- 2021-08-16Which types of fish are good in increasing milk supply? Need advice
- 2021-08-16Some mums prefer their wipes to have that added fragrance on the wipes but I like these coz there isn’t. The sheets come out easily and you don’t have the problem of trying to separate the sheets when you’re in the middle of changing a dirty diaper.
- 2021-08-16It’s got that signature J&J powdery scent that we all grew up with but it wasn’t for me. Sheets are nice, thick and good quality.
- 2021-08-16Used this for sometime but they have a really weird smell to them. Switched up for another brand that worked just as well.
- 2021-08-16Hi, anyone feels nausea after drinking maternity milk? I'm drinking maternity milk as a replacement to my multivitamins cause I'm nausea after taking them as well.. Worried that baby doesn't have enough nutrients. I'm in first tri and haven't really been taking my supplements. 😪
- 2021-08-16I would like to know are there any mommies who are vaccinated and still infected with covid?
- 2021-08-16Got a few tins of maternal milk, would like to bless them but not sure how. Anyone knows where I can? I am lactose intolerant, tried a couple of sachets frm one of the samples and didn’t feel good after.
- 2021-08-16Hi mummies, are there any mummies who has history of autoimmune attacks and are now pregnant have taken covid vaccination? I'm so in dilemma whether to take the vaccination or not. I'm a public officer but has no intereaction with public. But with the new guideline from PSD, I'm very lost and stress... 😭😭😭

- 2021-08-16Hi mummies, my baby girl is 3MO weighting about 5.25kg. Her daily milk intake is between 470-550ml only, since birth till now its the same amount. She can goes up to 5 or 6hrs only drinking 40ml or even not drinking. She uses her tongue to push the teat out or cries when I feed her. I've tried changing bottles too and I'm prescribed by PD to feed her with enfamil post discharged formula as there's higher calories in it. Does anyone faces the same issue?

- 2021-08-16Hi guys.
I'm wondering if my husband taking home $3k+ is enough for a small family and for me to be a Stay-at-Home-Mother.
I'm currently pregnant so we are expecting a child, and also a 5-Room BTO mortgage ($450k).
We have already saved $50k for Reno and appliances for our future home. And we both have some savings.
We don't own a car, depend on the bus/MRT all the time, and rarely do anything luxurious. Just eat out at times in the weekends and small gifts for each other occasionally. My shoppings are mainly done on Taobao and clothes are rarely over $25.
My current job has long hours and need me to be alert even on non-working days. Sometimes I also need to work even after getting home or during the weekends. I also have to spend money for materials which I cannot claim. This job expects a lot but doesn't pay much, and the benefits are pathetic. I'm only taking home around $2.5k and the increments are peanuts. I don't think I can carry on when I have a child.
Is it possible to survive on my husband's pay alone? Would I really need to lead a frugal lifestyle? Any SAHM with experience?

- 2021-08-16Dear all experienced mothers, do you think if baby rocker is necessary? Is it useful and should I get one ?
I’m planning to let my mum takes care of my son after my maternity leave (4 mths). My mum insisted on getting the traditional sarong rocker so that it is easier for her to take care of the baby. Is there any alternatives other than the traditional rocker?
Should the baby practices certain sleeping habits during the first 4 months so that he can sleep more independently when my mum takes care of him ?
Please share your experiences pls!
Thanks!

- 2021-08-16Muslin swaddles are great for baby’s sensitive skin. Because they come in large squares, you can use them to drape over your baby carrier to create a more conducive environment for when baby sleeps outside (the material is so breathable) or you can drape them over your shoulder as a burp cloth. Couldn’t go without these.
- 2021-08-16My kids would always use these when just after a rainy day, especially when all the snails come out of hiding!
Lots of fun and they learn through exploration.
- 2021-08-16Went to gynae visit and mention that baby did not gain weight since last scan 1 week ago. 36+3 2.38kg.
Was scheduled fetal growth scan and dropple scan. Very worried right now. Anyone been through the same?
- 2021-08-16Everytime my husband and i have the occasion or milestone. He always give me problem.
He shift my girl pillow that directly facing the door, and i shift back unknowingly AND HE START to GIVE ME AN ATTITUDE. so i ask why do he need to raise is voice, he ended up got triggered and quarrel w me lol FOR STUPID THING. ok nvm he went bk to inlaw house, he blame the whole shit on me. he MENTION DIVORCE JUST BCUS HE STRESS. LOL. Just because HE THINK i have been constantly scolding our LO. He didnt even know why i scolded her at the first place and sometime he didnt approach to help.
each time i felt bad and apologise to her because i couldn't control my emotions as im been tense and stress and tired. Most of the time when im trying to make her sleep because she just tired and doesnt want to sleep keep throwing fuss no matter what i did and i got so frustrated and dk what she wants so my temper came out abit. IDK IF ANY MUMMIES CAN RELATE.
DUDE DOES NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT OUR LO WANT AND IM THE ONE TEACHIBG MY LO AS WELL
AND GUESS WHAT MY HUSBAND SAY? "YOU JUST NEED TO TAKE CARE OF HER" Dude think that TAKING CARE OF A CHILD IS EASIER THAN WORK. I ask him go take care he rejected me. CONTRADICT???? & IN ALL THE FIGHT IM TELLING HIM THE FACTS AND TRUTH, HE ENDED UP BLAME THE PACIFER FOR MAKING HIM IRRITATED AND CONTINUE TO THINK I SCOLD OUR LO IS MAKING HIM LOSE PAITENCE HE SAY HE DW TALK ABOUT IT ANYMORE BECAUSE IT ISNT GOING ANYWHERE WHEN HE CANT ACCEPT HIS WRONG. Dude think that he deserve a praise because hes help tc LO when its his fking job.
dude got his stress relieve and can goout whatever he want while i have to take care of LO everyday. So u think why i wont get so angry? He think marrriage is a joke? i been staying in his life because of what he fail in life im been pushing him up and giving him motivation and this is what he say to me lol

- 2021-08-17Hello im preparing the nursery items before delivering and would like to ask the following qns:
1. When is it a good time to start sterilizing bottles and pump parts?
2. How many bottle sets do you sterilize?
3. After sterilizing and drying (i bought an avent sterilizer and dryer), do i just leave the bottles in the dryer? Or keep them in a separate “clean box”?
4. If i sterilize/dry 2 bottles at once, i open the dryer and use one of the bottles, do i have to sterilize the other one again before using?

So basically gynae been saying that baby head is really lowered down alr + baby is 2.5kg at 32 weeks. I’m just wandering, is this a sign of early labour too? Or I can get into labour soon because baby head is lowered down?

- 2021-08-18hi all, i recently posted about feeling very unwell at work and thinking if i should go on unpaid leave for the time being.
since then i found out that i was slightly anemic which makes work (teacher) reasonably tougher as i am constantly talking/raising my voice and walking, running around.
i finally asked for unpaid leave but was denied my request by HR and now i feel more depressed and lost than ever. my gynae refused to write a memo for me to be excused for work (she also refused HL) and has referred me to see a counselor instead.
i really don't feel safe at all in my current environment and have been crying everyday after work and sometimes even at work too.
i just feel so...unsupported and down and i really don't know what to do now. any idea if my GP is able to write the memo instead? would really love any advice i could get...thank you in advance 🤍

- 2021-08-18Was living with in law when I gave birth. Was a 3 storey house and few nannies will take up the job. The nanny was bad at teaching breastfeeding, and keep coming to me to complain about my mil. My mil is a selfish person who asked the son to fetch her home from outside on the day I was discharged. So I failed at breastfeeding and had to do exclusive pumping. Everyday I’m tired. I resent my mil - my baby was not able to latch and always end up hungry crying. I can’t forgive my mil who made me move in after marriage and has disallowed my baby to meet her. I have moved out. Am I unreasonable?

- 2021-08-18When does your baby start sitting up without support?
My LO is 6m old and still requires me to support her when sitting. She gets a little wobbly and can't really balance herself yet. She has yet to flip from her belly to her back.
I am worried that her development is delayed. :(

- 2021-08-18I have been told by a lactation consultant that I should nurse my 1+month baby for 20 minutes on one breast before switching to the other breast for 10 minutes.
Does anyone follow this and does it work for you? Or can you please share how long do you usually nurse for on each breast?
When I google, the results mostly advise that we let baby decide and control the timing of how long he wants to feed though.

- 2021-08-18Hi mummies, I just entered 3rd trimester, currently week 28. I have a pulling pain on my lower right abdomen this morning till evening. And generally, my baby seems to move quite minimally (maybe just not an active baby?).
Wondering if it is normal for minimal movement? Anyone has such experience of baby not very active but is still healthy at birth?
Had a miscarriage before, hence a bit worried. Thanks!

- 2021-08-19Hi all, I did an abdominal scan at the gynae at what I believe was 6 weeks based on LMP but the scan measured the gestational sac as 5 weeks, doctor said there is a yolk sac but no heartbeat found so will have to return 2 weeks later for another scan. It's measuring one week behind and now I'm worried that this is a missed miscarriage.
Doesn't help that I'm 39 and this is my first ever pregnancy after trying for 2 years.
Is it normal to measure behind time and no heartbeat at 6 weeks scan?

Should I test with a pregnancy kit or wait it out?

- 2021-08-19I’ve used this for my first 2 births and the results were amazing. I remember I had skin peeling and a little bleeding and this got that cured and solved almost overnight. A real life-saver!

- 2021-08-19Always felt that giving babies a bath can really hurt a mama’s back if it’s not comfortable. Having baby in a tub that is elevated always helps. The fact that this folds away also helps in terms of storage.
- 2021-08-19Very accurate readings and a great lifesaver when you need to know if baby’s not well. The only thing is the caps are not cheap and it can disturb baby when you have to put it into the ear and there’s the beep sound. Prefer using the one for the forehead although slightly less accurate.

- 2021-08-19Hi, I live in a 4 room hdb but I converted 2 rooms into one room (mbr + study) combined. Currently my helper and 1st kid are living in the other bedroom. I am thinking of having a 2nd kid but not sure how the sleeping arrangements will be. I plan to get the newborn to sleep with the helper, so my older kid (around 2 years old by the time the 2nd kid is born) will either have to:
- move in to sleep with me
- get all 3 of them to share room (helper n 2 kids)
- add a glass door partition between my mbr n study and get my first kid to sleep there
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

- 2021-08-19Am 39w5d today. Had bloody show this morning followed by diarrhea kind of stomach ache. Went to KKH Delivery Suite at 3pm to check if cervix is dilated. Was only 2cm dilated and gynae did membrane sweep, then was told to go home as I didn't want to be induced. Gynae said to look out for labour symptoms within the next few days. If still no symptoms, have to be induced on Mon.
What is the success rate of the membrane sweep and how long after membrane sweep did you go into labour?
I don't want to be induced.

- 2021-08-20Hi.
I am a wife and mother of 2. I'm currently pregnant with #3 (26 weeks)
My husband lost his job because of covid but that's ok because SSO helped us.
Recently, my younger brother get himself involved with the wrong people and they are finding him. My parents lodged a police report but that's not just it. They are staying at my house now.
At first, I thought it's ok for a couple of days but I don't know until when because they are afraid to go home. I don't mind them staying him if they help a little with house chores.
The house was cleaned before they came and now it doesn't even look like a home anymore. 24/7 electricity was on even water! They didn't off the tap after use.
Their house is also a messed and their water was cut too. Are they going to make my bills go up and cut too? I'm so stressed. I provide them food everyday. I don't mean to be stingy but if you come to my house and see... oh my god. My brothers even make this house like a hotel... going in and out, bringing friends over.
I have to use most of my savings for them. He make problem and I have to settle? 😓 The whole family is living with me and I feel like I have so many responsibilities to provide for them when my financial is tight. The money is enough if it's just for me and children but including them.... trust me not enough at all and they kept asking for so many things.

- 2021-08-20I'm in my week 19 and unvaccinated as I chose not to till after giving birth. My MIL keeps wanting me to use a screenshot of her fully vaccinated Tracetogther status to enter restaurants to eat with the family. I'm worried about the legality implications should I get caught (preggies look more suss in this situation) and also worried about getting covid as well. What should I do...

- 2021-08-20Mustela really delivers and their ingredients list is amazing. Just that it’s not sustainable for us as a family of 5 with 3 kids and an adult who have eczema. Highly recommend their moisturiser tho.

- 2021-08-20I'm 36w3d now (FTM) and my initial EDD was on 15th Sept, but my gynae advised to induce the baby on 38w2d as the baby's tummy size was low at 35w2d growth scan. It was at 7th centile during 32w2d growth scan and the overall weight was around 1.7kg, so we were told to do another growth scan at 35w to ensure on the tummy growth, but the tummy growth was down to 2nd centile and the overall weight was about only 2kg, so my gynae has suggested to induce me on 2nd Sept so as to give birth on 3rd Sept i.e. 38w2d and asked us to visit every week to scan the water level and blood flow.
On our yesterday's visit at 36w2d, our gynae told us that she will be inducing on 37w3d even though the blood flow and the water level are normal. Since the growth scan was scheduled to be done only in 3 weeks interval, gynae said that she don't want to take risk and want to deliver at the earliest possible.
Please advice if the baby's weight would be normal by then and the delivery will be normal as well.

- 2021-08-21hi mummies. Currently im 22 weeks plus preg and my height is 163cm. Currently im 5 mnths but i feel that my baby bump quite small. Is it normal? My previous check up dr mention that baby is growing within the range. Somehow i get offended when some say my baby bump small for a 5 mnths pregnancy and also asked me to eat more. I do eat and my portion quite alot for every meal. I do eat fruits n veggies. Sometimes i also crave for smtg sweet like chocolate, waffles etc. I always eat my dinner like 7 plus pm and sometimes my late dinner can be 9pm. Then afterthat i stop eating. I feel full so easily. I cannot force myself to eat alot right if u are full..They say dont eat for two coz u will gain unnecessarily weight. 😪 I also do drink lots of plain water and the only sweet drink that i had is only milo ice. #firstbaby #1stimemom #pregnancy #advicepls

- 2021-08-21It’s made of very good quality, lightweight to shift around the house and you can also give babe the bottle on it coz it’s upright enough.
- 2021-08-21These are sturdy as they wrap round the base of the bed, grab firm to the other side (on the underside of the mattress), and it doesn’t fall. A little fiddly to fold down tho.
- 2021-08-21Slighty paded. easy to open and place baby to change nappy. with inserts available to put wet tissue and extra diaper.
- 2021-08-21So verstaile, soft and lovely colours. I use this to cover when breast feeding, pumping milk, wrap my baby or even use it as baby towel. .

- 2021-08-21Hi experienced mummies who hired a confinement nanny,
I’ll be delivering in a few months time and currently preparing for the baby and confinement nanny which I had engaged few months back.
May I know what are the duties of a confinement nanny?
Does she sleeps with the baby at night?
What are the household chores will she help out with?
And also, do they wash their clothes and undergarments together with your clothes or separately?
Thank you in advance! (:

So frustrating that it's been 8 days now that I can view my notifications at all (I posted & needed to look at the reply, did not bookmarked that post) and it kept prompting error. Feedback to the team but no reply from them at all.
- 2021-08-21Have been visiting my OB due to its affordability (only $750 package price) and accessibility. I think he is good for normal pregnancy with no complications, and he is the kind of doctor that is very easy going in terms of management (like telling me its ok to eat omakase and drink occasional wine though I didnt. Allowing me to skip ogtt because my post meal glucose is within range). However, during my 20th week scan, baby was shown to have moderate heart valve regurgitation and it worried me. He maintained the casual attitude and told me its normal and will usually go away on its own. He only ordered a non urgent second scan when I felt baby reduced movement at 28 weeks. He said that even if baby is in distress, he will not be able to do anything about it and baby is too young to be delivered anyway. This time round the scan is still showing the valve regurgitation so I asked the sonographer to contact him. Despite my anxiety, he said there wasn't a need to bring forward the appointment. I'm feeling very anxious and not reassured AT ALL. Losing sleep due to anxiety while waiting for my next appointment in 2 weeks. Oh and he also brushed off my palpitation and advised me to seek GP because he "doesn't see mother's condition" and "only focuses on fetus wellbeing". Should I continue putting faith in him or should I seek a second opinion? If so, are there any suggestions for a second opinion? Or am I just being too sensitive and anal with his management?
I'm currently on my #week29 already...#firstbaby #pleasehelp #1stimemom #pregnancy #advicepls
