon and the people around me and social medias are all filled with the negative and scary side of motherhood after birth. 2023-06-13Hi i have bloatedness and slower digestion recently, coupled with constipation. I believe part of the reason is due to lack of exercising. Ever since i got pregnant, i hardly exercise. I tried to go for walks but after work im so tired and want to lie down and rest. Before pregnancy i was not very active, only going for 2.4km runs on sat morning or occasional weekdays. Gynae has advised no intense exercise for time being (17 weeks gestation). Im afraid that im being too unhealthy for baby and me as i often lie down and fall asleep after dinner. My stomach seems more flabby than pregnant looking now.

2023-06-13I’m at the subsidised gynae clinic at NUH for my pregnancy, and I’m deemed a high-risk patient so I am followed up by the high-risk doctors team. However, I heard that these doctors may not be the one presiding at the birth of the baby, I’ll get whoever is on duty that day, might be a house officer or etc. seeking help from mums with this previous experience please. Can anyone let me know if it’s really the case that the delivery is by the random duty doctor that day? Even if it’s a high-risk situation. As the thought is making me a bit nervous haha. 2023-06-14I am not sure if what i have is sciatica. I googled and it seems like it. Very difficult for me to lie down then goes back up. Initially i had lower back pain on left side, then now it is my butt. Cant even turn to left or right side as and when i want. Anyone have this pain and how to resolve it fast? I do yoga and prenatal massage. It’s better after the session but only temporary 🥲🥲
2023-06-14im so sad i just need somewhere safe to rant... when i was pregnant, there was a night my husband didnt come home after work bcos of an argument, he said he went back to my in laws but he didnt. he didnt come home for another 2 nights before i gave birth too. he broke up his paternity leave into 1 week, then went back to work, and continue the leave another week. he suddenly didnt come home again for 4 nights... when he came home, he had tattoos on his arm (which when discussed he knows i dont like it or allow him to have it) he is also not really involved in taking care of the baby. more of, helping to make milk and wash bottle, sometimes he changes the diapers. most of the other times at home he sleep, wake up, eat, go back to sleep, go to work, come home. cycle repeats. also, he doesnt pay much attention to my needs as a postpartum mom and a first time mom. when i told him i feel stressed up, he said i could've asked him for help... but when i do, he really shows his unhappiness. also, he says im too particular, but of course i will be since he does things really anyhow. im 5 weeks postpartum now. and i realised, i can be better off without him. im getting the hang of juggling taking care of baby and doing the chores. i also dont feel like i love him, i lost respect for him as a husband and as a father.... i dont feel like i need to depend on him also... his presence now just irritates me and i am much happier when he goes out to work. he makes me so anxious when he is at home need to cook need to do his laundry need to take care of him and baby when he should be taking care of us. i hope its just my feelings and hormones and thoughts being messed up and it will pass... but honestly, i am considering divorce... i really feel like i can be better off without a useless husband& dad like him.

2023-06-15Hi, KKH just called me today and informed me that my FTS results is considered high risk. It's 1 over 45 for DS. I'm 34 going on 35 in August. We had seen the NT scan and the nuchal translucency level was only 2.7mm which is considered normal range. Even the counsellor met us after the scan and told us everything is normal. Now how they derived to high risk after doing the blood test boggles my mind. The person who called me also told my age went was also factor in the calculation and considered high risk. Is the number 1 over 45 worrying? I do understand that alot of people have mentioned that FTS provides false positives. We did NIPT before FTS but it was "no results" hence we went ahead with FTS. #FTM #AdvisePlease

As we went inside the clinic the Doctor immediately talked to my helper as she thought she was the Mom. I ignored it for a while but the nagging thought quite stressed me out. I’ve poured it out to my husband but he just laughed and make fun of me. Actually, my kids are all exactly look like my husband and never took anything from me, especially the skin color, they both quite fair skinned. Ever since my eldest has been born people i don’t know that i come across with would think Im the nanny looking after my ‘own’ kids. What a bummer. I thought i would feel less stressed and can finally have some ‘me time’ and just generally take care of myself after we hired a helper, but turns out. I am still tired. My helper can only do single task at a time. if she’s taking care of the kids she cant do any household chores and vice versa. Although i cant complain about her ability to be patient w/my kids. That part she’s fantastic. But cleaning aside, she doesn’t really maintain the cleanliness of the house which I find not very hygienic if u got a little crawler around the house right? So what i did is I just help her out w/ some of the houseworks if I find that Im not contented w/ her cleaning. Which took hours most of the time and very exhausted afterwards. Another thing is that whenever we go out she likes to outdress me, making me look like Im the helper . I dont really know how to confront her about it. I have talked to one of my friend and she just commented on why would my helper even wear a freaking dress in the park, while she see me on shorts and slippers.I really need advise on this coz u know sometimesi feel that my self esteem is at the lowest of the low especially after having kids.#advicepls

2023-06-16Currently towards the end of 2nd trimester. And Im starting to get belly cramps when sleeping sideways at night. I believe its from the weight of the belly since my belly is getting big and heavy. Is this normal and will the cramps affect the baby? Its not intense. 2023-06-16I am currently 30 weeks preggy and is currently doing up my new house to move before the baby arrives. My FIL keeps telling my husband to not let me be at the new house at all especially when the contractors are installing things. Is this some pantang thing? May I know why? Realistically I am aware that there may be dusts/particles from drilling or chemicals from cleaning. But I diligently keep my mask on at all times and stay far away from the chemicals. 2023-06-16Hi. I'm currently 37+wks gestations. Expecting my 4th child now. And aged 39. Technically I'm a high risk pregnancy due to my age. This is my first time encounters water retentions during my whole prenancies journey. (As I never came across water retentions before) I've been having ON n OFF water retention since 2nd trimester but lately, I'm having continuos swollen feet due to water retention since 2mths ago. It's is so uncomfortable and my feet hurts badly. Asked doctor for HL as my employers advise due to my high number of mc (as I've been sick during this pregnancy on top of COVID+ and having water retentions, frequent fever n flu) and wants me to rest at home preparing myself for labour. Doctor asked if I needed MC for today n I said can give me HL instead as I do not have MC anymore she said "sorry we can't give u HL. HL only for those who admitted." And she gave me 1 day MC. Seriously? And when I told u about my swollen feet, u don't even take a look at it. All u said is, "oh!, It'll go away after u give birth. Just elevate your legs and walk more" (which I do every single days n didnt help at all due to the presssure on the womb as baby is growing). Few weeks back, my company panel clinic, he gave me 5days of MC due to water retentions as I can barely walk. Encouraged me to rest more n don't walk much. I should rest since im going to due soon, the doc said. How come polyclinic n GP doctors are more concern of their patients than doctors/specialist in KKH? Don't make HL a big thing. Not warded, cannot issue HL. It's case by case isn't it? Why does some hospital are ABLE to issue HL and KKH can't? Ridiculous isn't it? Only HOSPITAL can issue HL as CLINICS like POLY n GP can't. Since I'm at KKH for my check-up, So what's the issue? U can print out MC, but not HL? And 1 more thing, I seriously think that ALL antenatal checkups in hospital should provide us with BABY SCANNING each time of our visit. We don't take leave for nothing! Travel for 40mins each through n fro, meet doc for 15mins, check BP n urine, listen to baby heartbeat n that's it. This is ridiculous. As parents, ofcourse we want to see our baby images through the scan. We look forward to it every single checkups u see. Why? Bcoz the baby is inside us. We miss them u know? Just by looking at the scanning images means alot for us. Make our visit a worth one. Scan the baby each time we come for our ANT check-up. Not buy listening to the heartbeat n expect us to be happy and assume that the baby is doing OK. The baby is kicking inside us. ofcourse we know that the baby is alive n ok. #helpshare

2023-06-16Im 34 weeks pregnant and having a lot of trouble getting quality sleep. I have backaches sleeping on my side (even with pregnancy pillow and lots of pillow support) and feel alot pressure at the pelvic area if sleep on my back.. so theres no comfortable sleeping position.. plus i wake up between 5 to 8 times a night to pee (almost every 1 to 2 hour in the day as well) so the quality and quantity of my sleep has been really poor. It makes me so tired and unfocused in the day and my productivity at work has dropped too.. (i originally planned to work till edd but now Im considering taking HL earlier ..) any one has similar issue or advice on how to sleep better..?

2023-06-16I’ve delivered my child via natural birth with 2nd degree tear. I’m now 16 days postpartum. The stitches are not hurting anymore but my front pelvic area hurts/feel heavy whenever I sit up from a lying position or standing up from a sitting position. Anyone has encountered similar situation? I’ve done my 1st review with my gynae last week and he said the wound was healing well with no swelling or infection.

2023-06-17Hi mummies! I'm 34+6 weeks now. But during my last check up, I was told that my baby might be too big for vaginal delivery, and will need to opt for c sect at possibly 36 weeks. My first 2 babies are considered big too, that's what the dr's said. 1 was born at 3.2kg and the other 4.2kg. If it goes this way, it will be my 1st time to experience c sect delivery as my first 2 pregnancies was normal vaginal birth. I'm scared and nervous as I do not know what to expect before, during and after the operation. Can I please have some advices and tips for these 3 stage? And also, is my husband allowed to accompany me during c sect?

2023-06-17hello mummies! im currently 24weeks and started to have this dark yellowish discharge a few weeks ago as seen in the photo, which i now is very normal. but since young i have always been sensitive to EVERY SINGLE brand of pads and panty liners thus i had always used tampons. no matter what kind of brand, it will always cause a bad rash and multiple tiny itchy painful bumps. i dont think i can use tampons now, and i have to have some sort of thing to cover my panties as on some days, there will be alot of discharge. i always wash after using the toilet instead of wiping with paper, dont know if this is too much info. any mummies who have sensitive skin know how to reduce this discomfort? please help 🙏🏻🙏🏻 TYIA

I heard that some mom’s milk or even colostrum wont be in until few days after delivery and heard that we would or we can pump to stimulate milk production.
