2022-01-10Do you skip/Are you skipping CNY eve reunion dinner with parents/in-laws/extended family because your little one goes to bed early? For the past years we have to go my in-laws' place for reunion dinner from 7+pm till 10+pm. Dunno how we are going to do that when my 7mo baby sleeps by 8pm, and it'll be disruptive to shift her from in-laws house to car and then back home while she is sleeping. Also, my in-laws place doesn't have spare room or any space at all where she can sleep quietly. Can't change to lunch because SIL does CNY eve lunch with her in-laws.

2022-01-10Hi, I will be delivering soon and utilizing 4 months of ML in one shot, and thus returning to work after the baby is 4 months old. My office is fine for me to WFH, and my parents are also fine to help take care of the baby at their place. Could you help to share what your post ML arrangements and experience is like? I'm not sure how much disruption to expect from the baby - if I can take care of the baby from home I will want to do so for as long as possible so I may latch; if not I'm not sure how and when to best transition the baby to the grandparent's house - I'll probably need to burn some annual leave to let the baby get used to spending time away from home. Its just me living with my husband and kid. Question: 1) How do mummies manage to attend appointment along with #1 while having #2 in the tummy if husband is working? 2022-01-10Parents, please check your LO fingers and toes every single day. My 2 months old LO almost got 3 of her toes remove but thankfully we send our LO on time to meet the specialist. It's very deep and the doctors suggested to stitch our LO toes but luckily the bone specialist told us that it will be very painful for our LO and recommended us some medications instead. PS. Before sending our LO to the specialist, my husband itchy hand removed a strand of hair on my LO toes but suddenly it bleeds a lot without stopping and he pressed some pressure to stop the bleeding, guess what our LO toes turned blue and we immediately called the ambulance. Please pray for our LO fast recovery. She's on medication now

2022-01-10My 19mo son started PG last month, and he’s been having anxiety and would cry if he can’t see my husband. He is very sticky to my husband. Initially he rejected his father due to work etc, but I made an effort to try and let them bind together and it worked! At first I thought it’s really sweet, because many people tells me that babies are usually closer to their mothers. But subsequently, I felt that baby doesn’t want me anymore. “Mummy go outside” “no mummy” ☹️ and my husband is the worst when it comes to building a bridge and bringing people together, I told him that I wished he did what I had done to try and encourage baby bond with me. It’s just me one-sidedly trying and it’s not working. I’m so exhausted and dejected. I’ve become a random lady who wakes up early to prepare his school bag before i go to work.. and then rush back home right after work to cook dinner.. and a random stranger who has to stay up late to pack up toys and clean up when everybody else is asleep. I am expecting our second bundle of joy now and I’m fearing that I can’t be a good mother.

2022-01-11Hi Mummies, is it better to feed on demand or make LO finish the recommended amount for her weight per feed - which can take up to 1-1.5hrs? Currently feeding on demand but the milk intake a day is only 500ml when the recommended milk intake is 700ml. Also, should I be waking baby up for a feed when LO is sleeping? LO can sleep up to 6hrs at a stretch. But we tried this and LO only drunk 60ml and went back to sleep again. LO is experiencing slow weight gain, so quite concern about her milk intake. Sigh. #pleasehelp

2022-01-11I just did my blood test and glucose test last week. Checked health hub and got the lab result. Glucose test was okay, but however my blood test shows that my white blood count is higher than the reference given, and red blood count is lower than the reference given. Startinvg to get worried if this will affect my pregnancy and the baby im carrying. Should i be worried? They mentioned that they will give a call if the results is not good, but it's been a week and i didnt receive any call from them yet. This makes me anxious and stress. Anyone face this situation before? My next appt is at the end of this month. The wait till the next appoinment is only stressing me out. Im just hoping that it won't affect the pregnancy.

2022-01-11Did cervical cerclage at 24 weeks. I was prescribed flagystatin pessary at 26 weeks cos I had some itches. First 2 times using the pessary was OK but on the 3rd time i bled bright red on the spot. It stopped overnight but now I have dark red discharge every few hours. 2022-01-11Hi all its my LO’s second week of IFC this week but we’ve received nothing but negative feedback about our LO, so much so that it has become very stressful for both LO and us to send her to school. Everytime we fetched her, there are no positive comments nor do we hear about what she does in school. Not sure if I am being too sensitive or if I am doing anything wrong but these are the things we’ve experienced so far and not sure if its a normal thing to experience in IFC: 1. Poor communication: Everyday a different teacher would welcome her at drop off and hand her over to us when we pick her up. Today, we had prepared a milk before we went to school but LO refused to drink so I brought it along and told the teacher during drop off that there is already a prepared milk in the bag and to try feeding her again an hour later. This was also written in the comm book, in case another teacher took over. When we picked her up, one of the teachers said we didn’t mention it to the teacher. How infuriating? 2. Negative comments about LO and parenting style: It’s only the second week of school so naturally my LO wouldn’t have adapted well yet since she’s only 3.5 months old. This includes her refusing to drink her milk and being cranky — which is expected of most babies in new environment. In her first week, a teacher commented that LO is “problematic”. Shouldn’t the teachers be more patient with infants who are new in this environment? Why are such comments being made to parents? If an adult requires ample time to adapt to a new environment, what makes you think a 3.5 month infant could do so in a week? One of the teachers commented today that she hasn’t been adapting well and we have to help by bonding with our LO by ensuring her routine care is fulfilled at home. This includes changing her diapers and feeding her before we leave for school — not sure if she is trying to insinuate that we haven’t been doing all these and just leave our LO in school without ensuring her basic needs are met? My baby smiles and laughs at home whenever we talk and play with her. If we are not bonded, I don’t think she would have achieved this social development milestone. Moreover, she seeks comforts by contact napping with me in the day. The teacher’s comment were demeaning, to say the least. (Note: We usually reach school at 9am. Travel time from our house to the school is a 10 min walk. The last diaper change is usually at 8:30am — right after her bath in the morning. Before leaving house, we try to feed her again, but most of the time she would refuse and she is already full from her 6am feed. She drinks 120ml every 3 hours). On the first day I was interrogated by a teacher on why I am not giving her breast milk as she is exclusively formula fed. I can understand if she were to ask what type of milk am I giving LO for her and her team to prepare accordingly, but to ask WHY I am not breastfeeding when I’m a low supply (my supply dried up within a month despite pumping and latching) mom might be insensitive and in this case unnecessary, unless she is a nurse or a PD (our PD didnt even ask why I wasn’t breastfeeding lol) Is this a red flag for IFC? Should we change centres? Its always hard to get a vacancy for IFC and we have minimal family support. Feeling so stressed as I will be back to work soon.

2022-01-12Just given birth on 5 Jan and baby having jaundice due to insufficient feeding as my breast milk only kick in after day 4. Due to this, I to try pump and top up with formula and bottle feed. But now the issue is after bottle feed for a few days, my little one seems to experience nipple Confusion. She will cry and get frustrated when I try latch her on. I am so sad that she can't seem to switch over from bottle to my latch on. What can I do. If insufficient feed, I worry the jaundice will not clear fast.

2022-01-13My newborn baby always wana be carried, everytime we wan to put her back to cot she will cry n scream like duno wat. Such behaviour really prevented us from doing anything else. 2022-01-14Currently 29 weeks and i kept getting reminders from MOH to get my booster shot asap before it lapses in March but i’m really worried about the side effects since I got my 2nd shot when I was 4 weeks pregnant (unknowingly) and i had high fever, rashes and the jab area was swollen. My husband didn’t get any side effects for both his vaccinations but had fever for days during his booster shot so I’m guessing booster shot has more side effects than the first 2? My gynae gives the green light and said the booster shot is safe but i’m worried if my fever (my fever goes up to 39-40 on average) would affect my baby? Any mummies to be taken the booster shot already? And do you guys have any side effects?

All seems fine. 10 jan i went clinic to cfm on pregnancy. doc mention im abt 4weeks preg as my 1st day of last mense is 13th dec. N im regular. Everyday was ok. Slight nausea. Sleepy. 14 jan. I went nap 2 hrs. Woke up with a feeling of full bladder. And i went pee. Wipe. Blood on tissue. Look down. Toilet bowl is just red colour. Went kkh o&g. Did a transvaginal scan. Cant see baby in womb. Did blood test. My hcg is near 900. Monday need do blood test again. Anyone had same experience? Do advise.

For the past 2 weeks, she keep throwing tantrum in the morning and refusing to go to school, refusing to do healthchecks at the door and had to be carried in most of the time. But inside the school, she always play and laugh very well and is very happy when we go fetch her. For the same 2 weeks she also kept throwing tantrum most of the nights, refusing sleep and also nightmare. The only change is 1 teacher, whom she will hug so I guess it's not due to her. I’ve seen my OB in SG last Dec 30 (I’m 34 weeks pregnant), the estimated fetal weight is 2.3kg.
