2023-05-15I’ve been taking care of my child full time since birth, and MIL keep thanking me for taking care of my own child. I feel annoyed when I hear that cause it’s not like I’m a nanny taking care of her grandchild? I’m the mother, why does she need to constantly thank me? Context: When i was out from confinement and the in laws came to visit baby, MIL said to me ‘baby X is our Lee zai zai you know?’ It’s as though she’s telling me my baby is their family’s baby? I still feel so disturbed and angry whenever I think about that comment or listening to her thanking me 😫

2023-05-15This is my first pregnancy, im currently 22 weeks. I’ll be gg JB on my 23/24th week to recee some baby car seat, stroller, baby carrier, etc, like those big expensive items. Also planning to go baby fairs. Do you think its too early for me to buy those stuff during 6 months ? 😅 as i scared i wont have the energy @ 3rd trimester. But at the same time im always overthinking like what if i buy too early and touch wood something happen to my pregnancy 😣 What do you mummies think. 2023-05-15After getting pregnant I realised there are a lot of weird things I suddenly find that I hate that I never hated before. 😵😵😵 For example, I suddenly really hate smooth bedsheets (like reaaaally hate) 😆 as it made it difficult for me to push myself up and sit up on the bed-I will slowly slide down while seated. Hated my sofa for being too hard. I also suddenly hate the toilet bowl for being tall and having a really big hole as I feel not enough support. Used to love sleeping on my side, hate sleeping on my back, now its the opposite... 😵😵😵 Used to be extremely scared of cold, now aircon never seem cold enough. Suddenly hate eating anything other than subway and sushi. 😵😵😵 Anybody else experience? 😆😆😆 #firsttimemom #firstbaby #FTM
2023-05-15hi mummies, need your advice on this... (not related to pregnancy btw) I'm 21 this year, my mom put me as essential occupier in the year 2021. My mom told me to sign not knowing it is essential occupier she said that I just need to wait 5 years (she thought 5 years will start when she submit the form I sign and not during the key collection - MOP period). My mom couldn't apply on her own as she previously bought a resale flat with my father whom she divorced years ago, so she needs me. I have a 5 years old son and me and my son's father would like to expand our family but in order to do so we need a flat as his flat is too cramp as its only a 3 room flat with his mother and brother living in it. My mom purchased 2 room flat only. I wrote to hdb to appeal if my mom can retain the flat and remove me as an essential occupier so I can purchase my own flat with my boyfriend as we would like to expand our family, etc. HDB replied and said in order to do so my mom cannot retain the flat if I withdraw my name as an essential occupier. I'm really lost as if I apply now the grant will be more for me and my boyfriend as i'm the only one working my boyfriend is in NS currently. My mom sort of threatened me if I withdraw my name I have to pay her $500 cash and 10% of her OA - CPF she used. I'm really speechless as she did not ask properly and now it became my fault. Btw she just converted to Singaporean in 2021, so she can purchase a flat. The bto she purchased during 2021 and it will be done around 2026 to 2027. which I will already be 24/25 then I need to wait to fulfill MOP period which is another 5 years I will be 29/30 then so on I purchase BTO that will be another 5 years, etc. I've explained my views to my mother but she do not want to think from my perspective. i'm just speechless and lost.

2023-05-15This is my first pregnancy and would like to gain more knowledge on how to properly store breastmilk and their lifespan. From what i read, theres 2 ways to store breastmilk(if you dont intend to give your baby straightaway): 1. Chiller, normal fridge 2. Freezer (im using the normal 2 door fridge with freezer) How to determine when to store our expressed breastmilk in chiller and freezer. For chiller and freezer, how long can the milk last? And if we wish to store the breastmilk in chiller/normal fridge, do you still put in storage bags or just put in bottle. Fyi im using a 2 door samsung fridge. Right is normal fridge, left is freezer, as below #advicepls #firstbaby

I know Sg don't do duel citizenships so it is a little hard to decide to stay here or there. Can I renounce my kid's Singapore Citizenship when we plan to move back to Australia?
2023-05-15Just wanting to express my feelings here on how I felt yesterday during Mother's Day. First, on Mother's Day, my 10 month old firstborn was down with a high fever. And definitely that wasn't what I obviously want on any day especially on a Mother's Day. To see your poor baby is not feeling well on a mother's day truly sucks and really pains me. Second, what actually makes me a little upset is when my husband didn't show any concern to wish or buy a small token of gift for me on Mother's Day though he can see how tiring and worried I was caring for my firstborn. I'm happy for my friends or relatives whom received lovely gifts from their husbands, where else me here with nothing. I saw they're posting on social media on receiving flowers/bouquets or bags or a day out together. Though last Saturday, I shamelessly asked my husband if he would probably get me one flower that he could even get it cheap from 7-11 for Mother's Day, he would just say "Can.. For sure can.." but ended up with nothing. And he can still act like nothing happened. Truly, guys.. I don't even asked for an expensive things, but how hurtful I am to even be hoping to get one flower but still gets nothing. Of course, I just acted like I was fine. Husbands.... Please appreciate your wife and give her a surprise sometimes. Trust me, it would made her day.

2023-05-15Yesterday, I had a bit of discharge upon wiping I saw blood, and within 1 min I started bleeding down my leg, no cramps or pain, had large clots, went to NUH waited for an hour before the Gynae saw me, Gynae checked my cervix it is closed, womb is good, baby is good, was told that she’s not aware of what caused the bleeding and it’s from the pregnancy itself, and she called it as Threatened Miscarriage. She gave me progesterone shot and progesterone pill to be taken through the vagina for 2 weeks. It’s the worst day of my life, I’m glad my baby is doing good for now.

2023-05-15Hi! I’m estimated 4 weeks preggers (I likely conceived via IUI, which is why I found out earlier that I’m preggers). I’m feeling really queasy and lost appetite on most days. Also lightheaded, almost like gonna faint feeling, and dizzy when I scroll my phone too fast. Any of you experience such symptoms? I also have a severe phobia of vomiting, does anyone know if gynaecologists can prescribe medicine for me to standby in case the nausea gets worse over the upcoming weeks? 2023-05-15Recently I had to go back to work after my maternity leave. I try to Wfh when possible. I got a helper to help out with things in the house and baby as I will also need to work and do my job. there are times where I can just take few minutes break to change his diaper and would like to feed him after working hours. However, my helper seems to be so attached to my baby that she wants to feed, change diapers, put baby to sleep. I've already told her I would like to spend time with my baby especially after work and weekends to bond with my baby as well. I am grateful that she is taking care of my baby well however I just wish she could be understanding as well to let me bond with my own child. It's good for me also after a stressful day at work, to have some time with my own child without inteference. Sorry just had to vent about it as I feel a bit upset. Anyone else had this experience before? 🙂

From what i know usually is put in the fridge but how to heat up afterwards? And sound’s troublesome also right cos when ur NB gets hungry heating up takes awhile … sorry im first time mom…. Pls advice me. My LO doesnt want directly drink milk from my breast so i have to pump too ….

2023-05-16Im a FTM and will start buying baby stuff. For baby bottles, esp newborn, do i buy the smallest size (60ml) or just get the 2nd smallest (120+ml) size? Or buy both each to standby. 2023-05-16I am really struggling with my parents-in-law. My feelings about them changed after the birth of our first child. I can no longer stand the sight or sound of them. Specially my mil first of all she not the one taking care of her own son when he is young who is now my husband so I kind of thinking she doesn’t know the common kid’s behaviour. Btw she doesn’t know how to cook also. All she know is taking herself well. So during my confinement she does not bother to help a bit. Me and my husband both struggle to take care our first new born specially I am in the midst of recovering from my emergency c-sect. Then whenever she and my fil came to visit my daughter for once in awhile she will complaint why does my daughter so fussy and hot tempered for example my daughter will whine after waking up from her nap. Isn’t this normal for a kid and she currently is just 2.5yo. And whenever we went out for an occasional she and my fil will feed nonsense to my daughter such as green tea, Chinese gui which is all so sweet and hard to digest for a kid. I really hate to see their face and sound. Yet my second baby is coming up in 3mths time, I start to worry my fil will put his face so near to my newborn just like what he did to my first child and spread his virus and cos he is very old he can’t carry my child properly. Feel like asking my husband to only inform them to come visit after our newborn is more stable but I don’t know how to explain to him my frustration towards them 😞

Are the gynaes/doctors under subsidised route willing to give? Or does it depend on the gynae/doctor themselves? During my 20 week appointment I tried asking whether it’s possible to take HL before I give birth, but the doctor at that time told me to use my maternity leave instead. If possible I would like to save my maternity leave for AFTER the birth instead as I feel that every day and minute is very precious after my boy comes out. Appreciate any advices in advance!

I’m due to meet my OBGYN only next week so wondering if I should take the 5mg in the meantime and whether there would be any negative side effects from consuming higher dosage of folic acid than required? 2023-05-17Hi, my baby currently at 23 days old. Is it normal for her to latch for one hour? At times she will bf 5min at her supposed 3 hour time , then she will want to drink again 1 or 2 hour later. But at times, she will latch for 1 hour or more yet seems hungry. Do we also need to pump after every feed? As I SAHM, so most of the time i let her latch but if i really need to do housechore ill let her drink formula. TIA

2023-05-18Baby is 2mo tmr and has not been feeding well since yesterday. Her usual intake per feed typically ranges from 80ml to 100ml and 7 to 8 times per day. Daily intake about 600+ml. We have been bottle feeding her with pigeon bottle stage 2 nipple. She started to fuss and cry so we changed to stage 3. The first feed with stage 3 nipple went pretty well and she drank 70ml. However subsequent feeds the crying and rejecting bottle returned. We since tried Philip, Dr Brown's and Hegen and the same crying is still occuring. We have been preparing 60ml expressed bm to bottle feed her but she will not be able to drink contentedly and there will be alot of milk spilling out from her mouth during feeding. Tried to let her latch and she wants to but only suck 3 times and rest each time. To give context my milk supply is not high - am expressing average 70ml per pump #advicepls #pleasehelp

2023-05-18Hi mummies, im currently on my 2 tri, and im facing v bad upper body ache especially after my afternoon naps and usually i can have a good nap without any issues but just recently i cant , even if i can i only sleep awhile the feeling was like ( never really sleep much kind yk ) and wokeup feeling very achy ( the ache is exactly the photo red colour area ) my husband tried to massage for me it helps for awhile but the next day after i have my nap again wokeup the ache is x2 than before …… not sure if is my pillow problem or what. My husband was using a more hard & high pillow mine is more flat and soft , I exchange the pillow w him to see if is the my pillow problem or what .. is still the same … the ache doesnt go off infact the ache even worst…. I tried all sorts of positions to sleep at the end of the day is still aching , the ache feels is like when u sit up is wrong , laydown also wrong everything u do dont seems right …. 2023-05-181st born turning 3 in 1.5mths. Still breastfeeding till date. Recently I feel some letdown but I realise nothing comes out when I squeeze. I tried massaging but still nothing. I'm also pregnant so I'm confused if it's a good thing as it may lead to him weaning. But I also have heartache thinking that there's actually milk because after almost 3 yrs I think I know what letdown feels like. But literally nothing is coming out for the past few days. Should I get help? Or should I just let it be and take this opportunity to wean him? Currently he's still latching to sleep although I know for sure he's not getting any milk.

2023-05-19I was prescribed utrogestan when I went to see my Gynae to confirm my pregnancy. Based on my lmp, I was supposed to be 5 weeks but did transvaginal scan but can’t see anything. Not sure if it’s bcos it’s too early. I’m going to see my Gynae next week. Not sure if I’m going to see a sac next week. Kind of worried. 2023-05-19I have a 2 month old baby who we primarily bottle feed her with BM and FM. We had no issue with her feeding - she can drink up to 110 ml previously with little fussing - until recently. In the past week, we noticed she has been fussing and crying a lot whenever we try to feed her. Doesn’t matter if it’s BM or FM, she fuss and cry still. Recently we came to know about what bottle aversion is and though it wasn’t intentional, we realise that we had unknowingly pressured her to drink the required daily amount. Hence, we suspect that is the cause for her bottle aversion. Anyone with similar experience can share how we can help our daughter to get over this episode and enjoy feeding again? Now she only drink 60 ml on average and tend to fuss and cries alot. #bottleaversion #worrieddad #worriedparents #FirstTimeParents

As at some time baby will be very active kicking and moving non stop then suddenly little to no movement for few hours. Then at night will start being active again. But the timings are unpredictable. 2023-05-19My baby weighs 2.1kg at 33 weeks and was told that it will be difficult for me to deliver vaginally. My height is 147cm so gynae was concern of baby grow too big and risk of csect is high. I was told monitor my sugar level as well coz she suspected that I have gdm. So she mentioned if I have gdm she will prescribe medications that will help to slow down the rate of baby growth. If not by 40 weeks baby would have grown to 3.5kg and I wud have difficulty pushing. So my qn is, any mummies ever prescribed medication to slow down rate of growth of baby?

2023-05-19I'm not sure if this is a norm? But I've been having soft peanutty bowel on and off since week 13+ preg. About 3-4 times a day. It's not everyday but on and off since week 13 till now (3 weeks!). I didn't experience this during my first pregnancy but instead, mad crazy hard poop that bleeds all the time during my 1st pregnancy (tmi I'm sorry). I'm having soft bowel right now and I'm not sure if it's the earl grey milk tea liho I had this noon? I got it free upsized with least stevia with their membership and i really enjoyed it (gosh!). From week 36 onwards, I feel strong movements/kicks on the right side of my womb which I haven't experienced it in previous week's. 2023-05-20I feel so stressed and almost scared to be with my mil that I keep avoiding her. She knows but i can’t help it. She will grumble when baby sticks to me… if baby throw tantrums and don’t want to eat, she will ask me what I cooked. My kid loves bread and recently I baked pastry for him and she saw and start to grumble eat bread again… I compromised and went on a long trip with my husband’s family. During the trip she was always asking did I do this did I bring that… I really feel very stressed up being with her… instead of being appreciative that I went long trip with her even though I could spend my leave with my own family, I visit her more than my own parents. She is always complaining to my fil and my husband saying want visit grandson so difficult. Cause she wants to come as and when she wants….what will you do???
