2022-03-21I encounter pain when I pee. My gynae did physical check and urine culture to rule out UTI or any other causes. All was good. So she suspect that my urine might be too acidic. Could be the food I take. I eliminated all my sour preserved fruits n ginger. The pain go away. Does anyone has similar encounter like this? 2022-03-21Hi mummies, I’m in a dilemma here. My son will be going to playgroup in a few months’ time and he’s still on full BM now. I’m a SAHM so this will be his first time going to school. I understand that the school only accepts packet milk or formula. I prefer to give my son UHT fresh but each packet is at least 200ml, and my son can only drink 100-120ml each time. Is there any UHT 100% fresh milk that comes in small size (less than 200ml)? Or is it possible that he drinks half a packet for breakfast and the other half before nap? Seems like UHT milk needs to be refrigerated once opened, and I don’t want to trouble the centre to heat up the milk just for him. Appreciate any advice. 2022-03-21Hi all, I’m 2 weeks into my confinement and objectively, my confinement nanny has been great. She handles my baby well, cooks well and cleans up the house well too. But I’ve been having this feeling of the nanny having double standards that I get a bit frustrated/annoyed and I’m wondering if it’s just my insecurity as a new mum. For example, she tells us (husband and I) to try not to carry baby to sleep too often lest the baby gets used to it. But then when baby gets fussy she carries baby to sleep. 2022-03-21My baby is 1 month old and is on formula milk. These 2 days he is throwing up thick sticky milk which didn't happen previously. And when he lays down in his cot, it sounds like he has stuffy nose (like snoring sound). When we try to clear his nose with the nose clearer, nothing comes out. 2022-03-21My baby now 16 months keeps getting fever every month since he's 6 months old. It always lasts for 5 days to a week and always high grade fever. Every time the doc says it's viral but I noticed before the fever onset, he will drool a big deal and chew his hand. But doc says teething wouldn't caused high fever. Anyone has similar experience?

2022-03-22I am currently 15 weeks and this is my first pregnancy. I have been experiencing headache since few weeks ago. It happens almost like everyday early in the morning like 5am/6am even before i wake up. The pain will be starting from neck and all the way up to my head and like those squeezing kind of pain and sometimes is really unbearable. I have been in the office only a couple of times, and each encounter was a brush closer to covid (colleagues I met that day were announced to have covid the next day). No idea of what covid can do to my foetus but I am super worried about going back to the office now especially after the latest NUH incident mom getting covid and the unexplained profused bleeding. But my company is now really forcing ppl to come back (never said gonna fire but it might come to monetary punishment). Will a gynae be willing to give a letter not to go back to the office for this reason? Can the company behavior be reported to somewhere too? 2022-03-22Hi mummies,i just gave birth and i have a toddler with me,while my toddler is quite easy to handle,i can't seem to say the same as my newborn. The problem is,he sleeps so well in the living room but doesn't seem so in the bedroom. We have a/c on and he sleeps in his crib but every 30 mins he will be awake. Fed him and he went back to sleep only to wake up again 30 mins later. 2022-03-23Hi mummies! My baby is turning 3 months in 3 days. These last 2 wks I noticed his hunger has reduced hence feeding frequence also changed from every 2 hrs, suddenly 4 or more hours. I’m just worried because he is suppose to eat more when growing instead of decreasing right? By the way, he is on formula. He seems to be happy and not fussy. It’s just that it’s a sudden decline of milk intake. When he was 2 month old he is drinking 3-3.5 oz every 2 hrs. Now he will drink the same but after every 4-5 hrs. 2022-03-23Hi mummies, let me know if you heard of this theory and whether it is true. Usually when I breastfeed my baby on one side, I would place the Haakaa on the other side to catch the milk. Does the amount of milk caught in the Haakaa equates to the amount of milk baby drinks from drinking breast? 2022-03-23My 3 month old combination fed baby recently begin pooping only once in 3-4 days. When he does poop, it is mustard, runny and soaks the whole diaper (refer to pic). He has been drinking less as compared to when he was 1-2 months old but still clocks 500-600ml or more each day. He would however fuss/cry during feeds/refuse the bottle at times. He has always been quite bloated. He is otherwise a happy baby and gaining weight. Are these normal?
2022-03-23LO is on mix bottle feed 90ml. We've also been giving her pacifier in the day to sleep when needed. No issues with feeding the past month. She has been sleeping in the day w/o swaddle. Recently, she doesn't want to be fed in the day at the 3hr mark (after waking up from nap, crying). After the 4th hour, she still doesnt want to eat. When the bottle touches her mouth, she'll cry uncontrollably. Then I'll console her & rock her to sleep or play w/ her. Only when she's half awake or asleep in the day, then she'll accept the bottle and drink until almost finish. In the past, whenever she cries waking up & her mouth chomps left right, she'll easily take the bottle. Recently, it seems like she doesn't chomps left right even at the 3hr mark. So far, no issues with night feeds. She sleeps with a swaddle and fusses for feed twice at night (~3am & 6am). I'm tired of figuring out what to do :( She has been a good happy baby for the past month.. so why now? :(

2022-03-23Hi all, I am 5 weeks preg and this is my 4th. 2 days ago I experience mild bleeding like in pic, only appears when I wipe with tissue. Lasted only for a day. Never had this issue for the first 3 pregnancy. Had ultrasound done yesterday and baby was moving, but unable to hear heartbeat yet as doctor says it’s too early to use that feature for the machine. Doctor diagnose it as threatened miscarriage and issued progestogen pills. Anyone experience same issue and went on to give birth successfully?

2022-03-23hi mummies any of u actually have serious diabetes before pregnancy? and baby is safe and delivery has been safe too? i am diabetic and had to go for eye injection for bleeding in retinal.. found out im pregnant 2weeks ago and went to google on diabetic pregnancy and saw the risks and everything. got reali depressed and moody. went for my first gynae visit on 18th and told the doc i am diabetic and so far was ok. doc only highlighted to reali control etc. and finally i decided to move out of my worries and depression mode and start taking control. but today went to c my diabetes doctor and told him i am preggy. his reaction and everything got mi so depressed, worried and sad again. i know he is concerned but he makes mi feel so awful and worried. worried my baby would be harm, worried i would goes blind. and i am reali feeling very depressed 😔 my HbA1c today was 6.8. it has already been improving over the past one year actually. i can't helps feeling that he is making me feels that i should not even be getting pregnant! 💔

They said it might be too early to see anything and asked us to come after 2 weeks. So went back again at 8 weeks and they did US again but this time they could see the fetal pole and heart beat also detected. Now the doctor is asking us to come back again in 2 weeks time to do another scan. When we received the next appointment SMS it is not even 2 weeks it is only 8 days and cannot change appointment also. I've had mild bleeding (fresh blood with few teeny weeny clots) at Week 5 and after a scan at KKH O&g, ultrasound showed presence of gestational sac and even yolk sac. A 2nd opinion was sought at private gynae the next day, however ultrasound showed an empty uterus.. Has anyone encountered this before? What is likely to have happened? I'm really saddened and anxious. Private gynae had advised to go back to Kkh for a confirmation scan. Really frightened to see or hear the hard truth. #1stimemom

2022-03-24I am week 12 pregnant and first time pregnant. The thing is my partner and i are not married yet so after finding out I am pregnant we decide to get married. Our families and friends also didn't know I am pregnant as we decide to wait for the NIPT test to be out before announcing. But I feel that although marriage is in plan but throughout these few weeks, I didn't get any support from my partner. We decided to keep the baby as after our discussion we decide to start a family and move on to the next phase of life. We are in our forties. But as weeks passed since knowing I am pregnant I feel I am not getting any support from my partner, we lived separately still. He is just not proactive and alot of things like marriage stuff, I am the one finding and I just feel jaded and no motivation anymore to do anything about it. I feel abit regretful in keeping the baby as I have no family, friends to discuss my situation and my partner is just non-chalant about alot things. His talks are louder than his actions I feel. He is still living his single life. I have no confident in him being a husband and father now. I express my concerns to him before but after awhile back to square one. I feel so loss now as I don't know what to do now with a baby in me. Anyone has similar situation as me?

2022-03-25Hello Mommies, I really needs to rant out and I don’t know who I can speak to. I really dislike my mother-in-law and my husband knows the reason was because his mother is way too self-centred and selfish. I never had any argument with my in-law before but I really feel sad on how they treated me. Just a bit of history.. Not only she commented about the house I wanted to get before married 3 years ago.. And when I was 4 months pregnant when we had our Chinese custom wedding last year after Chinese New Year. Things doesn’t turned to be like fairy tale ever since my mother-in-law knows I’m having a baby girl, she doesn’t show any concern whenever we visited her despite knowing baby and I was having complications. She can continue to have her lunch, treating as if heard nothing when I shared baby and I wasn’t doing well, she was sitting at the same table. The most she did was calling my husband to ask how are we newly wed doing.. Since baby born, she didn’t wants to visit us even though she called maybe alternate days. We invited her again and she did came for a while during baby’s full month and she gave me that deep impression of her didn’t want to come at all by putting on her mask throughout to avoid conversation with my parents who also here celebrating. She an able-bodied person, retiree, well educated so traveling by public transport or us getting her a cab down not a issue to her and she used to go for holidays few times a year before Covid. This year CNY supposed to be our first year celebrating together with our baby girl however she didn’t invite us for any reunion which this time she really pissed my family on how she had been treated me. My family felt that she doesn’t seems to welcome me and baby girl. What i can do to calm my family is by telling them maybe my mother-in-law doesn’t know how to cook so she didn’t invite. To be honest, I felt she is good in acting. She always acted my baby girl is her darling when in front of her family, but the truth is she behaved differently when they not around, bossy attitude to me. Definitely my husband believes that his mom is the best caring mommy and granny. The recent episode she and my husband really drives me nuts. I made the initial by asking husband to bring her and her sister out for lunch to catch up, lunch venue was so near to her place yet my husband just so sayang his mom and went to pick them up, left me and baby at the restaurant. (They had no issue to go overseas so a less than 10 mins bus ride is a issue to them now?!) After lunch, they wants to go elsewhere to get a sales item despite knowing we are going to my friend’s place do home visit my husband told me let’s send them. Fine, no use even I reminded him in front of them the timing we need to reach. Out of courtesy, my husband told his mum anything call him. She called 15 minutes after we dropped them and requested my husband to go back fetch them home from where we dropped them! Guess what? We was standing at my friend’s door not even stepped in! I trying to be nice, so I told my husband that’s fine you just go fetch them because I was thinking the maximum he would take will be 30 minutes to come back. But this selfish mother-in-law asked my husband to send them go elsewhere buy groceries and ended up nearly two hours my husband finally came back to me and baby. Why I am angry? We were supposed to catch up with my friend and family (my husband know them), yet I was left alone with my baby while my husband go to do chauffeur cum deliveryman service. What era is this that you think it is so hard to take public transport in Singapore? (I thought she told us they will fetch a taxi home?) I felt that I do not have the most basis respect from my husband and especially his mom! Maybe she just forgotten that his son has already married and got kid now? Why is she bossy him here and there and leaving me and my baby aside? I know my husband is filial piety, but I don’t understand why my mother-in-law can’t respect that we have our own lives now, even if she didn’t know we are going for home visit, even if we are going shopping you shouldn’t even call my husband back to pick you! Might as well ask us to wait for you to done with all your shopping then go do our own thing! Like how she treated me when I was pregnant feeling unwell! As usual, we quarrelled again BECAUSE OF HIS MOM. Again, he sided his mom thinking there’s no wrong for him to go fetch her, left me and baby behind. Many of you will advise me to have a conversation with him but I have tried talked to him many times, and reminded him your mom is always the cause of our arguments since the day I married to you! This time he told me that he don’t care if you think I am a Mommy Boy, as we have different all perception and the way I treated my family is different from you. (He will always drag my family out and making remarks saying the way I treat my family not so good whenever if we are talking about his mom - I was taught to be individual since young, hence my family won’t be like his mom behaving like a typical evil lazy never grownup mom always expecting the kids to serve her) I had given him the last option to separate if he still continues treating his mom as the priority even more important than baby and me. Because this wasn’t the first time all these happened. I’m tired of always being the one giving in, and making myself feeling so depressed, like not living like the true self as if a clown. 2022-03-25hi mummies is 3rd trimester depression a thing? i feel like towards the third trimester i get really affected by everything. ive been arguing alot w my family and crying alot to my husband. i can cry just random times of the day sometimes even while taking care of my toddler i can just burst out crying over something that idk seems petty to others but sensitive to me. and i get angry too easily as well. my emotions are all over the place. i dont find joy in watching movies or netflix my attention span is like not there. sometimes im scrolling through my phone but my mind is either blank or elsewhere. i cant even sleep well at night. i ended up deactivating my social media and staying away from everyone because im just that emotionally unstable. i tried to do things that makes me happy but i dont find joy in it. first pregnancy was like this too but it wasnt as hard dealing w it as it is this time round. is this normal? i used to be able to nap it off but now i have an active 18 months old to care for daily.

2022-03-25UPDATE: I'm grateful to the fellow mom who encouraged me not to give up and to go for an immediate check with my gynae - baby is found safe, and we can hear his/her heartbeat now! (Previously was just the gestational sac) So after confirming that the pregnancy has progressed, my gynae prescribed me more medication to support the pregnancy: Duphaston (for morning & afternoon), and Utrogestan (for evening). Now my heart is at ease... Urging all fellow mums with a similar situation as mine to do the same! It can save a tiny life!❤ ‐----------------------------------------------------------------- Hi mummies in the community, I had brown spotting/discharge a week ago and was on Duphaston since. But today, light bleeding (without clots) started, and it was on-off. Sometimes I only see it when I wipe, sometimes it stained my pad. I read about other mums with similar experiences at about the same gestation age, and am torn between: 1. Continuing the fight with Duphaston, or 2. Stop Duphaston and let my body clear the tissue naturally with menses Honestly, although it's only been a week, it's been a grueling and stressful fight. I'm feeling mentally exhausted as I had miscarried just last month as well at 5 weeks. Should I give up the fight and just let my body clear naturally? 2022-03-25I have a filipino helper who had been with us for a year. When we engaged her, she had 10 years of working experience in Singapore, mainly working for expats caring for their children (2years and above). She had never cared for infant. She is able to converse very well in english. During our interviews with her we already told her her main job scope is to help look after our newborn (was pregnant with 2nd child at that time). She said she is ok to try caring for infant though she had not done that before. Generally she is still ok in her work, though nt very detailed. She is ok with the children. But the problem I have with her is she gives us attitude very easily, and alot of times makes me feel that I have to see her face instead of her seeing mine. A little bit of correction in a kind way result in her giving black face. End up it is really difficult to correct her or tell her my preference without dealing with her black face for the whole day. Giving her adhoc task such as looking after my 2 children while I go out (so far I only only did it twice and I stop because I am really scared of her black face now) also result in black face. Her daily chores is just general household chores and taking care of my youngest, nw 8mths old, while we are at work during weekdays. Her work starts at 6.30am, end off between 7.30-8pm. She breaks between 9-10am, 12-3pm, 5-5.30pm, although sometimes this may be compromised if my baby do not want to sleep. We gave her a room of her own, she do not need to do night duty, gave her wifi, no phone curfew, no cctv, include her in our decision making as we want to respect her opinions, treat her like our own family members. She gets off day every Sunday, and she basically goes out from 7am-9pm and allowed her to do so. We try to treat her with as much welfare and respect as possible, but due to the frequent black face, I really feel she does not appreciate our kindness at all. This upsets me alot and do not think we deserve that every little black face. I get that it is very tiring to tc of baby, but we alrdy try to lesson or balance her workload as much as possible in my opinion. Also, after all these are also her duties, duties of most helpers with young families, and the very reason we engaged her. We also took over all child caring duties the moment we reach home at 7pm. She does not need to tc of my eldest (4yo) at all as well. We go out every sat afternoon without her (she herself does not want to follow us) from 3-8pm and she basically did nothing at home and when we are back, she just need to wash 2 milk bottles and she can go back to her room and call it a day. So in actual fact, she only work half from 6.30am-12pm on saturday (12-3pm is her lunch time break), even though her pay includes Saturday as her work day. I did not even say anything. By treating her as well as I could, I do not expect her to go the extra mile, but at least dont give me black face as and when she likes even when I talk to her nicely? I thought engaging a helper would allow me to relieve alot of chores and to have me time even at home, but she makes me feel like I am not allowed to do so. I really dont get if general household chores and taking care of baby, cooking dinner is really very heavy load? If you can elightened me, pls do.

2022-03-25Hey guys, need your advise. My 3mth baby recently increased from 60ml to 100-120ml. However some of the milk I have expressed previously is up to 85ml. Can I warm up 2 bags to make up to 120ml and put the remaining milk back into the fridge? For instance I have 1 bag of 60ml and the other is 85ml. I need to mix them and instead of dumping the remaining 25ml, I chill it back. Those milk bags are frozen by the way hence I will need to thaw them first.

2022-03-26Hi mummies, let me know your thoughts… My nanny always claims that baby is hungry again after pooping and will need to feed about 60ml (a full feed will be 90ml), because baby exhibits hunger cue (but we don’t see the cue, baby is just awake that’s all). Despite feeding baby an hour ago, once poop means need to feed baby again. True? I’m doubtful because my hubs and I managed to put baby to sleep instead of feeding again. Then passes LO to me & walk off. Having a kid supposed to bring joy to the family but all im feeling is just sadness. When i look at LO, I'll feel the joy & happiness.
