I read that naturally the second stage of labour may take some time and that the body will slowly adjust for the opening to expand such that there is no special need to push too much. However, due to the pressure to push by the team, mummies may end up with a tear. How has your experience been at KKH? And usually for a non complicated case, how many people will be around and is the husband allowed to accompany?

2021-02-22Been having a cold war with my mother in law for a week because of she keep giving my son to watch phone whenever he want. Even my son just woke up from his sleep in the morning and he ask to watch phone my mother in law didn't stop him. I trying to stop him to do so but my mother in law was so unhappy n even shout at me "he never watch la". She has been giving him to watch since he was a baby untill now he alrd use to it. My son only look for her to watch phone as only she allow. My mother in law even said me I'm crazy why don't want let him watch phone. I'm like erm afternoon n night I nvr give him meh I alr nvr say anything. I'm so pissrd off with this. I don't like her. Hoping she quickly move out. When I talk to her nicely she shouted at me. Such a no manner old lady😡😡

2021-02-22Hi mummies. I’m 6 weeks, and since week 4, I’ve gained 1kg each week. I’m not sure if it’s a healthy weight gain but I know for your first trimester, weight gain avg between 2-4kg is fine. But I’m alrdy up 2kg in 2 weeks. I’m afraid by week 12, I’m alrdy up 12kg. Any advise on how to keep the weight gain slow? I don’t snack but now tend to have a bigger appetite. Used to skip breakfast pre-pregnancy and now having oats/cereals in the morning. I exercise everyday too at least 45mins. My boobies are fuller and heavier, serious tummy bloating too.

Being a first time mom, i definitely want to try normal delivery. BUT... 1. I have very low tolerance to pain. 🤭& 2. 2021-02-22Hi mummies! I went for my 1st gynae appointment and also did my 1st untrasound scan today. I found out i was pregnant on 7/2/21 when i missed my period (regular period) and did 4 urine tests and even went to the GP to confirm my pregnancy. Did some EDD calculations myself and if everything's according to plan, my baby would have been 7 weeks and 5 days old today. However when i did my scan today, the doctor only found a water bag sac with almost nothing in it. I'm so shocked and sadden by this news and almost burst out crying.. But doctor reassured that this is normal as my period cycle is between 35-41 days average so might take some time for my baby to be visible and grow. Worst case scenario, there will be a 15%-20% chance of miscarriage if by the next scan there is still nothing. I'm so scared and worried.. Is there anyone out there who faces the same/similar situation as me? Please advice. Thank you! #advicepls

It seems by night she when to bed the effect wore off already n whenever she get up for milk, she tried to drink but she cried when she tried to swallow. 2021-02-24Just wondering if anyone faced/is facing the same situation: You are pregnant, this will be the first grandchild for parents and in-laws, you're already halfway through the pregnancy, but neither set of parents has offered you anything (e.g. tonics, nutritious stuff) like all your friends' folks do, did not even ask how you and baby are doing, and are not offering any help during or after pregnancy. Am a little sad by the complete lack of concern and support from family, but thankfully husband is great and we are managing alright by ourselves. (No, we don't have a bad relationship with either set of parents.) Ours is a totally unique case amongst our peers, so just very curious to know if there's actually anyone else like us! If so, were your folks also as detached after baby is born? 😆

2021-02-24My 1.5 month old baby cant fall into good naps during daytime. Even with dark quiet room, swaddled, she at most nap once a good 2 hour nap, other than that it is so hard to put her down for any other day nap as she always wake up after 2-3 minutes put down in cot. She can sleep good 11-12 hours night time (including dreamfeed 2-3 times at night). I worry she gets over tired and lack of sleep for development due to this n indeed she gets quite fussy these days. Any mom has experience can share how to get baby to nap better? SOS.
2021-02-24Due to CNY, we brought 1 month old baby out using Konny carrier (should have used stroller) . Another few days after she got colic n cry so much during evening n we had to carry to hush. 2021-02-25How do I say no to MIL who is trying to find ways to come over to my house more than twice a week, staying over half the entire day, trying to help in taking care of my baby when clearly i dont need any help at all? For the past 2 years, my Mil has never come over to my house or care if we have homecooked food on wkdays after work. Ever since my delivery to a baby girl, mil has been overly concerned over my well being, hoping to bring food over as an excuse to come over so that she can take care of my baby. Noted of her good intention but her presence has caused some distress and inconvenience to me. Her consistent hugging of baby and peeping into my bedroom to check if my baby is awake resulted me unable to latch my baby on demand. Ended up we have to bottle feed baby as she wanted to take over the task. She even suggested both my hubby n i to exercise together instead of taking turn to workout on weekends. Reason; so that she can also come over to take care of baby when both of us is not around. I know it is a happy problem but I am tired of her always suggesting something to make us be away from our baby so that she has the chance to offer her help to take care of baby. And even suggested us to put baby in ifc for half day instead of full day. How do i tell her we dont need her help unless we really need? I feel like I am being force to accept her help and so tired always have to come out of an excuses to reject her.

She helped me with from taking care of newborn to cooking meals and laundry and even prepare my herbal baths. A very hardworking lady that after a month I missed her a lot. Very friendly and loving lady, often shares her care tips to care for the newborn and help with first time moms with breast feeding technique. For 1 month she was with me, I only have to focus on recovery and breastfeed, others she will help. I truly recommend her. Her menses blood only flow the 1st and 2nd day normal colour blood. But next few days will be brownish but a lil bit only. I have already bring her to see pd at poly. But they only give her a hormon pills to stop her period as her menses has not stop. They ask me to go kkh coz they don't hv a specialist at the poly. Im a little bit worried about her menses. 2021-02-27Dear mummies, I have been hospitalized since week 30. When I was admitted, I was given magnesium sulphate and dexa to tone down the contractions. The contractions stopped but my cervix dilated to 5 cm and doctor advised not to discharge as I may deliver at home. I have been hospitalized since then for 7 weeks. I am 37 weeks today. OB advised that I can induce anytime now and deliver the baby if I want to be discharged. However, I am undecided as articles online from the US mentioned it's best to wait until 39 weeks. But it would also mean I need to stay in hospital for 2 more weeks. I want the best for my baby and torn apart on what to do. Can fellow mummies share your experience? Thank you.
