2021-08-30Hi mummies my baby is a week old now. I’m doing both breastfeeding (direct latch and expressed) and formula for baby. When feeding ebm or formula we’re doing cup feeding as we saw that when we used bottle (I’m using hegen) he would refuse to latch thereafter. Wondering if there are other brands of bottles that are more suitable or should I stick with cup feeding until he’s more used to latching?

2021-08-30Hi mommies I’d like to ask if there’s any mommy experiencing baby rejecting the formula he/she usually drinks? My baby now is coming to 6months old. He was bottle trained since he was a premature baby. Had no issue giving him bottle (ebm & fm) but now he kept rejecting his formula after I introduced him to my boobs. I’m really tired having my baby attached to the boob and need some space. I want my husband to give fm occasionally so that I can catch extra Zs. Should I change formula? He used to Karihome but not anymore. I’ve tried Enfamil, Abbot Grow, Frisolac and baby rejects them. Any tips and suggestions?

I am deciding between Yue Zi Le and Tian Wei, but leaning towards yuezile cos they offer choices for your meals. That said, I also realized Tian Wei’s prides themselves on their pro-lactation meals, and wonder if Yue Zi Le’s meals would be able to match up in boosting lactation supply. If Tian Wei is indeed better in boosting lactation supply, I’ll prob go with Tian Wei instead. TIA!

2021-08-30Hi mommies! My almost 9 mo bb is taking his influenza jab this coming thurs and he seem to have a v mild allergy w eggs. We fed him boil egg yolk twice, scrambled egg white twice- all ok. Then we tried whole egg scrambled the first time, all well but the second and third time we gave whole egg scrambled, he developed some red patches around his lips. It isn’t itchy or painful, red patches aren’t raised too. Bb doesn’t show any sign of discomfort, v active and those red patches went away within 15-20mins. Any mommies have similar experiences? Can he still take the jab? Will this allergy go away as he gets older? TIA! :-) #advicepls #1stimemom

2021-08-30What is the desired income level before having children? Assuming one goes under subsidised as well as the long term cost. My father seems to think that me and my wife are not earning enough to have a child. While having a child later might mean we are more financially stable, there is also a risk that we have to spend even more money for things like fertility treatment as well as other unexpected expenses to care for the child if something happens as a result of having a child when one is much older. Any advise or experience to share?

2021-08-30I’m currently at week 37 and will be due in three weeks time. My gynae did say it’s ok for me to go with the jab, I told him I will do it after giving birth and he said ok. However, looking at the recent rising cases and delta variant. I’m thinking of taking the 1st jab, my husband also encourage me to go for it. 2021-08-30This may not be a medically serious question haha but does anyone feel sooooo emotional out of nowhere, I have worries about delivering, scared for life and death, both me and baby and even for my husband. Felt so much love that my heart is bursting and I can cry from it. Last week I went to gynae for first time check up. And the cost is $150 just screening and hear the heartbeat. So the doc recommended us a package. Can the down the attachment. $700 for normal checkup until delivery..but it's not include the delivery fee. Issit worth it? Because I count less than 5x to normal checkup. Went to emergency,monitor the baby at delivery suite, doctor check my vagina there's no sign of where the blood comes from. Today afternoon I went to shower I did not see any blood when I went down to nuh kopitiam around 5pm I went to the toilet there's blood stains inform my nurse they say need to monitor more. 2021-08-30my girl is 6 weeks old. the first 4 weeks was cared for by nanny and she has no problem finishing her milk. when nanny left, we took over week 5 and she is good. we increase the amount slightly and she drank it all in quite regular intervals. however we experienced difficulties in week 6. she stopped drinking halfway through, fell asleep and reject the milk bottle. initially i found out that we forgot to change to teat to a larger size. after changing, things improved slightly but she is nowhere near her behaviour in week 5. sometimes she is drinking (per interval) less than what she had in week 5. we are puzzled. do we need to change to a different milk bottle with a different teat? yes we understand that the amount of milk intake required against her weight is just an approximate guideline and we dont need to exactly follow it. but now, she seems to be drinking lesser. also, at week 6, do i need to wake her up at night to feed if she dont cue?

2021-08-31Hello:) Since last Friday I have been experiencing a mucous like vaginal discharge but it’s slightly pinkish coloured. I monitored it for two days and bcoz it stayed the same I consulted my Doctor. She advised me to go to A&E. We went to A&E and the attending doctors checked everything- fetal scans, baby position, cervix size and opening and we were informed that no red flags or areas of concern are seen. But since the cause of colour change was not known they monitored the heart rate and for long. At the end the doctors said it’s nothing to worry about and gave me medications to stop the bleeding since everything inside looks normal- which was a big relief! Past 2 days I am taking those medications as the doctor advised- the frequency of discharge is less but it’s still coloured and not white! Being a first timer, I am a little worried! Wanted to ask you guys, should I be worried or what should I do?

2021-08-31Hi I’m at week 7 day 3, was experiencing terrible bloating and gagging, occasionally vomiting for last week. But today I suddenly don’t have the nausea symptoms. 2021-08-31Best multipurpose cream in my opinion. It really doubles up/triples up as what the product claims to be. Effective for adults too! I scalded myself accidentally and didn’t have any burn creams at home. Remembered I bought Sudocrem and quickly used it. Worked its magic on me too! 👍🏼

Her tone of voice etc. I felt like she more concerned about the baby than me Her overly concern and worry-ness and advices make me turn off. I know what i’m supposed to do etc. Just hope to have a peaceful day after work): now my mood is ruined. She doesn’t stay with me. But come once in awhile during weekday and come every weekend. 2021-09-01Hi mummies, my LO is 3 months old. Fully breastmilk fed. Last night was the first time he STTN from 11pm-9am. During his first morning feed, he spit up some milk with a wet burp. So my plan for check in day, to bring my oldest BM to the hotel in cooler bag (with frozen ice packs to keep it cool). Will cont Pumping and give BM during staycation. Problem is the ice packs will not be frozen anymore after 3 days. Any advice on how can I preserve the ice packs on the 3rd day when bringing home the rest of the expressed BM. Unless its fine for BM to be at room temperature when I'm otw home? Appreciate any suggestions! Thank you!

So after googling it I learned that bunnies are a carrier of LCMV, a virus that causes miscarriage and birth defects. 2021-09-03I had “menstrual-like bleeding” on 13th Aug. It lasted like less than 2 days. Went for a check, it’s negative. I’ve never had something like this before. Coz I usually had a fixed 28 days cycle. Tracked my ovulation after the last “menses” & tried again, fingers crossed. Hopefully it’s good news. Been having sore breasts, crampings & mood swings similar to PMS.

But only yesterday, after each feeding, my boy vomitted everything out like merlion for almost 5 times and making me worried. He pooped twice (once diluted, 2nd normal) at night.
