- 2021-08-09Hello dear fellow mummies, are you kept awake at night by strong baby movements? I am about 29-30 weeks now, and would find some strong movements painful and uncomfortable, especially when i am trying to fall asleep on my left side. Any similar experience? Is this normal? Thanks in advance! :)
- 2021-08-09Very affordable and baby loved it. It’s colourful and makes rustling sounds. Washable too!
- 2021-08-09Am going back to work in less than a month's time. And I cry everyday at the thought of it. I am so attached to my baby that I can't go anywhere without her. I'm so depress.
My husband told me to just quit, but I don't want to burden him with all the finances. Its also hard to find a part time/home base job in times like these.
My boss does not believe in working from home either. When everyone is supposed to work from home as much as possible, he still insist everyone to return to the office daily. So requesting to wfh is not an option.
Ultimately, I think I'll still be returning to work. I just hope by talking it out, it would take abit of the depression away and ease back on the crying a little. But I guess it isn't helping.
- 2021-08-09Hi, I’m currently pregnant with no 2, due soon. With covid restrictions, we are unable to bring our in law or any nanny to stay( living in one room unit). Basically it’s only hubby, me and my child. Just wondering is there any ad hoc babysitter to hire just to tag alone with my elder in hsptl during my labour? Is it even possible? What if my labour start at mid nite?. Or the only option is to deliver baby without husband. As I need him to be with my no1. She’s 4 btw. Any suggestion?
- 2021-08-09hello mummies, is this normal ? i can have constipation and then diarrhea the next hours.

- 2021-08-09walked in to the labour suite as I was having pelvic pain. I take private at kkh but my gynae was not in to attend to me. Attending Doctor kept mentioning ‘you need rest a lot of it’. However, when requested for HL, she couldn’t even provide me with. I have trouble walking with this pelvic pain and that’s why I decide to walk in labour suite. (Paid so much to go home with no medications/HL) and just a few days mc.
Has anyone experience this?

- 2021-08-09My mum wants to do confinement for me but has fear of managing newborn infants for the first 2 weeks as infant tend to be very soft and vulnerable. Is there any tips around it? Will the mother (me) or husband be able to do it ourselves if we go for pre natal courses to get educated on how to shower them? Or, is there a possibility of outsourcing it by getting a nurse to help just for the 2 weeks? If so, anyone has contacts to recommend? Thanks!

- 2021-08-09This toy is a basic essential for me - meaning if I bought no other toys for my children, it would be this and the shape sorter. Both teach a myriad of skills and extremely versatile. - 2021-08-09Hello mummies. My 28 mo has finished breastfeeding and I have 6 x bottles of Fenugreek tablets which I'd rather not waste. (One x Belvea, 5 x Nature's Own brand). Helped me with my milk production. Let me know if you'd like them
- 2021-08-09Hi all.
I'm a new dad here. My baby is 4 months 16 days old. 2 weeks ago he start to roll onto his tummy while he is in deep sleep. My wife and I have read online and it is strongly not recommended. He is currently able to roll onto his tummy on his own and able to lift his head firmly on his own. He is still not able to roll back onto his back. So we have been taking shifts to watch over him at night. Flipping him back to his back whenever he flips to his tummy. I personally hate this as it pains me to disrupt his sleep and sometimes he will whine and feels uncomfortable when he is not allow to sleep on his tummy. Need some help here. #firstbaby #1stTimeDad #tummysleeping

- 2021-08-10Ever since I'm becoming pregnant unexpectedly in my late 30s, my MiL is being cold towards me. I have a stepson (her only grandson-my husband's son from his previous marriage) who he closes to me. I can sense that she is being jealous of me. I treat him as my own son not as a stepson. But well, I treat it as a challenge during pregnancy. Still thinking of sending my unborn son/daughter to infant care once he/she borns. As I know my MiL's health condition is not so well. Right now, I am in my 18 weeks. Still working. Every month, I still giving her money. As a respect. I'm staying with my inLaws as the house belongs to my husband. I did some house chores (even I am feeling unwell due to the pregnancy) but not for cooking as my MiL does it. The kitchen belongs to her. Just need some place to expressing my feelings.

- 2021-08-10I am in my 31 weeks now. My boss told me to go for ML a few days before my EDD. Last week on my 30weeks pregnant i told her that I am planning to go 2 weeks earlier before my EDD cause I needed a rest from traveling to work and also get a rest from computer work before my EDD reach. In-fact this is my 1st baby. Went for checkup the other day and the doctor told me that current update my baby is overweight 29weeks pregnant and baby is 1.87 kg. I am a petite size and the doctor said that since i am a small size not that tall so my baby cannot be heavy. I am actually tired to travel to work everyday with my backpain and also my feet swollen badly. I have low blood and last week I couldn’t wake up from bed due to light headed I couldn’t take anymore mc/al cause i’ve use up all as what my company said. They told me that they started to use my ML if any of this days I couldn’t make if for work. Is it okay to do so? I am so stress with work they’re very confusing. #toxicworkplace

- 2021-08-10Hi Mommies, am in a dilemma . I am 7 months pregnant and unvaccinated due to personal reasons such as the vaccine is still new and even though all mommies who have taken the vaccine seems to be okay, I am not sure what impact this vaccine may cause 1 or 2 years down the road I am also worried how my body will react to the vaccine
but the again, with the current variant which is stronger and news on how pregnant mothers are more vulnerable it makes me want to take the vaccine to protect myself and baby
ive asked my doctor. she didnt encourage or discourage me she just told me it’s a personal choice and it’s up to me.
wanna hear from all pregnant mommies! vaccinated or non vaccinated, why did you make that decision?
thank you in advance!❤️❤️

- 2021-08-10Hi!! I'm a subsidized patient at kkh and the most recent gynae i went to see wants me to get induced on week 38 even though my baby size is not that big. I'm on metformin and have gd though and that is his concern. On week 36 my bb is 2.2kg. Do I really have to go for inducing on week 38? I'm week 37 currently. I'm very scared of inducing since I heard is a lot more painful. But the gynae told me there will be a risk of baby's shoulder being wide and if I wait until after week 38 it will be hard for baby to come out. Can anyone give me advices?

- 2021-08-11Bristles on the brush are soft and you can’t really go wrong with a brand like Pigeon. It lasts and the quality is great. What’s more it comes in cute animal shapes and colours so it encourages baby/toddlers to want to comb their own hair.
- 2021-08-11It’s a little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Wooden brushes have a certain feeling when you comb baby’s hair so this is great if you feel like splurging

Personally I feel that it’s important to come to a consensus with your partner on what kind of parenting style the both of you would like to have for your child. If there’s different thoughts on the same issue it could lead to frequent quarrels with your other half. Which is bad for the relationship. So for me I’m in charge of doing most of the decisions and coaching my girl on academic matters.

- 2021-08-12Dear mommies, seeking your wisdom here.
My wife was only feeling nausea initially before week 10, and in recent few days she has increased nausea, headache, and started vomitting. Few days back there is red spot appearing on face and neck area, but had disappeared since yesterday.
We are actually looking forward to Trimester 2, but the increased morning sickness symptoms is making her feel depressed and I am not sure why this happened: shouldnt the symptom taper off?
- 2021-08-12I had a miscarriage (11 weeks) and did a D&C 4 weeks ago.
Started lactating and immediately started suppressing it. Have not gotten first menses yet.

I know my hcg levels haven't dropped from the miscarriage. But if the ovulation test came back positive, does it mean I am ovulating? Also having egg white like mucusy discharge 😊

- 2021-08-13Any mummy out there experience before , as I don’t have any symptoms anymore isit normal ?
- 2021-08-13Here i’ll share my experience and few learning in case you are at high risk for preeclampsia.
This is not a scary post. And if you still fear reading what might go wrong during your pregnancy, you can skip it.
So i was diagnosed as high risk preeclampsia. And was put on Baby asprin 150gm per day. But i had 2 incidents of bleeding due to low lying placenta so i was advised to stop taking aspirin.
All continued to go smooth since then. My BP reading was always within range. Urine test results also came up fine. On my scheduled. Week 28 appointment the ultrasound showed my placenta has also moved up and no more low lying.
On Saturday night, while watching Netflix my gut feeling asked me to check my BP for no reason. When checked my BP was 177/100. My husband said it seems machine is wrong cz you are not having any other symptoms. I listened to him, and slept. But woke up again to test 1 more time. This time it was 180/100. I knew something wasn’t right cz i am someone whose BP is always on lower side (110/60). I called delivery suite of my hospital and told them about my only symptom high BP. They asked to come to get it checked professionally.
Reached hospital, BP came 159/80. They did urine test. And it showed protein in it. They took more sample to send to lab only to find out it was 4gms.
While it was all unfolding my gynae came on her off day to see me, and said we might have to deliver in next 10-12 days. Then within 30 mins, she said that i might have to deliver 2-3 days, by 11am she told me i’ll be delivering at 3pm.
My baby’s activity was dropping and hence she took that decision.
At 2:48PM Sunday my baby was delivered. Weighing approximately 2.5lbs, 1.14kgs.
He’s in NICU now and doing ok. He’s expected to be there for 6-8 weeks there. We are taking 1 day at a time, and i know he’ll be fine as he’s with one of the best neonatal team.
My learning from this :
1. Always trust your instinct when it comes to your pregnancy and baby.
2. Check your BP daily if you are high risk for preeclampsia, no matter you are taking aspirin or not.
3. Things may not go as planned for you but eventually you will accept it. And you learn that things could have gone even worse.
4. After delivery the BP will stay up upto 6weeks (only with preeclampsia). So be mentally prepared for that.
5. Baby blues are real no matter how strong you are, and how supportive your spouse or family is.
I was hoping to deliver my baby in Oct but god had different plans. I have an August baby now. He’s strong and will come out stronger from this.
- 2021-08-13Did anyone also felt like their symptoms improved at 11 weeks? Just concerned about my HCG levels. I’m still smell averse to oily cooking and stuff, but it doesn’t make me nauseous now. Still have sore nipples but seems like breast not as swollen as before. Most importantly I don’t feel pregnant (back aches disappeared, no cramps) so just a bit worried whether baby is doing well or not.
- 2021-08-13Suddenly back and abdominal pain after walking / standing for a period of time isit bad for the baby or the mummy? Is this normal? 🤔#firstbaby
- 2021-08-13I meet my MIL once every few weeks and every single time she will snide or make unpleasant remarks about my choices and my pregnancy changes.
She recently asked about my weight gained and laughed, saying that she and her daughter didn’t gain so much during their own pregnancies. 😞 I told her that my gynae has no issue with my weight gain.
So far she also made noise about me doing amnio, taking covid vaccine and wanting to take epidural during delivery. She has never once asked about my choice and just lectures about what she thinks is right.
My husband is apologetic and tries to mediate in front of her but it still affects me.
I’m learning to cope with her unnecessary comments, takes a few days to get over each time but i know it’s just going to be more to come, especially after I deliver. She has no filter and won’t change even after we feedback to her. Any tips on how to manage/cope better? #advicepls
- 2021-08-13Hi mummies, currently im 21 week plus pregnant and i decided to take my vaccine .Im a kkh patient under subsidise clinic. Everytime when i went to my monthly check up appt, dr will asked if i want to get my vaccine done but i keep rejecting it coz i wasnt feel confident to take it. But after weighing the pros and cons and also my due date gonna be in 4 mnths plus time. I decided to take it. So i called kkh to clarify, do i have to consult dr b4 vaccine. She say not need as long as im already after my first trimester. She also mention so far those pregnant woman under kkh who took their vaccine directly to cc had no issue. Do any mummies here already done their vaccine at any cc directly ? Do u guys need to provide any clearance form or anything? I asked the staff, she say not need. - 2021-08-13Did u do FTS, NIPT or Both?
What were your considerations?
I heard some mummies told me about high risks in FTS and had to do NIPT thereafter.
When i went for counselling at KKH, i end up choosing both tests because:
1) FTS checks for structural defects which NIPT didnt
2) Possible risks of no results for NIPT
3) Missing timeline in event of point 2
4) High risk pregnancy due to age above 35 and twins

- 2021-08-13The trigger of oil smell that stays in the house makes me vomit & sick all day.
I finally couldn’t take it & moved back to my mother’s place.
It’s only been 2 days and I haven’t vomit a single time and I felt free & happier but my husband isn’t happy about it.
He doesn’t want to stay with me at my mother’s place for 1-2 days a week because he prefers his own room.
But if I go back to that house, I will be trapped in the room all day and having the trigger smell round the clock.
What should I do?
I hate this pregnancy 😭

- 2021-08-14Any mama know how to remove LO from comfort latching? LO is 7m old and she need to suck on my nipples to sleep peacefully, whenever I try to remove she will suck harder to stop me from removing it. Not only during afternoon naps but also at night. And when she finally remove herself from my nipple it only takes her 15-20mins to find my nipple again while still sleeping if she can’t, she would be awaken. Arghhhhhh in this case I can’t get anything done in the house any mamas have any advice? Btw she’s not sleep trained. So she do not have the skill of soothing herself back to sleep. And no she rejected the pacifier or soothies.

- 2021-08-14Hey fellow mamas,
Being in the midst of a pandemic, and being encouraged by WHO, CDC and our MOH to take the vaccine, we can’t avoid this hot topic can we. Whether we’re in the middle of our pregnancy or breastfeeding journey, the aching and nagging question that we face (since Pfizer and Moderna have been made more readily available) -
To vax or not to vax?
I’m not going to flood this post with readings from creditable sources as I’m sure many of you have done your due diligence. I respect parents a lot because of the readings they plough through (despite already busy schedules) and the reviews they scour, advice they sought just to make the best decision for themselves and their families. I felt I had to write this post because, well, it’s been my mind for a while and hopefully it will resonate with some of you out there.
I’ve always believed there’s always a negative to a positive - I’m sure many of you have already laid your hands on some articles which have proven that the vaccine isn’t for everyone and that there certainly are side effects. There’s also this struggle about being a socially responsible citizen - I mean, I’m sure no one wants to be part of the problem and everyone wants to put this damn virus to rest - the sooner the better.
I think there’s a need for affirmations, for support - to tell our mamas (and perhaps partners alike) that whatever their choice is, it’s okay because it’s their decision. No one else has to be okay with it but you. You are htrying to do right by your family and as long as you do what your gut tells you, you can sleep better at night and be at peace with yourself which is what I’ve ever wished for anyone.
So I’m gonna be bold and, I’m speaking to all the parents out there who are trying to do right by their children and make a decision - you do YOU. Whatever works and makes you feel good. Because at the end of the day, the decision is yours to make. As long as you’ve been informed, weighed all your options. , and you are not making a choice out of coercion, you’re doing well and you’re being an awesome individual and parent.
Happy weekend everyone!

- 2021-08-14Hi is it normal to have whitish discharge during very early pregnancy? Is it because of estrogen and progesterone?
- 2021-08-14My in-laws made so much comments on baby when we first visited. Instead of fawning over their grandchild, or asking how are we coping with a newborn, or checking how is my recovery, they just freely commented on baby in front of baby and us things like "the skin so dark", "looks like tomboy", "so skinny", "hair so little" etc.
As a new mum, their unnecessary and unkind remarks on my precious baby made me upset and I seriously fear more on the next visits.
Any good advice on how we can politely let them know we do mind such comments? I love my baby deeply, I feel defensive to hear these yet helpless because I dunno how to react.
*No, ignoring their words is not helpful advice, a real solution is preferred, otherwise this will just be a continuous cycle and worsen my anxiety and stress level each time we visit them*
*Update: Many have advised to ignore. We did that, and just as I have expected, these comments continued every time we meet. 🙄
- 2021-08-14This is a non-greasy formula and it helped me go into a relaxed state of mind after a full day of work. I also used it on the kids on their chests and it helps them sleep. Didn’t irritate our eczema-prone skins so that’s a plus! Even the packaging is soooo cute!
- 2021-08-14Hi
I had upper stomach cramps and mild cramps all over the circumference of my belly. It lasted quite long from night before to next day afternoon. My belly feels tight too.
The pain is bearable but just wondering if this is common for 3rd trimester. I’m in my 31st week.
Can braxton hicks happen all around the belly?

- 2021-08-14With the pandemic around for 2 years. How have you been coping with it together with your little one?
Do you still bring them out as frequent?
How do you keep them active and exposed to the nature/new things?
To be very honest, due to the pandemic I try not to bring my girl out as much. Also because there are many restrictions that’s ever changing and some locations are hard to book. 😅

- 2021-08-14Currently week 6 and have yet to meet gynae but have met GP, waiting for ultrasound scan in 5 days. However, been getting brown spotting for the past 5 days. The 6th day, saw a small red blood clot with no cramps. When to check to check test kit, still +ve. In the late evening, after much laughter, another 1 liner of red blood was seen in my panty liner. Again, no cramps. Any idea if things are well?
