- 2021-11-08We tried introducing Avent and Hegen bottles to my LO when he was 3 months old and he rejected both. Thereafter he went on nursing strike intermittently. Hence we stopped introducing the bottle to get him back on track with direct latch. Now that he will soon be going to infant care, we tried to reintroduce bottle feeding to him. Tried NUK nature sense and sippy cup, Tommee tippee and Avent sippy cup (he kinda like the latter but would choke on it as flow is too fast) but none worked. MIL and hubby tried to feed him without me being around also didn't work. I'm at wits end. Any mummies and daddies out there have any suggestions? #1stimemom #pleasehelp #bottlefeed

- 2021-11-08Hi, I'm Chinese Singaporean and expecting my first child with my Caucasian husband who is French. Assuming that we will be staying in Singapore for the next 10-20yrs and our child will be going through the local education system (learning Chinese), would like to find out what is a better way to structure our child’s name in the birth certificate.
1. Is it a norm to have a Chinese surname for the child in a mixed race marriage like ours?
2. Does it have to be a literal translation of my husband's surname? Or can use the mother’s surname instead?
3. Is it a must to include the Chinese characters and Han yu pin yin in the birth certificate?
4. Was thinking to simplify it by just putting the child’s first name + husband’s last name as the official name in the birth certificate. Will there be any implications in the future?
Hope to hear some advice from anyone who's in similar situation or have any idea how to go about this. Many thanks! #1stimemom

- 2021-11-09when me and my husband first found out i was pregnant, we fought alot and he left me so many times and was emotionally abusive. so i went thru the first trimester more alone than expected. one month ago on the day of baby’s first kick (i was 16 weeks) we had a huge fight that resulted to my emotional breakdown and i’ve been so depressed eversince then. now im 20 weeks, and my husband has changed (shows). he has apologised and he has tried his best to be a better husband for the past two and a half week. and i’ve forgiven him but it still hurts.
anyways, we realised that whenever he touches my stomach when baby is kicking, baby will stop kicking. and it only happens with him. whenever i touch or my sister touches or even my brother, he will kick as though in excitement. but the moment my husband touches, he will stop. my husband has yet to feel his first kick. is it normal that the baby doesnt kick when their father touches? my husband is thinking that baby is emotionally hurt by his past actions but i dont know (i wish i could ask the baby hahaha) any ideas?

Do you know how do I go about ordering confinement food? How many days in advance do I order? Or can I order today, and the package starts the next day?

As date of miscarriage is uncertain, I can’t fill in the “EDD” portion of the form before I pay.. any ideas how to go about it? Or I just email the company? #advicepls

- 2021-11-09Hi, I did my first trimester screening today, which I believe is the Oscar scan. During the scan, the technician was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I shall not go into it.
But I noticed that during the scan, she did this thermal looking thing and the bar on the left turn all red. Because of her lack of professionalism, I am getting worried about what she did. Because this happened when I was alone with her. And she didn’t do it again when my husband came in later.
Hope anyone can shed some light on this.
Thank you.

- 2021-11-10Hello mummies
Ever since I got pregnant (2nd pregnancy), my vagina has been extremely itchy and I will scratch or rub it till it becomes painful when in contact with water.
Experienced this on my 1st pregnancy too but doctor gave me some huge pill to insert in my vagina which honestly isn't comfortable. Had to use it for 2 weeks but it didn't stop the itching.
Are there any other alternatives because my gynae just provided me the same thing when I went for check up few days back.
Not exactly sure why because I clean myself well with bidet and I stopped using vaginal wash because doctor claims might be the cause of it due to some flora fauna thingy.
Doctor even told me to stop using bidet and wipe myself with just plain tissue which I honestly don't fell comfortable with.

- 2021-11-11Hi SAHMs...
Have you ever envy your friends or your siblings for having their own money to spend on things? I've been a SAHM for 10 years now and had a baby 9 mths ago. Before that I own a small homebased business but stopped for a while on my last trimester as I was already too heavy and exhaustion was real. Fast forward 9 mths later, my business is still closed as my infant is super clingy.
While I have anxiety disorder & panic attack, having a conversation with customers online, most times does not make me comfortable as many of them may/can/will trigger my panic attack which has happened so many times. I miss doing my business but I hate the part but I also miss having the extra income although not alot but I'm thankful for every purchases made. Want to do a WFH job but I only have 'N Level and most jobs requires diploma 😟
How do you SAHMs support your husband for the extra income?

So far, I’ve only managed to maintain follic acid and vitamin d. But I’m starting to get worried since people have been telling me my stomach is really small as compared to people who are 4/5 months in.
Any suggestions on what other vitamins I could take? Or any other options for my baby to look big?

- 2021-11-11Hi all . I am in a dilemma should i quit my job or not. Ive gotten a place for PG for my LO but the problem is LO is not accepting any FM. (Mainly because LO has cow milk allergy & believe me i have been trying all sorts of milk.. goats .. soy.. plant base....oats.. LO just rejects!!! Still on BM up till now)
LO has a few food allergies as well.. i know ppl say after 1 yr old they can survive without milk so long as baby is eating well n is getting ard 700g of calcium per day.. but the thing is my baby is small sized.. maybe around 8.7kg for 15 mths .. im afraid LO wont be eating well in sch.. and also she cant nap without milk. I cant bare to see her cry wanting milk but cannot get any.....
Would you quit your job to care for LO till LO is slightly bigger and continue back to work? My workplace also has a toxic boss who micro manages... makes me feel urghhhh going to work as well... What would you do? Ive never quit just like that before.. i am always working. Therefore i am quite worried for if i do quit. Appreciate ur advices! Tia!!

- 2021-11-11Any wives here pay their husband in whatever chores he does around the house or it's just me? My husband is very calculative and expected payment if I need his help such as washing the toilet, massage my feet. I just gave birth and sometimes it hurts here and there after a long day, I did almost everything. After a day of giving birth... I already started cleaning the house (Discharged, the moment I reached the house)
Without me, the house is miserable! He can't do anything. He's not working and I expected him to at least help around so I won't fall into depression. I provided everything and he can't even take care of our children :(
It's been 5 days since I gave birth, I'm feeling so low and tired. I woke up every night to breastfeed my newborn while he's asleep peacefully. The whole house is neat and tidy because of me. He just spend his time playing Mobile Legends and sleeping, that's all. I feel like he's just extra in my life, extra burden. Sometimes I just wonder if I were single... no difference just without him, I still need to do those. At least no depression because of him

- 2021-11-12Hello everyone. I’ve completed my degree two years back and took on a SGTRAINEESHIP which ended yesterday. My boss offered me a new contract.
Also, I’ve been trying to find a job more similar to what I do ( a very niche degree) for over 2 years and can’t find becsuse they mostly need someone with experience. I finally got an offer recently. But I am also 3 months pregnant.
Should I take up the job that I desperately wanted since 2 years back, or should I just stick to stability and carry on with my current company.
I have yet to declare to the new company that Imm pregnant to, so I’m not sure if they will retract the contract. What should I do?
I’m a STM so I’m showing even at 3 months. I can’t hide.
Advise please!!!

- 2021-11-12Hi my LO is currently 2 weeks old. I feed her mainly on formula during her 2-3h feeding and bm in between the feeding hours if she is hungry or asking for more milk. Meaning if her last fed is at 3pm and ard 4ish she give feeding cues, i will latch her until she unlatch herself and will give formula when she wakes up hungry for next feeding time.
Any parents know if this can be a concern of over feeding? Any mum that is currently doing combination feeding for your LO? What are your recommendation? My LO tends to hiccup after formula feeding sometimes. We don’t force her to finish the entire bottle. Googled and they say might be because of over feeding. As FTM, im worried if I am over feeding her unknowingly.

- 2021-11-12Hi mummies, when should I start packing my hospital bag? I’m 35+1w now.
- 2021-11-12Hihi,
I have been visiting the doc almost every week since late second trimester to monitor baby’s growth as baby tend to measure small whether is it the head, body, leg or weight.
Found out that it might be due to the small umbilical cord hence delivering less blood (food and oxygen) for baby… baby’s blood pressure is also on the higher side cus of that.
I have been eating avocado, drinking milk, and eating almost anything hoping for baby’s growth to be on track. I have been gaining weight steadily but it isnt the case for baby. It just doesnt seem to be helping and i always feel disappointed after each visit…
Any mummies out there who had the same issue and how did you manage to make baby grow more quickly? I am really worried and i may need to consider csect if baby weight continues to be low and blood pressure continues to be high.
Any kind advice out there to help a FTM here? );
TIA…!

My baby just started walking (but he gets a little scared so he will sit after like 7 steps? Still learning haha) and I'd like to get proper shoes for a toddler who is learning to walk.
Got him all the cool Nikes, Vans and Crocs slip ons and they're super cute but my baby keeps tripping over them.
Any shoes to recommend for beginners? Thank you!
Side note: I'm aware that it's best to let them learn to walk barefooted, but I'd like to get shoes for him when we go for outdoor walks etc because everytime we're outdoors he gets so eager and excited to walk 🤣
