2021-09-20When I was a little girl, my family would take a walk with our lanterns to Little Guilin. When we got there, we’d play with candles and sparklers. Later that night, we’d go home to enjoy some mooncakes and Chinese tea. This year, I’ve taken the effort to introduce mooncakes to the kids.. I can’t understand what’s not to like about them, but it’s a challenge 😅😅 I also intend to bring them to a mid autumn festival event later this week. Since I’m in an inter-racial marriage, I feel it’s important to help the kids learn about our different cultures. What are you planning to do with your family? How did you used to celebrate it when you were a child?

2021-09-20The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is a traditional Chinese festival. Though my family and i do not celebrate the festival we do enjoy eating Moon cake and watching our kids play with their handmade lantern from school or some cute ones bought from NTUC 😊! We normally get our halal mooncakes from Polar or Swee Heng as a gift or whenever we feel like having some. I like mine with 2 yolks!! How about you? What do you guys do during this celebration? 2021-09-20Hi. I have a problem that I need to hear some advice. I live opposite my parent in law and i just gave birth 2 month ago. I have been feeling depress due to my parent in law live nearby which is only few step reach our house. During confinement, they keep saying i look sick and need to eat more herb and wine. (I'm not an alcohol person). I hate it they keep saying so eventhough the fact is I'm not feeling sick at all and they keep forcing me drinking alcohol. And i cant eat any fruit during confinement too. Everything is wind to my mom in law. I thought after confinement will be better. But i fell to another depress. I feel like i never really bond with my baby. They keep coming looking at my baby and carry him during his woken hours. (I feel like i myself have no time with my baby as he always sleep during my time taking care my baby) i felt like currently Im sharing my baby with my husband family and im regretting leave only the opposite from them. Also i dont feel i have privacy now as they keep coming over. I know i shouldnt have this feeling, but i couldnt control it and felt depress now. Could anyone give advice please. 2021-09-21Noticed a hard bump on my tummy, it happens quite frequently like my baby curled up in a ball. It could be at anytime a day, either make a short appearance like 10-15 mins or longer. Usually disappears whenever i touched it (i thought my baby is playing with me) It gets pretty uncomfy too. It started since 15 weeks or so if i remember correctly. Not sure if this is completely normal?

2021-09-21I think we basically feed like 150ml per kg to our baby. My baby is 3 mths old n going by 3 hourly feed, she should drink abt 80ml per session n there should be 8 sessions. I see mummies putting their babies to sleep from 8pm onwards till morning… if so, the 8 sessions are squeezed within the day? Currently I’m feeding my baby until 10 or 11pm n would like her sleep until 5am then feed her again so that she does not miss out too much of her milk intake… is that alright? If i should let her sleep all the way then how do i make up for the lost sessions?
2021-09-21Hi Mummies! Just need a little rant here.. Any of you here happen to be a fellow childcare teacher? How do you adjust yourself to the routine and being pregnant? I am in my 6th weeks now, and taking PG class.. Quite often i have to bend down to put on their shoes (when going home) even when i was seated on a chair to change their diapers yet. My lower back will ache everytime when i get home, sometimes my lower abdomen will have some discomfort. My laoshi have been very supportive eversince i broke the news to her.. She don’t allow me to carry the children cots, bending down too much. Most of the times she will send the children out, so that i don’t have to bend down and put the children shoes for them. After she goes home, i am left with no choice but to send the children out (because the class teacher are to send the children out strictly) I am feeling so tired everytime, i know i’m quite early in my pregnancy.. but sometime I’m wondering if i can try asking for HL from my gynae (private) just to rest at home for few days.. 😥

2021-09-21I'm having trouble keeping any sort of liquid down, be it plain cold water, or warm water, or sweet drinks or milk. Feeling very thirsty, but the moment I drink anything I start feeling so sick and my mouth feels yuckish. I can only get soup down at the moment, but so so thirsty!

2021-09-21Hi mummies. My baby is 7 months. At this age he’s suppose to weight 8.5kg according to the doc in poly. But he’s only 7kg. He drinks milk 120ml but sometimes he doesnt finish it. Only at night when he’s sleeping we’ll give him 150ml and will finished up. Also his eating usually i’ll give rice, carrot and meat sometimes all these i’ll blend but he only eats a little. I dont really everyday gave the same thing. I’ll change recipe at times. How to resolve this issue? Quite worrying.

2021-09-21My LO is currently 2 months old. Since birth, i have given her mixed milk (direct latch, EBM & formula). She has no problems drinking milk from the bottle until now. All of a sudden, she just outright refuse the bottle but she will drink if i direct latch. Should i bring my LO to see a PD? Is it a cause of concern? Should i wait till she is very hungry to bottle feed her as i will be returning back to work soon. This is super worrying.

2021-09-21hi Mummies its my second pregnancy & im 30weeks as of today. my last checkup was abt a mth ago, had the Glucose test & i was diagnosed with GDM. oh and also low placenta when i went for the 20weeks detailed scan. however, i have not been attending any of my recent checkups or even the GDM consultation that was scheduled weeks ago. i am very tired since i have to look after my first child & my new place, i just dont have the energy to do anything or want to go anywhere as im scared of the rising covid cases. but now that i am 30weeks & with the condition that i am in, i honestly am worrying for both myself & the baby. 😭 i did not take any supplements, folic acid etc since the start of my pregnancy. i feel rlly bad since i am not doing the best like my first.. i cant get over it. 😢😢😢

2021-09-21From primary all the way till adulthood. I was constantly put in situations where I feel abandoned, unwanted and unsafe almost every single day, resulting to my complex mental illness. Recently, I just realised my husband whom I love so much has all along been causing my depression to get worse. To put it bluntly, he just gotten use to taking instead of giving for his whole life and by the time he realise what he has been doing to me, it’s too late. I rarely noticed I got mistreated until it’s too late. Recently, we had a baby. A beautiful, cheeky one what crave lots of human interaction. But almost everyday, I feel like I am the only one responsible for him. (besides providing, my husband doesn’t help with the routine or he’ll just say hello to the baby when he got home then resume with his own life), It felt as thou when comes to taking care, I don’t have a husband. He gets stress easily and everytime when he needs to work, he needs to take a long break before starting his work. And if there’s any slight distractions, he will need to start the whole process again. To make things worse, he procrastinate in his work. From his words and expressions, he seems to be trying his best, but due to the amount of damage done, I find it hard to trust. Sometimes I wonder, is it honestly the way it should be when there’s one homemaker and one provider? On the another hand, my family whom has causes lots of un-heal scar changed. They were involved from the beginning of my pregnancy and often offer to help even up to now. But as I was neglecting and ignored badly under their care (I was almost a child rape victim), I get triggered very easily by certain similar actions or words. Both of them are the closest to me and are the one who I should look for help with caring of my baby. But my husband who should be doing more, cannot cope, and my family who wants to help triggers my pain. I feel like I’m alone. All I’m doing now, is praying that my baby won’t have to go through what I went through. Trying to be strong for him and play with him even when I’m holding my tears back. I have been seeking mental help for 4 years but times like these makes me realise I’m no where near recovery. I see no light at the end of the tunnel.

We learn recently that she can replace one milk feed with one solid meal, but her total milk feed is around 660ml (150ml per feed) which is lesser than the recommended intake. Dropping one feed mean it will be way too little for her. Anyone had tried replacing one feed with solid around same age?

2021-09-23My 3mo baby doesn't latch properly when her nose is block. PD and friends suggested to clean baby nose using Sterimar and nasal aspirator. However, the Sterimar spray is so strong! The dirt usually ends up going up the nose and down the throat. My baby also cries when I suck with the nasal aspirator, I think it hurts her. Mummies, is it necessary to use the nasal aspirator with Sterimar? Any other methods to clear the nose?🥺

2021-09-23#pleasehelp I’m having cramps from raising my voice at work (I worked in an open concept childcare and when other classes get noisy, I need to raise my voice for children to hear me). I first got it on last Friday and didn’t bother but the cramps came on and off over the weekends and again on Monday. So on Tuesday I went to see a GP whom sent me to the ER. But the ER said baby is too small (4 weeks) and nothing can be seen on the scan and send me home without MC or HL hence I continued to work the next day. Just told me to come back next week for another scan and blood test at Week 5. Should I be concerned about the cramps? I’m so worried about miscarriage as I tried for 3 years before I finally conceived via IUI… It’s been a whole week now, and I have been cramping on and off. #advicepls

I heard its normal to have high sex drive during 2nd tri but my husband and i only manage todo it once bcs the gyne actually told us to avoid sex as during our 20w scan my placenta was vr low. 2021-09-24I got positive line on pregnancy test at 3 DPO but few days later i checked again turns out a faint line. And until now i think at 7 DPO still have a faint line on a pregnancy test. I used clear blue to checked and one time i used clear blue digital but it says not pregnant. When u opened it it got two strong lines. So i want to know if i'm pregnant or not? Or is it to early for me to do a pregnancy test check? I do some research on google and youtube but still im blur. I hve all the pregnancy symptoms and got a cramp few days after ovulation. 2021-09-24Hello mommies My baby was bottle trained since birth (premature baby) and he has no issue taking bottles until 5 months old, when I started to introduce him to the boobies. Now he is 6 months plus and stuck with me 24/7 to nurse. And completely strike off bottles when I tried giving him. I am super exhausted and I want my family to be part of feeding my baby with a bottle too. It’s hard for me to do my work or leave the house to meet a friend or have me time and personal space when my baby needs me all the time. I have tried changing bottles and teats from TT, Pigeon, and NUK. I don’t know if I should spend on other bottle brands again. Need help and suggestions from mommies who have encountered this phase.

2021-09-25Hi I am 6w6d so far. Found out I was expecting at 3w4d and went for blood test and scan at 5w to check location to ensure it’s in uterus. Now waiting for 8w scan for heartbeat and edd etc. The thing is I have almost no symptoms (I know I should be grateful, and in a way I am cos I can still continue with my workouts). I don’t have morning sickness, no headaches and giddiness, no food aversions, sense of smell is regular, no cramping, no more than usual discharge.. Just swollen boobs, very mild backache once, higher body temp, and fatigue that is easily cleared when I go for a run/walk/cycle. I can’t help but feel like nothing’s happening.. other than the fact I know I’m pregnant because of tests. So this makes me worried, like how do I know if the pregnancy is still going fine if I feel nothing..? Some days I feel like all I can do to reassure myself is to take another home pregnancy test.

Currently 7w.On 21/09 I had some bleeding with a small clot and followed by spotting. Rushed to a&e, did a vaginal ultrasound. Gyne said, baby was fine heart beat was alright. I asked if I had any visible clots which is now bleeding. She couldn't see anything she said. I was given 3 days mc and prescribed to take dhupston 3x a day. As of today Its been 4 days. I still have light bleeding and spotting but mostly dark red or brownish with small clots. No pain just light cramping and lower back pain. I have been very worried and upset. I did some mild sorting of my make-up, earrings to keep my mind off this . Have been resting most of the time. Sleeping and just laying on couch. My current job has no wfh option, just recently I took up a new offer in a company which allows wfh. In the long run it will be useful and convenient for me when I progress in my pregnancy. I don't think I have any kind of stress. My mind is quite clear. I still am not sure if all these are contributing factors. Has anyone experienced anything similar . How long does the bleeding take to stop after taking duphaston. Please share anything that you know. 2021-09-25My 1 year old has always been an easy baby. He can sleep by himself. When he wake up at night it is only for milk and will go back to sleep straight away. Only recently after his fever (mmr mmrv injection), he has been waking up in the middle of the night a few times. He will cry and cry as though he is in discomfort. Gave him milk and changed diapers and he will still cry so badly. We did notice a change in his appetite after his fever, he wont eat much nor finish his milk. I do see a tooth erupt but all these while his 6 teeth grew he has never been this way. He was all chill during his teething times. Only after this first high fever he didnt eat and sleep well. 2021-09-25Hi! I need opinions! I just gave birth to my daughter and my husband invited his whole family to visit my baby. I was so uncomfortable cuz I’m still in pain and it’s been only 2 days I’ve been discharge from the hospital. I find it so rude that my brother in law asked for my MIL’s permission to carry my daughter instead of asking my permission. My MIL then carry my baby and pass her to my BIL. 2021-09-25Is it necc to wear the abdominal binder given by the hospital? I stopped wearing mine 1 week pp due to an allergic rash. I tried wearing it again recently (currently at 2 weeks pp) but I feel so much more pressure and discomfort/soreness at wound area when walking around. Should i still force myself to wear the binder? Or is it ok to forgo wearing it?
2021-09-25Hi moms , my baby is 6 months and i am having the most difficult time he barely sleeps at night not having sound sleep, wakes up every 2 hrs, also in day time sleep time has been changed, when he wakes up every 2 hrs hes soo cranky and just cries then when i put in my lap to sleep he will sleep if i put him down hes awake starts crawling. Please advise what is happening
