2022-03-14Am a 1st time mom. When my son turned 18 mths. Went for the developmental check up at poly. Told him to stack up small blocks and scribble. But my son couldn't do it but was distracted to a story book instead. Straightaway.. the nurse told me he has symptoms of autism. Not listening to simple instructions. Doc was very blunt too. I was so upset. Was referred to KKH specialist, again asked to stack up blocks n scribbling. Is autism defined just by a child not able to stack blocks and not scribbling? My boy is already 20 mths old and still babbles only. Thus the doctors keep on talking about speech delay and autism. Fixing appt for hearing test, going to autism clinic, booking a place at therapy classes and so many things for us to digest at one go. Even i wished eagerly that i could hear my son speak some words.. but he only babbles. Breaks my heart when i see other toddlers around him talk to him during playtime but all he could do is smile and laugh. He is sociable but just can't talk yet. 2022-03-15I am a SAHM since oct 2021 due to my mil unable to look after my child who is now 20mths old. My child is also a child who needs special attention which i am umable to put her to childcare. My child need hearing aid and low immunity. My hubby did not work for 1yr when i was pregnant till my child was born. Recently, we have been disputes regards to his job. Previously when i was the only 1 with income, i did not even complain. But now, my hubby keep want to change job every 2-3months. Everyday, every month i have to make sure i buy my kid things as priority so that we can have enough to survive for the month. Whenever, i tell my hubby to bite the bullet with his job, he will start to shout at me. He will also say, initially we shld not get married and give birth to this child. I am really upset. When i was the 1 earning the income during my pregnancy, i was so stressed out and tired but i still hold on. But now evry 2-3weeks, he will say want to change job. When i tell him don change, then he will start to flare up. I really do not know if i really should divorce him and give him his freedom? To me, he finds both of us a burden to him now. Cos we all depend on him to bring bread home for us. If divorce, i might not get custody as i got no income at all. But since he find both of us a burden, shld we really leave this family? I am so tired and stresssd out. Everyday, i try to keep the hse clean amd cook dinner for him whem he come back from home, he got food to eat. I do not know what more he expects from me..#advicepls

I was about to wear my inner before my head scarf and i usually cover my whole face before i pull up to my forehead, my husband was standing in front of me and wanted to peek a boo me but it turn out to be a traumatic incident and i cry out loud traumaticly. 2022-03-15Hi all, I’ve been experiencing butt pains (more like aches) on the side of my butt in early 1st trimester (7-8weeks till now at 11 weeks) and now, it seem that the discomfort has travelled to the tailbone. It’s not unbearable just uncomfortable. ( like I will wake up in between sleep because of the discomfort) Is that normal? 2022-03-15Hi, I’m currently about 10weeks pregnant and this is my second pregnancy. Every time I sit on any type of chair (cushion or non cushion) I feel pain on my butt after a while. N I had to struggle to stand up. This is exactly what I experienced when I was in my 3rd trimester during the previous pregnancy. Is it normal that I experience such pain so early on in my pregnancy? Has anyone experienced this in first trimester too?

2022-03-15Hi mummies/mummies to be, Was wondering if anyone took the KKH Antenatal Package (which also means private route with KKH)? If so, is it 1) at a separate clinic and check up route from the subsidised patients at Clinic C and AMC room? 2) during your appointments, is everything done in the doctor's room such as completing the consultation, urine dipstick, ultrasound etc? Meaning to say there's no multiple waiting times at different clinics/rooms for the various tests like subsidised. 3) what about Pharmacy? Is it also split from the subsidised route? Definitely was prioritising on cost savings at the start but had a very bad experience in waiting time and with 1 of the doctors today, hence considering to switch to private after next visit. Appreciate all feedback and advice! Thank you!!

2022-03-15Hi Mommies I’m 32+4 weeks pregnant and experiencing lot of fatigue and severe frequent headaches My current OG said it’s normal and asked to take Panadol Also he said I’m not anaemic (iron level is fine ) It didn’t help much hence I went to other OG for second opinion n turns out my iron level (ferritin =29) n Vit B12 =157 is in border line New OG asking me to take supplements through IV but I’m scared if I should ask my old OG about the same and show him report of iron deficiency Is it ok to share this with old gynae or will it cause issue since he will be the one doing my delivery so would it offend him 😞?

It's bearable, my only concern is that I read it happens at infrequent timings whereas mine is pretty much all the time.
2022-03-16Anyone else went through this? I first got this after my 1st c-sect with my 1st born. Doctor says it'll go away on its own in a few months. But it didn't. The pain is always there but I can still brush it off.. Fast forward 5 years later with my current 4th pregnancy, I'm feeling a much more intense pain. Feeling of sudden sharp and pulling pain. 2022-03-16My wife was in pain and we came to the delivery suite, my wife requested for epidural pain relief and the nurse asked and I quote "is there blood when brushing teeth" my wife's initial answer was a yes but she said it only happens occasionally. Because of this, the nurse said the anesthesist required a blood test to check platelet count before doing the procedure. My question is isn't some slight bleeding normal?

2022-03-16Hi mummies, i've always had a fear of pain in the lower region and invasive procedures like transvaginal ultrasound freak me out. I've always told myself that vaginal birth is not for me and i'd definitely go for csect. Now that i'm pregnant for the first time and 2-3 months away from giving birth, i'm seriously considering vaginal delivery as my gynae thinks it's in my best interest to do so especially when there's no special reason to opt for csect. But reading up on things like membrane sweeps, dilation checks, tearing and stitching of the vagina is making me feel so worried and afraid of what's coming. I think the idea of experiencing pain in the vagina and having foreign objects inserted really creeps me out. Sometimes i still feel like i should insist on a csect. Anyone going through the same fears? Any advice? And if i really want to opt for csect ar the end of the day, is it my right? Can my gynae turn me down? 2022-03-16hi mummies. pls advise me. my baby is now 5 weeks old, healthy and happy. i’m concern about the covid situation and is playing a part to ensure baby is safe. my hubs and I try to have minimal interactions with people, unless necessary. our visitors are mostly responsible adults cus they know baby is at home, they’ll do ART before coming and refrain from touching or getting near baby. however, it seems like my in-laws are behaving differently. they don’t have the habit of washing hands and even when they wash, they continue to touch their phones and then touch baby. i know they’re eager to see baby but i’m extremely uncomfortable to see them touching baby, since they can’t behave responsibly. i can’t help but i know i have exhibited displeasure. i don’t want to burn bridges but baby and everyone’s safety in this house comes first. it’s really hard for me to just tell them straight also, because they might think i’m over protective. what should i do…?

He refused to take bottle and will cry bloody murder each time we gave him the bottle until no voice. I dont want to scare him any further and i observe that after the whole bottle feeding, he turns to be very clingy to the boobs and will cry for milk esp at night. 2022-03-18Hi mummies, I'm at 5w5d and I've got brown spotting this morning. So I went in to my gynae's, and he did the intravaginal scan for me. What we saw is the gestational sac, but no yolk and no heartbeat detected. Doctor did prescribe me Duphaston, and told me that's the max he can do, and we can only leave it to fate for the next 2 weeks. Told him many times that hitting is not right but he still did it even though I have kept his toys away when he hit me. I really don’t know what can I do to correct this behaviour. Does your child always speak opposite things ? For example, when I need to do something but he doesn’t allow me to do it. Then I said ok, we will do nothing then. 2022-03-18#covid isolation #ranting #husband #iinlaws it is so frustrating. My husband was tested positive first then fully isolated himself. 2nd day morning, i myself was tested positive too. So I went into isolation but not fully. You see, we have 2 kids, 4yo and 8mths old. We do have a helper. Ideally I know I shld go into full isolation and not come out of the room at all. But with the 2 of us down, how can I possibly just abandoned the 2 young kids and let my helper take care 24/7 for at least the next 3 days? Its going to cause over exhaustion on my helper, especially the kids are extra cranky because daddy n mommy is suddenly locking themselves in the room. I alrdy tried to isolate as much as I can, only when I hear the kids crying nonstop then I went out to help my help. Prior to touching my kids, i change my clothes, wash my hands, wear my mask. These r measures i had already taken to prevent and minimise the risks. But to my husband, it is still not enough. He said when his sis in law gt covid, she locked herself fully in the room and doesnt dare to open door at all. Why she can and I cant? But you need to see the situation right? His bro gt 2 kids, a 10yo n 5yo. His bro is not down w covid. Of course they can manage with his sis in law fully in isolation. My husband can be in full isolation also because the first day I was neg and was outside to help my helper. I request for his parents to come and help, he rejected and said his parents is scared, and would not come. For the record, his parents was down w covid and recovered (test neg) a wk before my husband is positive. And they still scared? He go on to say tell anybody, his bro his sis in law his parents all say i am in the wrong and shld fully isolate myself . Pls, its just his own side of family thinks i am wrong and he thinks the whole world thinks this way too? If none of them wants to help, how can they blame me for not "abandoning" my young kids alone and leaving my helper to "die"? My friends arnd me, my boss n colleagues they can understand my situation and relate when i ask them for advice, yet my husband and his immediate family, people who is supposed to be closest to me and understand my hse situation more than others could not relate?

I am asking cos my boss marked me down in my appraisal upon my return and also mentioned that i wfh even since the start of covid19. I was surprised by her remaks cos in my office, our HR hightlighted that by default, all of us wfh. As such, my grading suffered and my promotion has been on hold (i am long overdue for promotion.) There will not be an increment for me this year either. This is demoralising.

His daily tasks are - feed baby (only when I asked him to) - wash n sterilise btls (he can leave the btls out for hrs n wash them 1 shot) - take out trash but nv put a new trash bag (he will give me attitude if I asked him to throw) - diaper change (only when I’m not ard) There are days when I told him to feed our lo while I pump, what I get from him are sh*t attitude. Why do I feel like having a baby makes me hate him so much? It shows his true colour of how selfish he is. Everyday I get less than 5 hrs of undisturb slp and he can complaint to me he hv not enough rest. Both of us working, so what makes him feel I am free to look aft lo.

2022-03-19Hi. Has anyone ever gotten a false positive result? I randomly bought a pink pregnancy test and tested for no reason and was startled when I see the pink 2nd line. It's within 3mins time frame. The pink line started appearing when the urine run through the test. It's faint, it's pink. I don't even need to look hard but It's quite tough to capture when taking picture. I'm still breastfeeding my lo who just turned 1yo few days ago. I'm shock and confused right now. Can this be a false positive? I didn't have any sign of ovulation at all(which I am quite experienced)the pink line is still there after the test dried up. Anyone with similar experience pls advice in the picture attached, top is when the test is still wet, 2nd is before the test drys and 3rd is after it's dried.
