I was thinking of taking panadol extra to ease it off but read that the caffeine in the panadol may affect the baby. I tried taking 1 pill but can still feel the throbbing pain 😮💨
My appointment would only be 1 weeks time and was wondering if there's any other over the counter medicines which could help in the meantime. TIA!

- 2022-09-27Hi Mummies,
I am 15 weeks 2 days pregnant now and sometimes I feel something heavy moving very slightly in my abdomen.
It almost feels like a very very mild stomach upset ache which lasts for seconds and it goes.
Can it be me feeling my baby’s movements or is it just bloating or something else?
This is my first pregnancy so really have no clue on what it is.
Any tips or experiences on this?

- 2022-09-27Our 4 month old baby was diagnosed with severe eczema on his face and body. We tried several famous balms and creams but nothing works. In fact, it got worse. The whole family couldn't sleep well because of his night cries, he couldn't stop scratching, then his skin got infected with bacteria due to all the scratching. He has severe open wounds on his face and body. We went to visit a specialist Dr Chong Kids Medical & Eczema Clinic and the creams he gave us works immediately! We are very happy with the results. Worth the price. Great service. I recommend Dr Chong to all parents facing the same issue. Don't wait and let your baby suffer anymore.

- 2022-09-27My 2 weeks old baby boy had a follow up checkup at the hospital yesterday & the doctor says he has hernia. The paediatric surgeon further confirms he has hernia & expects us to admit my baby boy straightaway but I said to give me some time to think.
Has anyone gone through this surgery with your baby boys before? I am feeling lost, sad & confused, all I can do is cry. He's still a newborn & has to be operated already. 😭
I know some say it's a minor surgery but what should I expect post-surgery? As in, what precautions should I take in order to not aggravate the pain my baby is feeling. 😞

- 2022-09-27My husband and his MIL are not supportive of my breastfeeding journey. I am a FTM, and I just gave birth 1 week ago. I know all of this takes time to master the skill, and this is supply and demand one. But every time I told my husband, to open the book page for him to read about breastfeeding and latching position, he was somehow not interested to know this topic. Always got excused. Now, the MIL. His mother didn’t bfeed him. She is a very pro with formula milk. Every time she comes to our home, when I try to latch my baby, she likes to ask how? Got milk or not? How... does the baby want to drink? Then if she sees that the baby stops sucking or looks tired, she will comment “just give formula milk la”. I know she is really into formula milk. She won’t ask me to latch him when she is in our house and see the baby cries. I told her that all this takes time for my milk to have a bigger supply. I must breastfeed (supply and demand). If not he will have the habit with milk bottle, and I can’t produce milk. And this is for baby antibodies. But well what can I do when the senior mindset is already unsupportive from the start. Very hard to be convinced. Feeling sad and uncomfortable...

- 2022-09-28Hi mummies I'm a young, single parent that just gave birth to my first baby boy and is receiving tons of help from my family members which i'm grateful for. However I'm just so annoyed over the fact that I have to give in to my elders with their way of raising MY child??? i mean i get it, i need guidance and advice BUT for u to 'shape' my baby into someone u want? what is with all these "u have to study and get straight As/do this/do that" mindset??? EVEN me as his mummy i'm not expecting anything and its making me damn uncomfortable.
when complained to my mom she said its normal for them to be FUSSY and NOSY. tbh i only get to spend time and bond with my baby only at night. & THATS WHEN I NEED TO SLEEP???? WHEN WE ALL NEED TO SLEEP?????? in the morning-evening she'd always want to be the one changing his diapers and feeding him and basically do everything with him. i'm THANKFUL but whos the mum here?
+ not only that, in the first week of motherhood i was still adjusting to his sleeping patterns and is obviously super tired in the morning, yet my family member can still say "wah the mummy sleep the whole day ah like no kid to take care of" wahhh siao ah the anger in me is building up so much But i have to be 'respectful, patient' with them.
im so annoyed!!!!!!!!

- 2022-09-28I’m a foreigner, so I’m rather unfamiliar with how maternity care works in SG. I’ve asked some of the private hospitals (TMC/MAH/MNH) for their maternity packages and I noticed that they don’t seem to differ much - maybe ~1K difference but there are things the cheaper ones don’t cover (e.g newborn vaccines & tests). So I’m having a hard time understanding why a lot of people mentioned that MNH is the most expensive of all, when looking at comparisons online, it seems like doctors’ fees are the biggest deciding factor. Are there any additional things not mentioned in the maternity package that I should know?

- 2022-09-29- facial
- pedi/mani cures
- Brazilian waxing
- body massage/ foot massage
I realized for things like facial, pedi/mani and massage, some salon have prenatal versions. Is it necessary or I can still go on with my regular salon?
As for Brazilian waxing, most websites says it’s safe but have anyone done it during pregnancy?

- 2022-09-29I had very bad experience with mdm hanis Post natal Massage. She is never puncture on my session and do not have a fix timing to come on time every session and also having lots of request when I start our first session with her. She demand to turn on aircon, get her a stool and 4 towels to go with the massage and she lower down the temperature herself without my permission and request I must have spaghetti stripe to do binding otherwise afraid that she won't be able to do binding for me mentioned will cause allergy. This is my 4th pregnancy I never had masseur telling me that she cannot do binding with spaghetti stripe just like hunting in the jungle without certain equipment cannot hunt. I wanted to try her because of one review in SG mummy forum in 2008 quite long time ago but I am still curious about her skill so I wanted to try it out but to my surprise she is not turning up on time and every session she have excuses telling me she have heavy headache and refused to reply me. I still have 8 sessions with her and payment already fully settled. I am freaking unhappy with her excuses and arrangement because I can't have my meal on time or either bring baby for immunisation. Please do not engage her for her bad attitude and excuses otherwise will definitely regret for your decision. I hope I can tolerate her and finish up my session on quick and purpose of writing is to let all mummies be aware there are masseur with bad attitude around trying to collect full payment then refused to work.
please take note not to engage such masseur.

- 2022-09-29My 3yo uttered mommy when he saw my mil last night after three weeks not seeing her. He never call me mommy before. I thought maybe it's just a fluke so I tested him again with mil photos and he keep saying mil is mommy. I'm feeling really sad and disappointed as I'm the one that take care of my child. Mil likes him to call her in Cantonese "mama" which sounds very much like mama but in different tone. I teach him grandma as in tv cartoon but he forget everything. Should I be concerned?

- 2022-09-29Hi Mummies,
I am currently 15 weeks and 4 days pregnant and I don’t feel much.
I do see little bit belly but I feel like it is a fat belly and not pregnancy belly.
I don’t feel any baby movement as well yet.
Just feel sharp pain on and off in right side of abdomen!
Feeling almost nothing is making me worried. Did any of you experience this? Is this normal ? I keep thinking that since I don’t feel much, may be baby development is not happening properly :(
This is my first pregnancy and hence I could really use some advise.

- 2022-09-30I have a 32 months old boy. He doesn't need to night feed, only drink fm before bedtime. However, he doesn't sleep smoothly all the way. 2 to 3 hours after he sleep he will start to make noise or cry..back to sleep and then wee hours wake up cry 2 or 3 times.. on a good night, sometimes he can sleep all the way without making noise. Usually he wakes up to find his pacifier that has dropped off from his mouth, or just want to pat etc. Every once in awhile, he will have unconsoleable crying in the night. Pacifier checked, pat, no urine leaking etc. Last night he woke up at 12am crying and is unconsoleable. My husband was just starting to feel unwell down with bad sore throat and also tired from working so he just wants to have a good rest. However my toddler kept crying and we couldn't console him in the end husband slapped him twice in the face. Later on, he still make a few noises throughout and one of the time I patted his chest and held his hand and he fell bk asleep right away. However this morning at 7am he wakes up crying uncontrollably again and husband got mad drag and beat his hand and legs and carry him inside the storeroom and close the door. Less than 1 minute I went to open the storeroom door and try to calm him down. Was in the kitchen to fill his water bottle and give him water he broke down again lie down on the kitchen floor crying and shouting. I just let him shout and say u cry finish already stand up. It works. My heart broke several times last night. My boy is still not able to speak well yet (jus started to speak at 2.5yo when he sees dolphin on YouTube etc but not very clear pronunciation, some words are clear like ok, orange etc.) Last night I had no idea what happened to him and as he still can't tell us what he want yet and daddy is sick tired and frustrated. I drag to know what will happen tonight again. BTW I just had a newborn 2 weeks ago. My boy was coping well with his little sister and sayang her too. Not sure if it's the presence of newborn? However little sister is currently sleeping in a separate room with nanny. After nanny left, husband offered to take care of newborn and so he will sleep separately from us too. Wondering if it's normal for toddler to wake crying few times in the night? #pleasehelp #advicepls

- 2022-09-30hey momma's i just need to rant & get some emotional support here.. lately my soon to be hubs has been feeling cranky due to work as he works every night for 12 hours + dieting to save up for some marriage funds when we're officially married & so tht he can fit better in his wedding outfit.. we usually vc each other in the morning when he's reached home to rest & have small talk with each other but like i said he's been cranky lately due to work/dieting so we don't really talk much & it kinda hurts to feel a little ignored by him then when i try to get some of his attention he flinches.. i know he doesn't mean to be tht way & maybe i'm being self centered right now as i'm not in his position i don't really work due to having some health issues like gastric, asthma & anaemia tht i'm afraid will affect my pregnancy.. Anyways i really wanna try my best to support + understand him better but being preggo makes me have mood swings & cry easily over little things so i need advice on how to cope with this situation as i really don't wanna be self centered only caring about my feelings but not my soon to be husband as i love him so much 🥹❤️#advicepls #firsttimemom

- 2022-09-30I’m a foreigner, so I’m rather unfamiliar with how maternity care works in SG.

- 2022-10-01Low lying placenta - anyone has experience with this? On our FTS report it says under Placenta: Posterior cover os. Haven’t gone over the report with the doctor yet, but tried getting a maternity insurance meanwhile and was rejected because of it. After some research, found out it’s low-lying placenta which, if unresolved by third trimester, may pose a risk of placenta previa. That’s when the placenta blocks the opening of your uterus so that the baby cannot be born vaginally.
Our next appointment with the doctor is in 2 days, and we’ll ask all our questions then. But for now just wanted to know: how risky is this and how many of you managed to get this resolved naturally and how many didn’t? Apparently if it’s bad enough, I will need bed rest and must avoid strenuous activities, sex included (my poor fiancé lol).
Any input is much appreciated! Thanks all!
Update 3 Oct: Saw the doc today, she said that all pregnancies begin with low-lying placenta. It should move up by the next scan at Week 20 (in 6 weeks). Nothing to be alarmed about, just be careful not to run/jog, do weights more than 5kg, and not to have sex (how???). Hopefully everything will go well in the next 6 weeks!

- 2022-10-01Doctor says that my 5 months plus baby head circumference has grown too fast and is on the bigger side (more than 97th percentile). There is also head lag and baby is unable to turn over yet (soon I think, already trying very hard). My 5 months plus baby is born 37th week (not considered premature).
Doctor is proposing MRI (detailed scan) compared to Ultrasound to check on baby's head. However MRI will require baby to be under GA (General Anaesthesia).
Anyone who are in a similar situation or have any other suggestions and if we should go ahead with the doctor's advice for peace of mind?
If baby is just slower and able to hit milestones in the next couple of months, should I just ignore the MRI check as I do not wish to let my baby undergo unnecessary procedures. #advicepls #pleasehelp #othersuggestions #babyhead #delayedmilestones

I don't want to send the little one to infant care too soon, maybe only from 6 months onwards, but I don't know what to do from the time my mat leave ends to infant care. All advice welcome!

- 2022-10-01Got treated for a yeast infection with cream and the ovule to insert. One month later and I feel the infection is back. I am soooo sick of this. I shower twice a day, maintain good hygiene for my lady parts, I even resorted to buying disposable underwear, cutting sugar significantly, eating probiotics and cutting down on bread because idk if it causes yeast also. I am worried the cream / insert will have an impact on my baby. I’ve just entered my second tri … pls does anyone know how to keep this yeast infection away??? Or is it something I need to live with during pregnancy??
- 2022-10-01Not sure if it’s self-sooth? Other time of the day no scratching at all. Baby is turning 14 months soon. Noticed it since a month. Seen a Derm and said cradle cap but no obvious dried skin at all like newborn days.
- 2022-10-01Hieee. I kept pooping since yesterday (loose stools and not diarrhoea) and having very sore and sensitive nipples.
My next period is only due is around 3 weeks’ time. Usually I only have sore nipples and pooping 2 weeks before my period.
I remembered i had sore nipples very early and I thought it was pms but turned out to be pregnant.
Any mothers experienced this too?
- 2022-10-01FTM here. Up to how many weeks can I go for pre-natal massage?
