2021-01-18Hi! Need some advice from all the working mum-to-be! I am currently 8 weeks, sometimes I will feel dizzy and light headed. I have to work 2-3 days every week, and commuting to and fro office will be 3 hours! (1.5 hrs + 1 5hrs) I am thinking on my 10 weeks appointment with my gynae, should I request gynae to write a memo for me to WFH/HL until I safety reach 2nd trimester? Not all colleagues wore mask in office, I feel safer to work at home especially I am still on my 1st trimester (not even mentioning those pregnancy symtoms!) I know some gynaes are not willing to give HL easily... but if I request WFH will it be easier?

2021-01-18Hi mummies my baby is used being rock n cradle to sleep during nap and bedtime. I tried to leave him alone but he will cry murder. Tried to pat him to sleep but it will be almost 2 hrs and i gave up already. He will be wide awake by then and start playing in the dark. 2021-01-18Hi, wish to know if any one sharing similar experience as me. My daughter is sec1 now, since young she has difficulties waking up in the morning to go to school. There are times where we wake her few times and she refuse to wake up n slept like a log and missed her school, it happens around 2-3tines a year. Today she missed her school again, she refuse to wake up. Those days where she miss her school, we let her answer to the Teachers herself, we will not cover up for her. Any suggestion on how we could improve this situation? She have a habit of snoozing her alarm, she need to be called few times before she’s able to wake up on normal school days.

2021-01-18According to my LMP I'm 8 weeks 6 days pregnant. I just went to my first appointment today and found out the gestational sac is empty, no yolk sac and fetal pole. The measurement for the gestational sac is about 20mm. I'm scheduled for another appointment next week to double check everything. 2021-01-18My 6mo used to sleep relatively well at night when younger, waking 1-2x only apart from the 4mo regression. Recently after turning 6mo, he's been having multiple night wakes, every 1-3h. Sometimes he doesn't go back to sleep for hours. Is this a phase and how long will it last? I am exhausted :(

2021-01-19My hubby & his siblings all have hygiene & neatness peeve issues since young after his mum was a OCD hygiene peeved person. Need to mention both his siblings are childless but always come my house to instruct me clear this and that or discard them away all the time. I explained to them parents with kid sure have a messy house and I am very tired most of the times. It started this when he grew up in an environment quite clean and tidy. But I must mention he came from a poor family and there’s nothing his mum can buy when they were young, so there’s also not much clutters or mess (toys, kids’ clothes) in his maternal’s house. Anyway he did tell his maternal house really empty and doesn’t have much things when we were dating long time ago. Before we got married and moved into our new house, everything was still quite ok because we had no child back then and things were not messy and a lot. However when we finally had a child, things changed drastically, he would on & off just flared up like a madman, threw things on the floor and even ROARED like thunder at baby (even until toddler stage) and me. He said he dislike the house so messy and untidy, with so many toys and clothes hoarding the entire place (rooms & living room). Once in a while, I will try my best only when I am not so tired and have some energy to tidy bit by bit, but whenever I didn’t do it and he flared up, I told him I am very tired after taking care of baby all by myself day and night, I have no more energy to do so, but he wouldn’t understand or sympathise, instead he continued to get frustrated and we ended quarrelling, he either slammed doors to vent his anger or just roared at me because of such issue. There was even a time he got angry with something until he went back to his maternal’s house to stay over and only came home after he simmered down a bit and mainly because most of his working clothes and office notebook were at home. To be honest, I have shared with only a few friends and ALL said what he did was very childish and not loving as a husband and father. Recently, we went to his sibling’s newly renovated house to celebrate the house warming. He was so delighted and commented how nice to have a home so tidy & clean (this happens whenever he visited someone’s house). When we came back, he must have compared our house with his sibling’s house (in his heart discreetly). So yesterday, he flared up slightly again. He said he simply can’t stand why his own house is so messy with all toys and ‘rubbish’? I told him when most people have children, the house will more messy no matter what and even walls can be drawn by the children etc. I said if he’s not convinced, he can ask around his friends. I also explained those friends’ houses which were tidy he has visited before were also not tidied by the couples sometimes because almost all of them either have helpers or their parents or even both to help them out in maintaining their houses. But for us, we really have no one except myself and I am fully drained whenever I took care of our active child. I barely even have enough sleep. Everyday out of 24hours a day, I only slept about 3 to 4 hours max. FYI, there were a few times when we bought from things from a few sellers and have to collect them from their houses, he was very shocked to see how super messy their places were and I must say one of the houses were really even much messy than ours until totally no walking path to enter their living room from the main door. Others were also as messy as ours. On the spot, I whispered to him and said: “you can see for it yourself, I am not lying. All couples have kids, the house sure messy one!” He then commented all of them were lousy & USELESS parents! I disliked how he could have said this of these parents. Parents pls advise me how should I feel whenever he flares up and we (child & I) must face his roaring, slamming of doors, throwing of things and shoutings from him. We felt so fearful but we can’t do anything to make him understand it. Side note: 1) I have seen a counsellor before and was being told I was clearly under verbal and emotional abuse in fact. 😭 2) Even sometimes my hubby would be so lazy until making a cup of coffee or getting him a cutlery would be my job too. 3) Whenever (really once in a blue moon), he can’t stand all the messiness and went to clear some himself, on that particular day he would also act like a madman, anyhow throw things and vent a lot of anger which made us very scared too. 4) Just today he told me he wants to stay in his maternal house for ‘staycation’ as it’s so clean, windy and so newly renovated with great furnishings. I can’t accept this when he has his own house but he thinks of going back to his old house.

2021-01-20It started on week 5-6 where our baby once wake up at 12pm for her feed, she can't get to sleep for the whole afternoon until late evening, recently these few days it dragged until 10pm. Means baby is awake for like 8-10 hours straight! Is this normal for a 2 month old baby? Keep fussing and wanting us to carry etc. When she fall asleep in our arms she seems fine but when put her down in her cot she start to cry and we are so drained and exhausted, night time she can sleep for 5-6 hours straight before she wakes up crying for milk/diaper change. Appetite grew bigger as she is on formula feeding, max is 150ml per feed, normal feed is 120ml and sometimes will want more after a 120ml feed, poop and pee normal. Wen doc again yesterday (26 weeks) and he kept saying he fears a preterm happening...gave another jab to support pregnancy... but i dun have spotting, or low placenta or cervix problem... 2021-01-20Hello mummies, for the past few nights we noticed that our baby (3months old) got startled and cry when she is sleeping and the timing is always around 9plus 10plus in the evening. When I say startled and cry it feels as if like baby got a nightmare and woke up from a nightmare kind. But what I do know is babies don’t get dreams till they are above 1 or 2 years old. 2021-01-22My MIL is over obsessed over my baby. Whenever I wanted to carry my baby to feed, change diaper or even cuddle my baby to sleep she will interrupt me and snatch over my job from me. I know some of the gesture is good intention. But there is a moment when She keep cuddling my Baby and refuse to let me carry over to place her in the cot, claiming that baby sleep well when cuddle and keep direct me away (in fact i have completed my task on hand). And when i cuddle my LO, she say a different thing claiming I should ignore my LO and let her self smooth to fall asleep on her own. =.= she will always use buying lunch as an excuses to come my house daily and stay till evening when my hubby is home. Resulted me with no intimate bonding time with my baby. worse is she will introduce or give advises to handle my baby based on hearsay frorm her friend. When i was sleeping, she will just push my baby cot to other room without informing me. And worse, even wanted to come over on weekends to take care our baby. But i strictly told her off that weekends is precious for my hubby to have the bonding session with baby. Whe I get very fed up and complain to my hubby, hoping that she dont have to continue bringing lunch over as an excuse to interrupt my time with baby. And keep giving unsolicited advises without any explaination behide her reasons, snatching away my job as a mother. Finding excuse to stay overnight so that she can co sleep with my baby. When my hubby confronted her, she claim that she scare im alone with “depression”?! However, how should i tell my hubby in fact all her actions were due to her obsession over my baby? I feel damn sian to have the mental battle with her over who is reach out first to cuddle and take care of my baby. #advicepls

2021-01-23Dear mummies, I just had my first scan today and week 6, it was a vaginal scan and baby’s heartbeat can be seen and everything looks fine. However, I experience little brown discharge (some thin tissue like cervical mucus) after I returned home. I wonder anyone experienced this and is there a cause for concern? Wondering should I ring the hospital. Thank you
