2022-11-21Hi mummies, I have an issue from young where I can’t swallow pills. Even Panadol, I’ll have to crush or dissolve. And now most prenatal vitamins are soft gel huge capsules. Especially DHA, fish oil and a few other. I’ve tried swallowing but always end up gagging. People tell me that you can’t break or squeeze through soft gel pills as it will not be effective enough. Does anyone face this issue as well? Could you advice me what you did or what alternative to these prenatal pills did you consume instead? #advicepls #firstbaby

2022-11-21Any mummies here are subsidised patients in kkh and have little to no ultrasound at all except those important ones like detailed scan and all? I realised I have lesser appointments and scanning done as compared to last time in 2020(also subsidised) . I also noticed that the doctors attending to my consultationa in clinic C tends to rush things. 🤣 I had an appointment last month at clinic B and was shocked by the major difference on how the doctors treated you. As what I knew , clinic B is for private / C for sub. And the treatment there is so much better 🤣 doctor took time to check for heartbeat , showed me baby , and also asked questions which were relevant. Clinic C doctors mostly rushed things and I'm out of the room in less than 5 min. 😮‍💨 I'll probably go private the next time I decide to have another one 🤣🤣

2022-11-21Hi mommies..i just need to let it out here. I'm a first time mom, my baby is 1 month 1 week. Things have been really difficult for me. Some days i forced myself to stay strong, some days i lost it. Today is one of the days where i'm forcing myself to be strong but i'm losing it. I almost hang myself just now a few minutes ago because i can't take it anymore. I'm exhausted, and still bleeding which makes me more tired cause losing so much blood. 2022-11-21Hello mummies! I am currently using milk storage bags to store my expressed breastmilk and I’m thinking of switching to milk storage bottles instead as the bags are one-time use (quite wasteful) and expensive (I pump 8 times a day so 1 month’s worth of bags cost me over $30). But I noticed that most milk storage bottles like Autumnz are only PP material, and not PPSU or glass, which means I cannot use my UV steriliser to sterilise the milk storage bottles. How should I go about sterilising PP milk storage bottles then? TIA!

Sat / Sun is my cheat day. I eat anything. I don't take any soft drinks during the pregnancy. I work from home Tues-Thur. I don't have the habit of exercise also, Is this diet OK? Otherwise, can share with me a GD diet or some exercise I can do for a noob?

2022-11-22My baby is 11mo and has always had a good appetite; she would eat anything and try everything. But recently for the past 1 week she has been refusing to eat so literally anything. Now she would only eat 1-2 spoonfuls of food or a few bites of bread, etc or food that she normally enjoys eating. 2022-11-22I’m 28 weeks now and I had this itchy red patches on my thighs since 2nd tri.. I went to see dermatologist and she prescribed me 0.1% steroid cream and moisturiser. I’ve applied for 2 weeks but it didn’t help much and got worse.. Luckily my tummy doesn’t have any rashes. It’s just my legs. I’ve tried calamine lotion, it helps to suppress the itch but i’ll still feel itchy a few hours later. I can’t stop scratching! :’( anyone know what is this?

On 22 nov in the morning, I went to polyclinic to confirm my pregnancy however the result was negative and my hcg was like 25?. 2022-11-23So my dear mil refuses to eat left over food. Every meal needs to be fresh cooked meal. She also doesn’t allow my husband or her grandchildren to eat leftover. It’s sibei fustrating for me. Cause what am I supposed to do with all these damn leftovers? She says leftover food is unhealthy and refrigerating /microwave will result in bacteria and this will result in long term illness. Hubby just listens to her when she’s home. Otherwise he himself loves leftovers. But he doesn’t think it’s worth fighting with his Ma about this.

I’ve been feeling a little uncomfortable with my previous gynae because I’ve been asking questions about birthing methods, but the answer I always get from her is always “still too early, don’t need to worry about it now”. And the sessions always feel rushed.. I always walk out doubting myself, am I asking for too much? Just want to give you the confidence that there are better gynaes out there, go look for them! Don’t take mediocre services for something that’s so important to you. Be brave and make the decision to switch if you are not comfortable..

I doubt its an allergy thing because he woke up with rashes on his face this afternoon. He was fine and just recovered from a fever yesterday. Any mummies have any clue?? 2022-11-23My 6 year old refuses to deviate from a plan or schedule once it’s been agreed. For example if I tell her this Saturday we will go to eat donuts and then go to the zoo. And if we instead go to eat ice cream and then go to the zoo. Or if we go to the zoo first and then eat donut (flipped order of event), she will go into a ballistic melt down. She gets upset and explains that it’s just not what we planned. I think this type of obsessive compulsive need to follow a schedule behaviour is worrying and unhealthy. Besides that she doesn’t show any other behavioural issues. What could be up?

2022-11-24It is my first pregnancy. Before I learn anything about baby caring, I need to learn about hand washing and sterilising things. After my baby was newly born, daddy was tested Covid Positive, although it was proven as false positive afterward , the week of quarantine with baby has brought the germaphobic habits and thoughts of mine eg wiping clean and sterilising the house. Soon, the fear of Covid develops into the fear of germs, I am scared of carrying baby after cooking, as I am worry that the fluid from meat, fish and raw vegetable might contaminate my clothes and baby will take in the germs as she is still breastfeeding. After I clean the toilet, I feel not clean to handle baby if I don’t bathe and clean myself thoroughly. I am feeling guilty if I don’t wash my hands before handing baby & her surroundings(eg toys, bed, clothes). In reality, baby needs mommy. I am the only one taking care of baby. If I wake up early to cook and clean, baby might wake up anytime. They cannot wait till I finish cooking/cleaning toilet, then shower myself before putting on the new clothes. Even if I don’t shower and just change my clothes, baby will cry and fall down from bed. 😭😭😭 Sometimes I am even scared to touch any surfaces myself as I am worry that baby will be exposed to Covid or any germs that harm her. When I fly back home, I am worry when my family carry baby without washing their hands. The fear of this invisible things has caused me a lots of worry. Is there any similar experiences from mommy? How do you get rid of the habits and fears when the news about COVID is always lingering although it is already declared as endemic? I need to get rid of my own germaphobe before my baby is grown up enough to understand and develop germiphobic habits like me. 2022-11-24I experienced bleeding (saw blood dripping while peeing) and immediately went to see my Gynae. Found that there is bleeding in the uterus. Was given a jab and had to increase my Duphaston intake. ultrasound scan that my baby is fine, heartbeat is still there and sounds strong. It has been a day and I still experience bleeding (fresh red), quite an amount came out when I sneezed. Just wondering when will the bleeding stop, or what should I expect in the next couple of days. I checked with my gynae and he asked me to visit him again if the bleeding continues tomorrow (day 3). #advicepls #firstbaby

2022-11-24Okay dumb question for a 2nd timer like me 🥲 I'm 33 weeks preggo and been having abdominal cramps plus lower back pain. I can't rmb if I had Braxton Hicks before but this kind of feels similar to what I felt when I was in labor. So far no mucus plug discharge just this uncomfortable feeling. Pain goes away when I change position but it's just making me cautious 😅 I've heard that those pregnant with baby number 2 normally have fast labour compared to the firstborn. 2022-11-25SIL likes to dictate our lives and it’s getting too overwhelming. She comes to our place and tells us what we need to buy or own. She also forced us to use her old baby mattresses (last used was 5 yrs ago) when I told her I’m not comfortable with it. She got upset with me when I didn’t wanna accept all her kids’ old clothes as some had holes and some were moldy. I did keep those that looked wearable. And the baby chair looked unstable and had the moldy plastic smell. When I had baby blues (mainly because of her overbearing behaviour and my MIL’s constant visiting and not allowing me and baby to have proper rest), she told my husband she didn’t have it so she feels I shouldn’t have it either. I finally broke down one day and cried loudly, which my MIL accidentally overheard, and now she and my MIL feels offended by me. It’s like I don’t even have the right to be upset. While my husband have told them to back off from me, they’re still telling and dictating what my husband needs to do. Now they want our new maid to go clean my parent in law’s house also, which I feel is not right. And insist we go stay over at my parent in laws’ place regularly (we are living with my parents temporarily until our new place comes), which I find unnecessary and logistically too much. They have been trying to convince my husband to continue this living arrangement and rent out our new house instead. These are just a few examples of the things they do, and I honestly cannot take it anymore. No matter what my husband tell them, they just won’t back off from him. Even though they don’t directly approach me now, they still approach my husband to enforce their ideas on him, which then affects our new family as a whole, and I am really very very of their nonsense. My husband is also at his wits end because they would threaten him that he would break down the relationship at home and they would stop showing concern or giving us anything else if we keep rejecting their ideas and ‘help’. Even basic thing like naming of our son, my sis in law also threatened my husband and said if he insist on naming our own son, it will break apart the family. In the end we had to give in and let my FIL name him. Please help give me suggestions on how my husband and I can deal with my SIL. #firsttimemom #advicepls

2022-11-25So I'm 33 weeks preg and have a 29 month old toddler. Just past few days , I've been having mild contractions like feeling and it made me feel restless. Googled to find out more (in case it was just Braxton Hicks) but all I got were articles to preterm labor. Mum suddenly ws me after dinner and asked if I was feeling any pain and she said she had a feeling that I was gonna give birth earlier than my edd. I contacted my masseuse and told her my symptoms, turns out it she suspected could be threatened labor. 😭 She came to gave me a massage and said baby was in distressed inside. Turns out the reason for that to happen was because I was carrying my toddler till it strained me. There was a bulge on my spine and she showed me that it bruised. Cut the story short , massage went well and I felt so much relieved from all the pain I was having. But I kind of feel bad and sad that I cant carry my toddler as much now. He seems to have understood Im in pain and has been rather clingy demanding hugs and carry but I could only say no to carrying. Today he cried so bad that I had no choice but to carry him awhile. It breaks my heart to see my firstborn crying like that but at the same time I have to take care of myself too. How do I stop feeling this way? 😭😭 Hubby works from 8-5pm and I don't want to trouble him with trivial stuffs like this.

2022-11-25I am feeling so down for the past few days. I haven't been spending much time with my husband due to his work commitment/schedule. I stay home almost everyday ever since I entered the third trimester. I am now 38+1 and i started to feel lonely. I do feel like having sex on days where my husband is at home. Normally i will spray some body spray or light perfume every time after shower or even to sleep, its a habit for me to always smell good even when i'm not going anywhere. This time round, i put the extra effort to spray some sexy perfume instead to attract my husband's attention and some nice and cute sleepwear but he seems to be not interested? I have done this 3 days in a row but he ended up sleeping right away the moment we go to bed. (Yes he did spend time with me during the day but only the sex part is lacking now). I even tried hinting at him about this, he reassured me once but nothing has changed. I started to feel insecure with myself. Maybe i don't look good anymore... #justranting #insecure

2022-11-26I need urgent advice from all mommies!! My baby girl is only 15 days old today but she is drinking a lot of milk which is starting to scare me!! From day 7 - day 14 she has been drinking 90ml formula milk each time, feeding is about once every 2 hours. Sometimes about 1 hour ++ she starts feeling hungry again, she rarely sleeps for 3 hours. From day 11 onwards she seems to still be hungry after 90ml so sometimes I do make extra milk and do till 100ml or 110ml max. Yesterday night onwards she seem to need 120ml otherwise she will just stay wide awake and keep turning her head searching for milk / put her hands in her mouth. She’s not even 4kg so 120ml seems to be too much for her (according to the advice on the milk tin 120ml is for 2 weeks - 3 months baby 4.5kg above and feeds 6 times a day but my baby girl drinks about 12 times a day). I did asked her PD which is Doctor Ang from TMC but the doctor advised to just keep feeding until she is full and had enough. She say the baby won’t continue drinking when she’s full. But that doesn’t sound very normal to me?? I’m also not sure if she’s drinking this much milk because I did not start her on the pacifier. If possible I do not wish to start her on pacifier at all. I was looking at the subject marks required for the different levels and it seems that those who score between 45-64 (a 20 mark range) score the same points at 6. I am not sure why we would keep such a big mark range as clearly someone who score 47 vs someone who score 64 would have put different efforts and have different level of knowledge of a subject, Also to get to the best schools in singapore, you pretty much have to score above 90 for everything. It is not often that a person who is a savant in math and science would be equally great at languages or vice versa. #psle #singapore
