- 2022-04-18Does anyone had experience delivering here at PEH, how is it? Did they allowed your husband to stay overnight with you at room after operation, because the admission informed me that my husband or 1 accompanied only allowed from 9:30am to 9:30pm, then you'll be the one alone or only one left with nurse assistance if ever... even if i get the single room husband stay only from 9:30am to 9:30pm.. i dont know if its because of the pandemic, anyone experienced it?

- 2022-04-18Hi mummies. I am currently in my 4th pregnancy. I am 17 weeks 3 days. Does anyone else go through extreme fatigue in the second trimester? My other 3 pregnancies I don't go through fatigue at all.. Anyone knows the cause? Or how do I manage it? I nap everyday after sending my girls to childcare. But I still wake up extremely tired, I couldn't get up from bed. My body is super weak and I still feel tired. I usually set an alarm for 1 hour but end up waking after 3-4hrs. I couldn't hear my alarm(most probably from being extremely tired) I sleep around 11pm-12am at night and wake up at 6am every morning. #pleasehelp

- 2022-04-18Hello! May I know how many newborn/3M/6M clothes did you mummies prepare for your newborn baby?? Is it okay to wear bodysuit to sleep at night (without shorts/pants)? Or must it be long pajamas with covered toes? I know that babies outgrow their clothes v fast, but I’m wondering just how much is enough if we don’t do laundry everyday, but once every 2 days?
Thank you!!
- 2022-04-18Hi i been late for 13 days period this month, last month my I'm not sure if I'm period or not as my blood does not flow or heavy much like normal, only 3 days but just a little bit like we having 5 days. Recently I'm having a miscarriage.

- 2022-04-18Hello mommies! My husband and I are seeing a gynae from Mt Alvernia now and we’re 8 weeks pregnant. We’ve been asked to consider whether we want to do the OSCAR ($450 before GST) or NIPT test ($1.2K before GST).
Can I ask:
- Which test should I go for? I’m currently 28 years old and more inclined to go with OSCAR because of the lower cost.
- Is it possible to have the test at KKH to leverage on their lower price for the test, but stick to our gynae at Mt Alvernia? My husband and I wanted a dedicated gynae which is why we went with private hospital but the gynae visits are proving to be really expensive, and even the price of the test is higher :(
Thank you so much!

- 2022-04-18Hello mummies!
I am currently 12weeks pregnant and my morning sickness have been quite a tough one for me. I had 2 weeks of HL but not well rested as work still bugs me. Have any of you mummies out there have taken NPL throughout your pregnancy? I am thinking of consuming all of my leave and take up NPL till I pop in Oct and then continue with ML.
I have no motivation to work cause all I do is puke and felt lightheaded. Looking at the computer screen for too long too, causes my head to spin and ended up feeling lousy and non productive.
I need some advice please. 😩 #pleasehelp #firstbaby #1stimemom

- 2022-04-19Hi mummies!
Am currently in week 12, almost to the 13th week. The app shows that my smell will be increasing and more sensitive to surroundings. Which I have been expediting making me gag even more 😭
When does the smell slowly go down? Do mummies experience lesser (stronger) smells in the 2nd trimester?
Been so tired holding my breath and gagging all the time 😭 help a mummy out!

- 2022-04-19Hi,
I am 12 weeks pregnant (PR in SG). Have been going to KKH under subsidy. Next appointment will be on 15th and 20th weeks. I understand that if I chose a specific doctor then I would be treated as private and so no more subsidy from that point onwards.
1. When will I be able to choose a doctor?
2. How does that procedure go and what are the costs like? Is there a maternity package I can sign up for in KKH itself?
3. Will I be given a list of doctors to choose from?
If you have been through this before please help to clarify. Thanks 🙏

- 2022-04-19I really really adore and love my 3MO girl.
But... There's never a day that she doesn't cry murder. Even feeding her is hard now. She'll be drinking for awhile then suddenly cry murder for no reason. Afterwards, it'll be even harder to feed her.
It's like i dont even know when she wants to eat anymore. When it had been 3hrs since her last feed and she's whining/crying, i give her the bottle and sudd she cries murder. Oh god, cant she just push the bottle away & dont cry.,
Leap or no leap, she loves to cry.
I'm tired.. I'm bored.. i cant wait for maternity to end and be back to work.

- 2022-04-20Hi Everyone,
May I know for KKH Private, when will the DR start giving HL?
Seeing this female DR 2nd time and the experience is dam bad! First Appointments at 4pm, seen and left clinic only at 6pm, waited 1.5hrs and the consultation was like less then 10mins!!! Very rush and unfriendly feel! 2nd appointment was worst, 2pm appointment but waited for dam long and the left clinic timing also 6pm+….
Feels like changing DR but was told by the clinic L staffs that even if want to change have to see the “new” DR if she’s willing to take in us as her patient or not.
Then now having serious morning sickness and joints pain. But the DR she kept saying “it’s normal symptoms for pregnancy”, told her that during later half of the day condition will worsen up and abdomen will be very pain and as such also resulted during night having difficulties sleeping.. but instead of giving leaves or helps, the DR she say if that’s the case you come in to urgent OG when it happens. This is so ridiculous! Do your face the same respond and issue with KKH Private DR?
Am very worried that anything will happen to baby or own body health as it’s first pregnancy and DR is not helping much at all.
Worst is now company knowing that am pregnant is forcing me to throw in my resignation letter! But if resign doubt can apply for GPML or GPMB? Please advice on this. As known GPMB is within 12months needs to be working for at least 90days, but I’m not a contract staff. If I really throw in my resignation letter, am I able to still get the benefits?

This is so ridiculous! Do your face the same respond and issue with KKH Private DR?
Am very worried that anything will happen to baby or own body health as it's first pregnancy and DR is not helping much at all. She’s like rushing and whatever she says if like all from the book like this!
Worst is now company knowing that am pregnant is
forcing me to throw in my resignation letter! But if resign doubt can apply for GPML or GPMB? Please advice on this. As known GPMB is within 12months needs to be working for at least 90days, but I'm not a contract staff. If I really throw in my resignation letter, am I able to still get the benefits?

May I know for KKH Private, when will the DR start giving HL?
Seeing this female DR 2nd time and the experience is dam bad! First Appointments at 4pm, seen and left clinic only at 6pm, waited 1.5hrs and the consultation was like less then 10mins!!! Very rush and unfriendly feel! 2nd appointment was worst, 2pm appointment but waited for dam long and the left clinic timing also 6pm+.
Feels like changing DR but was told by the clinic L staffs that even if want to change have to see the "new" DR if she's willing to take in us as her patient or not.

- 2022-04-21hello! Just wanna ask if any mama's started formula as soon as baby is born? I am a 2nd time mama and planning not to breastfeed my 2nd baby as I really want to spend more time with my first and 2nd born and want to be more attentive to the both of them....
if so, do you feel guilty or what kind of emotions you feel?
I mean I am not selfish to not breastfeed correct? :((
- 2022-04-21Exhausted really. I’m so close to birth.
Today I woke up extremely different. I was extra tired, extra in pain, im talking about migraine, blurred vision, nausea, loss of balance, rib pains, my legs & arms, sometimes i feel like they weren’t there.
I went over to KKH because ^^ it’s too much. No i didn’t head over thinking it was time for labor or anything i just wanted the pain checked out. I arrived to the urgent o&g, this is after they failed to pick up my called 3 times because idw waste my time coming down should it be ‘ normal ‘, told them briefly what was up, they brought me to the delivery suite, checked me for cervix dilation & all. Which was weird as i didn’t mention anything about labor. On 3 occasions i tried speaking to the nurse who bought me up, the counter nurse & the nurse who attended to me that I’m here for my pains & not for birth. Two sorta ignored me & asked for my details instead, 1 listened but told me to wait for the doctor. So then the doctor came, did the cervix check, so again i tried telling him what I was here for but instead was ‘ scolded ‘ for technically giving them the wrong impression that I was going into labor. He then just told me he’ll see me in my next appointment. Then i was sent to the counter for payment. So now I just got home, still in pain, still the same score pain of 8/10, probably thinking if I should head to NUH tonight should the pain persists. Would it be too late? Is my baby dying hence the pain? I don’t even know & im way too numb emotionally right now cause I’m just so tired.

- 2022-04-21Hi Mummies,
I’m a ftm going to be due soon in 2-3 weeks and looking to breastfeed my baby as much as possible. I understand that for ftm milk supply may kick on slightly later. I read online that colostrum is enough for newborn as their intake is not that much during their first few days. Is it true that in order to collect the colostrum, i must hand express manually using a manual pump because baby won’t be able to suck as it is thick? I already have Spectra S1- i read that it’s not advisable to use an electric pump as it will leads to oversupply right?
Any advice from experienced mummies are welcome for me to understand better.. Thank you 😊
- 2022-04-21Hello mummies can check anyone gave birth at Thomson recently? What's your experience and do I need to bring my own breast pump? Thank you!

- 2022-04-21Hi mummies, I have recently started mixed feed for my 7 months old. I got Enfamil Gentlelease and noticed that she had also had a very coarse voice after that. Doesn't seem to bother her much, went to the PD and was told that her throat is not sore.
Is it because enfamil is a very heaty fm? She is prone to vomits and gassy tummy.
What other FMs would you recommend?

- 2022-04-21Dear fellow mummies, I have an oversupply and require some advice. My oversupply started when baby was 3 weeks old. I'm now 6 months into breastfeeding. I only managed to latch my baby when she's 2 months because she was a tiny baby and couldn't latch. But by that time, I'm ald overproducing and had to pump concurrently to relieve engorgement pain. Ive never bothered about the over supply issue because I've been donating and so far it hasn't given me any mastitis or clogged ducts. However, recently I started getting more forceful letdown causing unsuccessful latching (which caused uncontrollable spraying), choking, and milk leakage on the opposite breast. Over the months, I tried dropping pump sessions and now I'm at 2-3 pumps per day. I want to fully latch my baby for feeds but I'm still unable to do so. even with only 2 pumps, I can yield 1-2 litres per day. And yes, I'm still getting engorgement pain at 6 months post pregnancy.
do GPs have medications to reduce my milk supply? I know some would advice to leave the breast incompletely drained but i dont like the feeling of partially drained breast and im afraid it may lead to mastitis. Any kind advice? TIA #pleasehelp #advicepls #1stimemom #firstbaby #breastfeeding

- 2022-04-22Hi mummies. My baby is 2mth19 days now. We noticed a change in the amount of milk she’s drinking. She used to finish her milk from bottle (bm), sometimes we even need to top up because she wasn’t satisfied. But now, since 2 weeks ago (and ever since our nanny has left) the trend is she can’t finish what we’ve prepared for her. She’s supposed to be drinking 110ml now but seems like the intake ranges from 70 to 110ml, she does finish all 110ml sometimes. she’ll cry when she’s hungry but will stop drinking (i presume she’s full).
She does pee and poop well, gaining weight too. Can also suckle well between bottle teat and breast. I’m just puzzled by this because I thought she should be drinking more according to her weight.

- 2022-04-22I'm very upset this morning and throughout the whole of today. A little background husband has no or little income for 2 years and yesterday sold his car. I'm ok to go without car and take it as exercising. However I don't know what is wrong with him. Usually he will drive LO to sch but as there is no car now, we all walk to sch for the first time this morning. Early morning he scolded LO for being naughty. Then when we dropped off LO to sch and walk, he walks in front of me (while I'm pregnant with a big tummy alrdy). Fine as he always walk very fast. Then as I followed him walk we all walked home. I was wondering how come never go and eat breakfast. Last evening we bought buns for LO but realised this morning the buns are otah which is very spicy and not suitable for LO. So I didn't know husband walked home because he has breakfast which are the otah buns and I don't eat otah so I have nothing else for breakfast. To make matter worst, he gave me silent treatment all the way and never asks me what I want for breakfast or inform me that he is going to eat the otah buns den I'll go buy my own breakfast. I got very upset because i have another little one in my tummy that needs to eat too and he doesn't care. Anyway I realised few times that he loses his temper easily at me and keep saying his bank left how much no money etc. So maybe this morning is the start of a different lifestyle without car and he just give me silent treatment. After we reached home 1 hr plus, I confronted him but he says he's not angry at me den I say how come never asks me about breakfast. However he dunno wad to say. I am still feeling angry and upset now.

- 2022-04-22Hi, can I ask what medicine does doctor provide usually during the first trimester? Doctor prescribed duphaston even when I do not have any spotting issues but read about the many side effects. Hence unsure if I should take it.

- 2022-04-22Hi mommies. Just have a question. I took prenatal massage package that comes with bathing and also massaging baby. However I have a concern. The lady massaged my baby roughly especially baby’s tummy area. It breaks my heart of course. But she said it’s fine. She’s an experienced masseuse and has done it all her life even for her own grandkids. I mean, is it REALLY fine for newborn babies to be massaged so roughly?
- 2022-04-23My baby is 11wo and he has been waking throughout the night. Literally every 45min to 1.5h max. He doesn't actively latch for long except for a few. In the day he can sleep by himself for some naps, sometimes he lies on my chest or shoulder and I pat till he's asleep and put him down, but all his naps are either 30min or 40min and he wakes crying. Because of the short naps everday is just making him sleep, like every 30min. I have finally carried him throughout the whole nap on a couple of occasions and he managed to nap close to 1h or more than 1h. Tried carrier but it made my boobs sore and I'm afraid of blocked ducts. Will he outgrow this and what can I do so that he can sleep longer stretches? I can't be carrying him all the time. Do I have to do sleep training or what other gentler ways are there?

- 2022-04-23Hi all, first time dad here.
Lately me and my wife has been arguing a lot lately. She has been this way since our daughter was born.
I understand that she's going through a really hard time right now, breastfeeding a growing baby with everchanging needs. Bear in mind we have no maid/anyone helping out.
Maybe due to being a first time mum too that she's so stressed, but I'm really unsure if it's the post partum stress..or just her. I'm already considering going family counselling or something, as I'm on the edge.
One of the examples of our unnecessary arguments is:
I got home from work slightly later due to traffic, and get mocked at for being home late? Really?
I'm also doing my best as a husband to support her, but it seems it's never enough. I'm really frustrated, been trying to get her to sit down and discuss but she's more caught up with taking care of our baby instead.
Can someone#advicepls ? Hoping to get a good answer and clear my head.

- 2022-04-23Just wanna know what you guys think. I went out with my 2 month old baby and he's on formula. I packed some milk powder just in case he's hungry.
Is it normal that i feed him in the public? Because idk why people was staring at me. Do you guys prepare your milk and feed LO in public too?
My baby vomited too, think he drank too fast. Almost everyone there was like silently judging me. Should i even feel embarrassed that happen?
- 2022-04-23I have two babies #1 3yo and #2 1yo. I have to put them to sleep in separate room because they will wake up in different time to cry for some reasons in the midnight. So me and hubby have to sleep in separate room too. Hubby with #1 and me with #2. Recently #1 will wakes up cries and stays awake for 2 3 hours. I can hear the crying clearly from next room and will tell hubby to prepare milk or ways to put him back to sleep. I can't go over because #2 will wakes up when I'm away. Tried ask my hubby to sleep with #2 before while I put #1 back to sleep but hubby couldn't settle #2 when he cry. So at the end we have two crying and awake babies. Sometimes I just feel that my hubby didn't put enough effort to put #1 back to sleep. I know he is tired from work and frustrated when couldn't sleep well due to #1. I tried to talk to him before but he goes mad if I said he is not putting enough effort. I'm grateful that he gives me the master room. What should I do? I pity #1 but I can't leave #2. I want both of my babies to sleep with me but I don't know how to give them good sleep if put them together.
- 2022-04-23Hi mummies! My newborn baby is 1month plus by now. But his weight is 3.6kg. Is it normal?
- 2022-04-23Im w5d4 today. And have been having brown discharge for 11 days and counting.
It started off with what look like spotting. Coffee ground colour. N it looks dried.
Then sometimes a needle length streak brown.
Then goes back to a few spots.
Then a streak..
It varies from brown to dark brown.
So now it looks less dried but more to like dark brown mixed with our usual transparent discharge. Thus becoming brown n texture is a little more to normal discharge texture.
Doesnt fill up the panty liner. As per photo. Its one streak. Everyday. Only daytime.
Usually late afternoon to night. Nothing.
No pain no cramps..nth.
Im just getting tired of having to wear liner daily and why i keep having this.
Im eating duphaston too, eating it for 8 days already. When first started this spotting discharge, doc checked and said my cervix is closed and no active bleeding.
(Did my scan during my week 4.. There is gestational sac and yolk sac)
