- 2022-11-07Hi fellow mommies, may I find out from you, how was your delivery experience at Thomson Medical Centre and the type of ward room you stayed in? How was the lactation consultant, were they supportive in teaching how to breastfeed?
My obgyn delivers at three hospitals (Mt A, Mt E Novena and TMC) so I am trying to decide.
Heard mixed reviews on TMC from my own friends.
My doctor told me the pros and cons of each one, and mentioned that TMC has a lot of add-on charges, so it may not be the cheapest in the end.
- 2022-11-07I just found out I am pregnant, going week 6.
Do I need to go GP before going to gynae?
Any recommendation on brands of prenatal vitamins and folic acid? Thanks. #firsttimemom
- 2022-11-07I am currently a subsidised patient under KKH. Is it normal for the doctor not to do any ultrasound from second trimester onwards? Except for the detailed scanning (at ~20th week), all the other regular appointments only consist of Doppler scan to monitor for baby’s heartbeats. Basically, we can’t see the baby at all, all we know from the visit is that the baby is alive. Anyone with similar experience as a sub patient in KKH?
- 2022-11-07My son attends coding and robotics classes here and it has trained them to problem solve and think deeper.

- 2022-11-07Anyone have taken medication to to milk supply? Please advise thank you
- 2022-11-07I just done the D&C on 4th Nov. Though it seems like physically I've more or less recovered with just mild cramps. I just can't believe my pregnancy journey only lasted for a month. With all the excitement that I had just few weeks ago and now, I'm back to normal self. No more baby, no more talking about the future. While I'm hoping and wanna be ready to plan for next baby. I just can't control my mixed feelings. To feel sad, to move on or to wish for new baby.
- 2022-11-07Hi, I am unable to hold the baby full month at home and there is no multi-function area around my neighbour as well. Any idea where else we can hold baby full month celebration? Would appreciate all ideas 🙏🏼😊 Thank you!
- 2022-11-07How to know if baby doesn't like the taste of formula? Baby is currently 1 month old. formula fed since birth. changed to grow formula yesterday, since he was on soy milk for two weeks due to diarrhea.
and also, how to know if baby doesn't like the bottle? was using avent size (0), initially it was ok but suddenly the flow was too fast for him, (didn't change the teat at all). now changed to pigeon size (ss).
- 2022-11-07I'm so worried. Most of the time I'm on my own. I'm either wfh alone or alone in my office or commuting on my own. Can experienced natural birth mummies share what I tell-tale signs right before you admit to hospital? Other than SHOW & water bag break. Bcos I've been feeling like my fetus is laying really low recently. I'm 37 weeks.
- 2022-11-07My LO is 1 month old and sometimes i just can't tell why my baby is fussing about it makes it hard for her to sleep. She's always been fed on time, changed her diapers immediately whenever she pee or poo, shower her daily, comfort her, burp her or massage her tummy whenever i feel like she got gas. She sleeps soundly at night and wakes up for feeding but if its in the day I can't really tell what's bothering her I'm feeling so helpless.#firstbaby #firsttimemom

- 2022-11-07Suddenly just now when am taking nap when outside was raining, I can feel that my baby move from left to right then right to left again, dunno why super active. Is that normal? Am in 19 weeks 3 days now. Makes me feel worried and woke up from my nap. When am sitting my baby still moving lasted about 5 to 10 minutes. Then gave my baby listen to some music and baby seems like just park on my belly button area. And can feel she just stay and move there.
- 2022-11-07Sorry for the silly question but am wondering if you keep Ur panty on for the 20hrs labour during the 1-7cm dilation or off for easy checking??

- 2022-11-07Currently week 32 going week 33 Pregnant. Gender has been revealed as Baby Girl during week 20. However, when I was at the end of the 2nd trimester to the 3rd trimester, my belly button became an Outie and popped out instead. Then my family then kept doubting the baby gender.
Does the belly button really tell the gender of the baby? I have bought all the baby stuff and I'm confused now. #firsttimemom

- 2022-11-07Hi, first pregnancy here. I only found out that I was pregnant on w16 and I heard that there is different tests that were done during the earlier weeks.
I know that there is still a detailed scan at w20 onwards but is it still necessary to do the earlier tests?#firsttimemom #pleasehelp #advicepls #firstbaby
- 2022-11-07I’m currently at my week 14 and I’m having frequent headaches and flu. While sneezing and coughing, there will be sharp pain at my lower abdominal.

- 2022-11-07Hi Mummies

- 2022-11-07Hi Mummies,
Any advise on when to start using stretch mark cream?
I am currently 22 weeks pregnant but don’t see any stretch marks
#firstbaby #firstpreganancy
- 2022-11-07Doctor said its a failed pregnancy because the sac was empty and no progression, nothing inside but pregnant. She said can just take medication to clean away everything because at 10 weeks nothing is found still. Just empty sac. She gave me 1 week to go for last scan and after that she said no hope actually. I'm in dilemma on what to do next
- 2022-11-07The InterContinental Family Suite has the best setup for a family. The vibrant colours and thoughtful design in the room is perfect for a child to stay and play. Little gestures, such as the soft toys, bunk beds with slides and the little children teepee are perfect to keep my children occupied and have fun. Will definitely be back again!
- 2022-11-07I’m 39 weeks + 6 today, tmr will be my edd but I’ve no signs of labour at all!!! No contractions, no Braxton hicks, I’m not even dilating. My dilation has been stuck at 1cm for the past 2 weeks. Doctor suggested to induce on the 10th because my baby girl is already 3.3kg. I’m only 165cm, not sure if I can even push my baby out via natural birth. Any golden tips from all mommies pls advice me on what to do!!!!
Personally I’m having very mixed feelings about having to induce because I feel that maybe both baby and I are not ready for labour, which might increase the odds of having to do emergency c sec but doctor mentioned that eventually will still have to induce since I’m not dilating. I’m feeling so lost as this is my 1st baby.

- 2022-11-07Anyone having this issue? Cramps/numbness on the hands. I even feel ALOT tingling and numb until i feel pain on my hands and fingers. And sometimes my fingers are swollen. But only cramp on my right hand. Feels like blood is not in my hands when i sleep.
- 2022-11-08An amazing hotel that are near lots of shops, food outlets and attractions. A perfect staycation which is fuss-free to locate and to match the preferences of everyone in the family.
- 2022-11-08Week 17. I'm using the clevamama maternity pillow sleeping on the left side with legs bent exactly as shown in the pic.
But I ended up waking with numbs and cramps despite using a maternity pillow on the left legs and left hands. Am I putting too much pressure/weight on the left hands/legs while sleeping on left position ? As a result I find it very hard to sleep as I keep tossing and turning on bed due to numbs/cramps
Is that normal ? Does pregnant and sleeping on left side causes difficulty in sleeping?
- 2022-11-08My child joined Pat’s School house when she was almost 22 months old during the pandemic period. Prior to joining the school, she doesn’t like to socialise and preferred to keep to herself. While she could understand basic cues from me, she was unable to express herself clearly verbally.
After 6 months of starting her school life with Pat’s school house, my family saw marked improvement in her social, motor and creativity skills. She started to express her thoughts clearer, articulate her thoughts with confidence with family and friends.
She became a curious and experimental child who ask interesting questions. I could also see the marked improvement in her motor skills as she played with her Lego toys and through her interest in crafting art pieces. More importantly, I know she is happier and looks forward to attending school to meet her friends to learn and explore together.
Not forgetting the regular check in and communication with school teachers and school management team was amazing via their in house app and connect with parents- teachers session. Every teacher involved was responsive and helpful and truly gave constructive feedback on each child’s progress. School curriculum was well designed to our children interested and there are recommended blended learning activities that parents could do at home to learn and bond together with the little ones.
I couldn’t be more thankful to have a school that truly understand the needs and challenges of parents, nurture my child in creative ways, guide them to be socially responsible individuals and knowing that she is in a safe environment to learn and thrive in.
I highly recommend Pat’s Schoolhouse to parents who wants a safe and holistic space for their young ones to grow and learn.

- 2022-11-08Hi All,
Just a question, my baby will be having her 4th month vaccinations at the end of Nov and it falls on a Monday. Should I still send her to infant care the next day or best to have her at home for a day before returning to IFC?
Appreciate the advice from mums who have experienced this! And also any other advice in caring for a baby that went through vaccinations.
^_^

- 2022-11-08Ordered 28 days confinement meals with Tian Wei. I have enjoyed the meals! The portion of the meal is very generous, with a good variety of the dishes. Also like that there’s a mix of traditional and fusion food. Delivery is very punctual and the customer service staff is very friendly, and would call to check if we have any feedback on the food. Will recommend Tian Wei to any mummies looking to have hassle-free confinement meals!

- 2022-11-08Hi mommies to be, I’m in my week 30+. This morning while otw to work in mrt, I suddenly felt nausea. And within minutes, I broke out in cold sweat, breathless, dizzy and thought I was going to blackout. I removed my mask and staggered out of the train (not my stop yet). I sat down and felt better probably after 2-3 mins. Has this happened to anyone before? Should I go to my gynae immediately? Baby is still active and kicking. Just now I’m feeling a little unwell and nausea still. My morning sickness has gone away since week 18…

Is it really too early to have such questions answered?
- 2022-11-08i'm exclusively breastfeeding my daughter whom is 4½ month old. she rejects bottles, pacifier and most definitely formula milk. my supply is great, she never show signs of hunger or scream because there is no milk while latching. i tried giving breastmilk in bottle she rejects too. my problem is, my mil gave off this comment " then she never drink milk at all?" when my husband told her she rejects bottles and formula.
isnt breastmilk, milk?! 😠 what pisses me off is, when i had my son whom is 7 yrs old now i only managed to breastfeed for 4days and switched to formula after cause first time mom, i dont know anything about breastfeeding. she asked me why only 4 days. now with my daughter bfeeding for 4months, she ask why i never give formula? its so frustrating. and my daughter is very chubby, her weight percentile is 80% even doctors n nurses says good for fully breastfeeding and direct latching. i mean, whats up with people? 🙄 sorry just ranting.

I am Physician Jolene Chong, TCM Physician and Advisor, Market Development at Eu Yan Sang TCM Premier Clinic, Paragon Medical Suites.
Together with the team at TAP, we would love to help as many of you as we can on your conceiving journey.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been experiencing a growing acceptance to complement Western medicine in treating common fertility conditions in today's society. We are able to devise the ideal personalized combination of treatments (such as consumption of Chinese herbal prescriptions, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping etc) to target any issue faced by a patient after understanding your body constitution. While treating each patient, TCM also addresses the overall well-being of the patient and aims to improve his/her holistic health.

👩-what nourishment can I eat from TCM ? can I eat bird nest and chicken essence? which trimester can I start eating
👩⚕️ Bird Nest and Chicken Essence are fine for consumption by pregnant ladies, and they can be consumed throughout your pregnancy. Other nourishing herbs which you can consider taking would be 党参、茯苓、山药、玉竹 etc for the improvement of your digestive system; 莲子、百合 for the improvement of your respiratory system and calming of mind and spirit. Hope this clarifies your doubt! :)
👩 Any food to avoid while taking TCM?
👩⚕️ I would advise my patients to avoid Radish (which may reduce the effectiveness of my prescription) and Grapefruit (which may heightened the effects of my prescription to undesirable levels). It is also essential to note to have an interval of 2 hours with any other Western medications and/or supplements which you are taking.
Hope this clarifies your doubts! :)

- 2022-11-10Hi moms, I gave birth early jan and baby is 10 months now. I left my prev job abruptly because I wasn’t ready to work. I recently joined a job in August. But on and off I feel drained. Work is tiring bcos I teach, baby has been in ifc but other than that, I’m the only caregiver for baby. I’ve been skipping work a lot because I feel drained out. I get stressed on every other day worrying about money but hating my job. To be fair, my pregnancy journey was tough, led baby to be premie. Everything was tough, idk what to feel but I think I’m burned out or at my wits end.
Is this ppd? Am I experiencing it?

- 2022-11-10My sister just went though her first cycle of IVF and failed. She had been married way longer than me and I am currently 19 weeks pregnant while she had struggled with miscarriage, IUI and now IVF. As much as it is something I cannot control, I feel kinda bad about it.
I’m trying to give her and my brother-in-law as much support as I can but I always feel like it’s not enough. She has been nothing but a wonderful person for me to lean on throughout my pregnancy and she always supports me. Anything else I can do to support her? Or any advice?

- 2022-11-10I was referred by my colleague to consider Playfacto. My child is happy here, and the teachers are very helpful and thoughtful. My girl loves the lunch, and she is able to rest and do her work in such a comfortable environment. I feel secure knowing that she is in good hands after school. I have already recommended the student care to many friends.. keep up the good work
- 2022-11-10I love how PlayFACTO School places equal emphasis on academic and the well-being of my child. Nothing is compromised!
My child enjoys her day after school in a homely environment. By completing all her homework in the student care (teachers are attentive too), I get to spend quality time with her at home after work.

- 2022-11-11Hi mummies! Need help here!
Currently 8 weeks pregnant now. My last scan was 5 days ago at o&g emergency cos I had light bleeding suddenly but no fetal pole during that time, doc can only see yolk sac.
Went for scan yesterday again and finally fetal pole appeared but no heartbeat. Doc said fetal growth slow cos it shows only 5.7 weeks. Had anyone experiencing this before and had a successful pregnancy? I’m very worried now. The 2 weeks wait was so torturous

- 2022-11-11Mine is coming 10months soon & she struggles to nap.
She is clearly sleepy (yawning, rub eyes, red eyelid/brows). when i put her on my lap and pat her, she keeps pushing/wriggling away & gets upset if i dont let her crawl away. I'll have to let her play abit more & try putting her on my lap afew more times until she finally surrenders. I tried leaving her on the mattress and patting her to sleep too, doesnt work.
At night, it's easier for her to sleep. A bottle of milk, lights out then I'll let her lie down and she plops left & right.. then finally she'll be asleep on her own.
So, whats yr method for naps? Share some and maybe it might help me out

- 2022-11-11Can pregnant take airplane?
- 2022-11-11Needed to rant cause I know im being childish…
I am actually jealous of my mum…
My mum is helping me with confinement… so whenever baby cries, she will carry him… so much so that, when my baby is not comfortable and is crying in the middle of the night… i try my best to soothe him but he still crying and screaming, my mum will signal me and I handover baby to her.. and baby in her arms will stop crying. This happened so many times that I feel useless as a mum.. n also coz my breast milk is not thick, my mum will always jokingly say my milk so watery baby always hungry… always need to top up with Formula milk… I know she say as a fact, but it always made me feel like I’m a bad mum who can’t feed her baby…
- 2022-11-12This is a rare art centre that is serious about imparting drawing skills to children. Very structured and systematic curriculum but not forgetting the fun. My kids look forward to the lesson each week

- 2022-11-12Hi mummies..i just want to let it out here. I'm a first time mother. My husband starts work today after 1 month leave. My baby is turning 1 month in a few days. He left in the morning and i'm now alone for the first time with my baby and for the first time he was really fussy, cranky, crying non stop. All needs were met. Room/home temperature was good. I gave him comfort. Affection. Everything but nothing seems to work.
He is finally sleeping now after so many attempt, for hours, of trying. Even left him alone to calm myself before attending to him again.
I'm just so stressed and it's only day 1 of being alone with my baby. I have forever. I'm scared it won't get better.😔

- 2022-11-12I have recently sent my LO to child care for a week, previously he was all along taken care by family members. After 2-3 days we realized his behavior sort of 'changed'. He became a lot more needy like, A LOT MORE and will always cry for mama and papa. This didn't happen in the past. He doesn't seem to be enjoying school either (though we know it will take time for him to get used to it, it has only been 1 week). We are really worried if it will negatively affect him emotionally/mentally so we are considering cancelling his cc. But yet at the same time we also want him to learn how to be independent and bond with other kids, since he doesn't have these opportunities at home and enrichment classes are expensive tbh. Anyone has similar experience? Seeking any opinions pls. Thanks!
- 2022-11-12I was initially reluctant to send my kid for coding but my wife was the one who suggested to let our child to test it out. After trialing for one term, my child has progressed and will share his weekly lesson with us and even doing demo to show how it correlates with things around him. My wife and I are truly amaze by his progress. With the current ongoing improvement on the progress, I would recommend a big YES to the programme.

- 2022-11-12My husband just told me he shared some intimate information of our sex life to his male friend. I’m angry and upset about it. It felt like my privacy has been invaded. After telling him I’m unhappy about it, he just apologised and did not attempt to talk to me about it. Is this common between guys? How would you feel if you find out about it?

Currently 10+1, and realised I’m getting tired too easily. Will start to feel uncomfortable and tired even after going out for a while. Didn’t experience this in my first pregnancy.
