2021-11-22#advicepls #pregnancy -I am 10 week pregnant now so get up middle of the night needed to go toilet is a normal thing to me so after that continue back to sleep - Awhile waked up by uncontrollable shivering,felt like cold into the core which last for about 10min or more, i curl up in my blanket then fell asleep again - I did not feel so cold when wake up to use the toilet, I do cover myself with blanket and have a warm pajamas. -so is there anything i should worry about? I have this "shiver strike" two nights already however did not feel any discomfort after wake up in the morning. - Anyone have the same experience to share? Thank you.

2021-11-22hey guys. just found out with hubby that we’re expecting a boy. and we are so delighted and filled with joy. anyways me and my mom arent really that close but like i expected her to be happy for me and hubby but when hubby relayed the msg to her that we are having a boy, all she replied was “ok” 😪 not even excited, no well wishes. nothing. she is a young mom. she had me at quite a young age. and she is doing super great now with her husband and my two half siblings (whose ages are soooo far apart from me). and i know she has always wanted a boy but she has only been blessed with three girls (including me). but am i to be blamed for that? anyways, she didnt raise me since young. so thats like what, 20+ years of missed connections between us. but like shouldnt she feel smth at all that her first is having her first? she’s not even excited or eager to have her first grandkid. she has never spoken to me eversince she found out i was pregnant anyways and i dont know why. not like im asking her for money. really wish she could be a supportive parent because sometimes it feels lonely 😔 is it because im having a boy and she never could have a boy? cant be she that petty right. or maybe she just doesnt care. hubby’s family is broken and he doesnt want his parents near our child because they are toxic and manipulative and mean and his dad is abusive and he is scared anything might happen to baby. my real father is busy with his own life and my mother is busy with her own new family. me and hubby are doing very well too and we are just waiting for baby to come, and hubby does a good job reminding me that it’s going to be okay and that our child will never go thru what we went thru. but thats not my concern. he is the best husband i could ever ask for but….. everyday when he isnt around i think too much and sometimes i pity my child because he is never going to have a grandparent to call out to. and im so tired of crying. so so tired.

2021-11-22My LO is turning 1month soon and her PD does not schedule a check up for her 1 month check. Based from what I know, Hep B dose2 should be taken during her 1 month but her PD said that it will be taken when she is 2mths along with her other 2months injection. Was this established recently where the Hep B D2 will be given in her 2nd month or is this just as per her PD instruction?

Would like to know if the subsequent vaginal births successful for you or you just opted for elective csect for subsequent babies? If manage to deliver vaginally, do you sustain another 3rd/4th degree tear with subsequent vaginal births? ( medical journals stated that the risk to get another 3rd/4th degree tear after previous 3rd degree tear is higher for subsequent births). In dilemma if i should go for elective csect or try for another vaginal birth for my second. So please share with me your experience!!! 2021-11-22Hi mommies. My 1st visit to KKH, found out ive got a 3cm fibroid. Have been having abdomen pain and cramps prior. Given folic. 2 days later i had blood clots and bled like i was on menses. Went to UO&G, was told my womb is still closed and that bby is ok. Given hormone pills to take for 2 wks. Its the 4th day now on hormones. Still bleeding (red) and pain still there. Am more anxious and super worried by the day to wait for my next appt on 16 dec. Any advises pls?

2021-11-22Hi Mummies, I am so tired with my husband that keep telling me I am a failure mother useless mother. Our son is a type that’s very active. He loves to run n explore and he wont sit still. My husband blames it on me for not teaching him properly and for not learning from google how to “tame” toddlers. He is 21 months old btw. Just 2 days ago, we came back from in law house and our son didnt want to sit on the car seat for the first time. Instead of helping my husband just say “If you cant make him sit, then you consider as failure mother” he just sit on the driver seat there and said this kind. I am so so so pissed off. He expects me to read from google like once everyday. Right now he blames everything on me and my mother. He said just because he earns more I am supposed to take care of our son most of the time. I am also working btw. Sorry for the rant mummies, need someone to talk to badly.

2021-11-23Were you able to deliver naturally? Kinda stressing out after my 35w appt when my baby’s head circumference measured 34cm, and baby’s weight at 2.8kg. My OB certainly sounded concerned because I’m petite (158cm) and a big head might be a challenge to get through the birth canal. I wasn’t really looking to get induced or go for a csect as other factors are ok (no GD, no high BP, baby’s head is down) but it sounded like because of baby’s size, these are now possibilities? I know these scan measurements can be off. Just wondering if any petite mums have had the experience to still deliver supposedly bigger babies naturally?

2021-11-23Hi all, my 20mo is on a DINNER strike. She just refuses to eat dinner n just dinner only. She'll at most eat a few bites(3-4) then stop eating n refuse to eat anymore. She won't even eat snacks if offered. Only thing she's willing to eat at night is fruits. In the day she'd eat pretty okay, only issue is dinner time n she takes 200ml of fresh milk every night before bed but now that she's on a dinner strike, she doesn't even finish her milk, drinks at most 100ml or less + no/little dinner. We tried different foods, takeaway, homecooked, eat out, eat together, she just doesn't wanna eat. She does indicate that she's hungry n asked for food but when offered she refuses. Normally when that happens we won't offer her an "alternative food", we just let her not eat n hopefully get hungry n hence eat but it only works sometimes. Been going on for about 2 weeks 🤦🏻‍♀️
2021-11-23Hi I am at 33 weeks and this is my 3rd child. It’s really not a problem but I’m curious if anyone here feels the same. My baby is constantly moving and I can feel every movement inside my belly. They are really strong movements like jumping and tumbling! Lol! Not just occasional stretching and hiccups. Especially when Im lying down on my side at night. There’s like a party inside my tummy. Hard kicks all over and sometimes just constant bouncing. Cant remember my 2 other children are like this before, or is it because its already my 3rd pregnancy so I am more fully conscious of the movements.? Anybody same with me?

2021-11-23Some nurses just don’t understand the pain that you have just went through and keep on forcing me to get my baby to latched. Im having trouble my nipples are short and in will be an inverted nipple if the baby tried to latch. I already feel like im use when i cant give birth normal now its the breastfeeding making me feeel even more useless than ever. My c-section wound starting to hurt. And mid you this is my second date alone with the pain and trying to adapt to everything. Cant they be a bit more sympathetic to us. 🥲

I had a history of Pnuemonia 3 yrs ago.. and im now very worried for my health and baby. I did not received any HRW frm MOH for now.. not sure if my colleague did put our names on it. Yes. For trace together, we didnt do it on that morning cos we were 'kanchiong' to ask tat colleague of mine to test on ART. I was hoping that KKH can give me a week or two HL until they sanitize the office. Not sure if the company had actually called MOH to sanitize or not also. My dr told me that its best for me to give birth by 39 weeks. By then she will asked me if i wanted to induce or wanna wait till my 40 weeks (edd) which is higher chances of getting Csect. So if by 38 weeks i already dilect, dr will still continue to arrange to induce me at around 39 weeks or just wait for the nature to works on its own? What's ur thoughts mummy? Anyone else feeling tired carrying this little bun around? 😌 I'm hoping to give birth anytime soon as feeling too lethargic and just could not wait for this bundle of joy to be out so I can finally held him in my arms. This is my no 5 but all pregnancy are a different experience to me. I experienced cramping 3 days ago which lasted for about 4 hours and again last night which lasted around 4 hours as well. Able to sleep through after 6 am then the cramping stop. Never experienced these kind of false labour before. Haha

2021-11-24Just wondering if anyone grew up in a not so conducive environment? Growing up my father always like to throw things around the house whenever he gets angry. I never knew this was wrong until much later. My mum wld always tolerate him and ask us not to make him angry. But now that I have a toddler in the same household, he doesn’t throw things but he likes to slam door and shout loudly. My mum on the other hand likes to criticise us whatever we do, calling us stupid, fat, poor etc. Never receive any compliments from them. I feel bad for my toddler because I wonder how much of this he’s taking in. We still have at least 2 more years to stay with them before my new flat arrives. Can’t wait to move out.

Recently, I found my an entire folder of a naked girl- or for the lack of a better word, porn of a particular girl in my husband’s laptop. I’m not sure if he’s cheating with me but the date of the video goes back all the way to 2019. I’m assuming he has received it as a whole stash. I feel so useless when I get to know that my baby is small. The doctor suggests eating a small meal, drinking coconut, similar milk and taking my iron tablet. I hope my baby gain more weight. 2021-11-25Anyone experienced sudden bleeding (fresh red) no clot during week 6 day 2 and rush to hospital and ultrasound able to see sac and baby but can't hear heartbeat as the scan shows I am only week 5 day 6. Doctor say may be too early and baby grow slower than expected. Was prescribed with duphaston 2x a day, now no more bleeding but left with brown spotting/stains. 2021-11-25Hi, I had 3boys and unexpectedly I'm expecting again. I shivered when got the results. I feel scared, depressed yet thankful to god for the blessing. My husband and mom was expecting a girl since #2, but was disappointed with the result. Same goes to #3, and when this happen my husband ignore me the whole pregnancy. Don't even touch n talk to baby, don't even ask how i am. I go checkup all by myself. While my mum asked me to quit work to look after them. All of them now in childcare. Right now only husband know about this #4, I'm so scared to tell mom. I'm so depressed. Sometime feels like letting go of this pregnancy but wise mind said NO. For those that ordered confinement meals for 4 weeks, are you feeling sick and tired of the same menu? I am thinking of ordering from 4 different confinement meals company weekly so my wife will be always looking forward to meal time instead of rotating the same menu within 2 weeks rotations. I understand there will be extra cost but I guess it’s for her comfort level. Do you think it’s a good idea or I should just engage 2 company instead?

2021-11-26Definitely not the cheapest in the market but quality wise is one of the best, especially when drop a couple of time on floor and doesn’t break easily. As well as the thickness of the texture, easy to wash and dry, goes a long way into use, convenient to store milk powder as well.

2021-11-27The rest of the recovery is as per normal caesarean. Except that I was in the covid ward. The nurses here are more caring than the ones I met at the Pte hosp. Altho I’ve heard from the others patients I’m warded with, that the nurses here are horrible as compared to another Govt hosp. To each their own. I’m thankful enough for some of the kind souls I’ve met so far. For more info on which hosp I’ve to and where I am now, as well as the gynae that I was and am consulting, feel free to pm me. I do not wish to publicly tarnish anyone or any hosp’s reputation. Bill estimate: Pte hosp, 1 night for covid stay: $2300. Inclusive of gynae consultation $500 Govt hosp, 7 days for covid stay: $3500 before subsidy, $800 after subsidy Covid stay for Govt is fully claimable via insurance. For Pte tbc as I wasn’t sure what the Pte hosp billed to my insurance company. If the bill description is delivery- no claim. If it’s covid- claimable. Caesarean at Govt hosp for 3 nights: B1 ward estimated about 13k without maternity package (all itemised as I was warded prior due to covid). After medisave deduction, cash ~$9-10k). Hope it helps anyone who happens to find themselves in such an unusual situation! Last part (8/8)

2021-11-27My hubby and I are in a rough patch. We’ve been together for almost 11yrs. Married for 3yrs with a 1yr old baby and been in a LDR for 9yrs. When I got pregnant, our agreement was for me to get back in shape within 6mths but it did not happen. Things got worst and now we are looking into a potential divorce. At the very start of the relationship, he did mentioned he is very particular on his partner’s outlook. So there’s no lies in this and I went into the relationship knowingly. We even had an understanding if either have feelings for another person outside of our relationship, we would end our relationship first so we don’t give each other a chance to cheat on each other. I trust him that there’s no 3rd party currently. I failed on my part as his partner but promises made back at the start of pregnancy was without fully understanding the demands of a baby and it does not help that I do not get help with baby due to Covid. We are financially alright so the split sadly to say is because of me being out of shape after pregnancy. On one hand, I really want to salvage this relationship because we’ve been together a long time. But on the other hand, it reach to a point if it means happiness for him, I’m willing to let go. I’m not sure what’s next and what’s the point of me letting it out here. Its just a shame that the split had to happen when baby turns 1yr old. I’m not sure if anyone here has been through the same thing as me and how do you move on?

2021-11-27Hi, I'm a FTM with a 19mths old who is constantly having runny nose in aircon places. We have brought our girl to numerous PD in Sengkang, Punggol, Hougang, Serangoon, Tiong Bahru, Gleneagles, Mt Elizabeth, Jurong east but she is still having runny nose every now and then. In fact, most of the time when we visit the PD, she is NOT having runny nose and it became hard to explain and diagnose. The common explanation we get is that she has sensitive nose or that she hasn't fully recover from her previous illness. I actually don't want my girl to be constantly on medication. It is also getting on my nerves that ppl will always question whether we brought her to the doctor, whether we explained clearly to the doctor, whether *insert anything under the sun*. I know I should maintain some positivity, ear in ear out but I still feel like those interrogation/suggestions/advice are given because I am a bad mom. If any moms had faced any similar situation but somehow got resolved by a certain PD, can you please introduce the PD to me? Background info: - No wheezing - ART and swap negative - No dust mite allergy - Saline spray at least 3 times a day - Taking Immunped syrup - Humongous appetite (loves mostly non-seasoned food, fruits) Thank you in advance🥲
2021-11-27My little girl (1year, 3months old) has running nose for 4 weeks now. On 01 Nov, she have fever then started to have running nose too. We took her to doctor, and was asked to do covic test. I took my baby for swap test and turned out negative. And doctor prescribed fever and running nose medicine for her. Her fever was gone after a week. But the running nose cannot recover until now. Im very worry. I try to take her to doctor again yesterday but the doctor told me she have to go do another swap test again. I really don’t think it’s necessary and i don’t want my poor girl to go through the pain again, so i stop the clinic from register her and i brought her back without seeing the doctor. But now that I’m running out of solution, I’m considering to let her do the swap test again just to consult the doctor. But i hope someone with similar experience can share some opinion here before i go ahead.
2021-11-27Any good and safe moisturizing cream for baby ezcema? Doc recommended physiogel lipid cream but it only worked for the first few days. The ezcema came back again and there was even pus on my baby's cheeks. I feel so helpless when he kept using his mittens to rub his cheeks. And so sad to swaddle him up when he alr refused to be swaddled up because we are worried he will scratch his own face 😔
