2022-05-09I find this incident upsetting and I’m annoyed by this character. BIL is a doctor but not PD. Every meet up, he loves to examine my LO and comment on her growth. I get annoyed by his comments because an incident happened to my LO when she was only 2wks old during one evening. My LO happened to be crying nonstop, fussy and inconsolable, and as first time parents, we didn’t know what to do and he was there. He witnessed that and commented that my LO’s tummy was tender, looks bloated, need to burp LO. After two hours..my LO was still crying, his comment was continue to burp LO on the phone. Honestly, his observations on my LO made me very worried. I was extremely lost..and my hub and I rushed our LO to hospital for a check immediately that night. She cried the entire night. The nurses took my LO temp and detected low grade fever.. she cried for the past 2-3hrs (of course the body is warm), and said need to admit for observation to check. Looking back, I’m upset with myself for listening and believing in him so much, broke my heart to see my 2wks LO go through so much unnecessary pain (ie drew her blood, pasted urine bag around her genital area to collect her pee, but failed multiple times cus she pooped, lying down on a cold cot) at the hospital ward. Knowing that babies are naturally gassy, I could’ve been more patient, try to soothe my LO at home. Last evening, BIL brought up this incident again over dinner, and over exaggerated by saying that my LO couldn’t stop vomiting that night. I cannot. I stopped him by saying she was just inconsolable and we didn’t know what to do. Until he becomes a dad, he should just keep quiet. After that incident, I reminded myself to listen to my heart and speak up, especially for my LO. I’m glad my LO has been growing very well and I’m more confident in managing her now.

2022-05-09Every weekend we will go to my mil house and spend at least five to six hours there. Everytime we are there, my mil will teach baby some bad habits eg. banging utensils on the table, playing with fruits that others still haven’t eat. Then each time he come back, the next day he will start to do the same at home and I have a hard time correcting him. She let him play everything, even plastic spoon that have sharp edges etc. I really don’t know how to deal with this situation. Then when she has cough or not well, she still want to carry baby. 2022-05-10Hi Mummies, sorry for the long rant ahead. I'd a HCG blood test done on last Fri and on Monday, to compare the levels over 72h. Results came back but not in ideal range. Usual HCG should be doubling, or at least 60 to 70% increase, but mine was only around 30% :( so far, I should be into my 7th or 8th week, but due to bloating, ultrasound was unclear only manage to capture a shadow in gestational sac. However, my morning sickness thru the day is still going strong with all the bloating and fatigue. Only seeing Gynae this Fri, and I'm still worried :( already on Duphaston currently, what else can I do?

2022-05-11So I was sick yesterday (cough, sore throat, headache, flu and body aches. Covid Neg.) and was bedridden till 10Pm ish I managed to drag myself up to eat something. My husband took a day off yesterday as I couldn’t take care of my baby and also my fil was covid positive (no interactions) hence everyone in the family self quarantined in their own rooms. Today I asked if he was going to work and he said yes. From what I saw, he told his colleagues that he will be reporting to work at 11am yesterday (when I was probably almost dead?). If he were to tell them at 11pm instead I probably would have understand him instead. And in this case, he probably valued his work more than my health and expected me to recover in a day. So I asked him, if I’m not feeling well later, who do I pass the baby to? And he blamed me??? He said i always make him last min??? We are already not on good terms before that, always quarreling over small things and I’m really damn sian already. Am I being self entitled? Please let me know if you feel like I am so I can do some self reflection. Update: Guess who is covid positive with a baby stucked with no one to take care 😋

My working destination requires me to walk uphill and im always late to work due to this. Mind you i start work at 7.30 am and my journey normally takes an hour. Prior to knowing I was pregnant, my lifestyle for the past 8 weeks was terrible. I drink, partied and smoke (not a heavy smoker) almost everyday. I’m also a sashimi lover. 2022-05-11Hi all! Would like to hear some insights on to why you chose subsidise/private for your labour. I'm pregnant with #2 and am still contemplating whether I should go the sub route or private. First born was KKH subsidised and I kinda find that we're not given much of a choice in decision making (like not wanting to induce, not able to give our birth plan etc). Docs there also seemed to not give any information I need to know or tell me how fetus is doing. 😅 Always the same 'all is normal,will see you next appt' and then I'm done. 🥲 So this time round , I feel like going through subsidise but then upgrade to private later on. (Is that possible? How do I go about it?) What should I prepare for if I chose private? Any recommendations (I'm staying Toa Payoh , so was thinking of either KKH / TMC). Is it worth it taking private as compared to sub? As I don't wanna burden my husband also with the costs 😅 furthermore , it's just a 2-3 days stay at hosp if there's no complications so I don't think I'd want to spend a huge amount of money hahaha! But if I take sub , isit possible for me to get a 4 bedded ward instead of a 6 bedded ward? 😅 Do advise and hope to hear some of y'all stories if you've been through both sub/Pvt and what made you chose ? 2022-05-11My LO has just learned to flip a few days back. He used to do it with a lot of grunting and yelling, but had become quite good at quietly flipping today. He likes to do this at night (I don't know if he wants to sleep on his stomach) but he is only 2.5mo and cannot hold his head up for more than 2mins. Any advice please on how to create a safe environment for him and if he will suffocate coz his neck isn't strong enough yet? Relatives have advised to put pillows at his sides to stop him rolling but online advice was to remove all blankets and pillows in case he suffocates. These online advice seems to be for 4-6mo which is the usual age for rolling over though, I'm not sure if they apply for my LO.#pleasehelp #1stimemom

2022-05-11Week4 i had very bad cramps & headache daily, early week5 i suddenly lost all symptoms. I started popping Dydrogesterone (2 pills/day) since last Thursday (gynae prescribed me since I am having spottings. Yesterday morning I had extreme tummy ache (~1hour) with fainty feel. It was not due to hunger, as I ate heavy breakfast at 930am. The pain & fainty feel lasts ~1030am to ~1145am. I feel so worried, is this a sign of miscarriage? 2022-05-11Hi all, I’m not sure what I expect of this but I’m currently 4 months pp- in fact baby just turned 4 months yesterday. I’m due to go back to work a week from after having to extend my ML for a week. I was excited to go back to work but I recently received an email of the work that “needs” to be done since “I was not able to help out” with the work ever since I took ML. I felt insulted as if my ML wasn’t taken seriously and that as if I was shaking my legs at home doing nothing- as so what that email read. I’m upset because my entire 4 months of ML, I was still chased after for work and even worst, was asked to attend a course. Which of course, I didn’t. Right now, I have no drive to go back because of the environment and quitting seems like the best. But my only concern is that I’m also contributing to my own food and baby’s necessity since my husband is stingy, for the lack of a better word. I have no savings since the past few months, my money was focused on house bills, phone bill, baby’s needs and mine. And I’m just upset- that I can’t even have my own cash on hand to have the freedom to quit and not worry. My husband don’t seem to understand the situation and it’s taking a toll on my mental health. I don’t know what else to do but I’m definitely not returning to a workplace who doesn’t respect me. I’ve tried to look for jobs for months, but to no avail. 2022-05-12Hello mummies, My 2.5 YO, after attending sch for a year, still cries at drop off. 😢 it’s just at the point of entrance where she is reluctant to go in.. she usually stops crying once she is inside but I observed that she then tend to follow her teacher around. Not quite like other kids who will play with one another. But at pick up, she seems fine though. I have tried many ways to coax her into not crying but failed most of the time. I also felt that she is trying very hard. Sometimes she will promised me she won’t cry to school but eventually still ended up crying. Any advice from fellow mummies here? Thank you!

I just want to sleep all day long. My son threw tantrums nowadays and have been scolding him till he cry. At the end of the day, i will cry when i look at him sleeping on my hands. And im also stressed up because doctors have been saying that its very early for me to get pregnant again. I really feel like im a bad mum.

2022-05-12FTM here, and I’ve had morning sickness in my first trimester that went away around the 15th week mark. Now that I’m in my 23rd week, somehow out of the blue I started to get nausea again but this time it’s filled with a lot of gas that made me burp non-stop. 2022-05-12Hi mummies, I was an oversupply EP mum with my first child n oversupply DL with my second, however recently my lo fell sick n it affected his appetite quite abit for about almost 2 weeks, within this period due to ulcers from HFMD he couldn't stand to latch for more than say 6mins before pulling off n screaming. He is now recovered but still isn't latching on for more than 10mins, max he'll latch for about 15 but that's uncommon :/ Before he fell sick, his average was 15-20mins, 2-4hrly n now it's 6-10mins, 2-3hrly. He's currently 11 weeks old. Anyway, due to this I can feel that my supply has dipped quite alot, I can barely pump out anything after feeding or in place of a feed when I could easily pump out a full feed for him after latching previously.. is there anything I can do other than power pumping or supplements? I'm currently spamming legendairymilk supps as they've worked for me in the past n pumping once or twice a day. Should I start pumping after every feed? #breastfeeding #baby #help

2022-05-13Just wanna share and seek some advises. Did a vaginal and abdominal scan this morning and manage to see something vague within. V scan shows a little dot flickering (that should be the heartbeat). However, I was too gassy and it sort of disrupted the scan. Abdominal scan captured very faint heartbeat of abt 159bpm. My gynae wants me back in 1 wk and must see sth more obvious Is the faint heartbeat normal? I am wondering if faint heartbeat is a sort of pleasant news for myself and baby! And, how to reduce the gassyness within?
2022-05-13Dear mummies I’ve been having nauseous since week 6 , it was quite bad and I didn’t have appetite for any food. However, I’m unsure if this is partially due to the fact I was having dengue too. After I recovered from dengue, my nauseous has improved though I’m still taking the nauseous medication from my gynea. I’m a bit concern for sudden stop in nauseous. Did anyone have same experience before ?

Previously I gave birth to 2 of my elder kids in Malaysia, under private hospital with a selected gynea who supported my birth plan well, i went through both birth naturally, no epidural, no forceps/suction intervention, just episiotomy and breaking of water bag for 1st child. I hope to have the same birth for my 3rd child as much as I can in KKH but a bit worried coz under subsidized now. Is there any recommendation of a pro natural doctor in KKH that i can switch to who can support my birth plan well too? Prefer a female doctor too btw. Its a must for me to exercise before meals and after meals. for my blood sugar level be okay. when i get too tired and fall asleep after doing housechores, wakeup check my 2hour blood sugar level its high 😭 i'm feeling so stress i dont feel like eating anything at all. everything i consume is not good enough. i just wanna cry cause thrid trimester is already so very hard with the backaches, the sleepyness,tiredness,anxiousness. i dont even know what to do anymore 😢

I really desire for a unrushed and unmedicated natural birth with hopes of unnecessary intervention unless me or baby is in danger. Idw to be pressured to get a c sect or epidural just because the doc wants to rush. 2022-05-14I’ve been having very painful aches which I know is normal. However I still drive to send and fetch my husband to and from work everyday (he works in fnb, so it’s the only way I have more time with him). Today he prioritised going to watch a football match with the neighbours at midnight rather than be with me even though we already have so little time together. And I’m sure it’s also bc he knows I fetch him from work just now and tmr morning I will be sending him again. Am I being selfish..? I feel like part of me is, but a bigger part of me needs him also during this last lap.. it’s not easy being alone in the day in pain everywhere. I let him make the decision after telling him I’m in pain today. He still decided to go for the match instead of he with me. Im so heartbroken that I find myself wishing my baby would come sooner so that he would pay more attention to me or something. Or maybe it’s just my hormones. Idk. Just needed to rant bc im not sure why this is affecting me so much.. #1stimemom
