I delivered my baby in KKH. I still remembered the day I found I had blood on my pants (not much) but felt no contractions. then we went to KKH. The nurse gave me baby monitor and said monitoring for one hour and then another doctor came in and checked my uterus, saying almost 2 fingers wide opening. After one hour, they moved me to delivering room and said I need to inject Oxytocin. Until that time, I still didn't have contraction.
My friend has same situation as mine. Found blood first, even she felt contractions not frequently. But when she went to KKH, the doctors asked to go back home until she has stronger contractions.
My question is why different treatment to the same conditions?

- 2021-05-31Hello , is 10 month old baby eat pineapple?
- 2021-05-31Baby girl is 4.5 months old and struggles to sleep unless held (breastfed to nap) or in a carrier (patting and gentle rocking).
She falls asleep pretty quickly but I struggle to put her down on the bed (even after waiting for 10minutes) - she wakes up immediately in shock! This only happens during nap time, she doesn’t struggle with bedtime at night at all!
Before her growth spurt I’ve actually managed to pat her to nap on the bed / transfer from arms to bed about 5 times in total.
Is this just a phase? Or will I end up having to carry her to sleep each time!?
Desperate for tips and real life experience!
Ps... I’m firmly against the cry it out method
Sincerely,
A tired mom whose feet and back ache from carrying a heavy baby!

- 2021-05-31Our multi task force say that Covid-19 vaccine are safe for pregnant ladies (regardless of which trimester). I am quite skeptical on this, do they have a study on this vaccine that is completely safe for pregnant ladies? Can we trust? Any pregnant mummies has already taken your Covid shots during your pregnancy?🤔 My baby is going to due on September, I am thinking of getting the vaccine after my confinement which will be on October. I am more worried that the vaccine will do more harm to my unborn baby.

- 2021-05-31Had a breeze 1st time scan today at KKH. Baby’s growing and healthy size at 5.7weeks. The problem arises when I went for a follow-up consultation with the Doc. As FTM, I don’t really know what should I do and what supplements do I need or how is the timeline from now to delivery.
Doc was nice but very unclear. He didn’t give me any supplements even tho he mentioned about multi-vitamins (I was assuming he’s gonna prescribed me Vitamin D or sth). Should I be worried?
My next scan will be on 12 July. By then I’ll be entering 2nd trimester. Do I not need to do anything? Except taking the existing folic acid and duspaston that was already prescribed to me?
Also, like when and where can I apply for medisave and maternity insurance?

- 2021-05-31My 18 month old refuses to drink milk (he can literally go 1 whole day without milk) and he only drinks milk in my helper’s room.
My baby naps in my helper’s room almost everyday and I understand that he probably thinks it routine, however it’s so strange that he can go one whole day without it milk if he is unable to drink in that room.
Can anyone advise me how to change his milk drinking habits??
I’ve tried offering it in a cup/with straw/bottle all to no avail.
My son eats solids really well tho but I understand that milk still has to be drunk as it is the main source of calcium.
I just really want to break this bad habit of his and I don’t know how. I’ve tried letting him cry before bed for 1.5hrs but he still doesn’t want the milk.
Also, it’s not the milk issue cos he drinks fine in my helper’s room.
I’m so confused can anyone help

My 1st and 2nd kids - now 6 and 3 - were fed by breast milk totally in first 6 months and continued to drink breast milk till 2 years old. Now I’m having my 3rd baby and also totally breastfeeding.
To boost up your milk supply after giving birth is not straightforward and need a lot of effort.
My 1st kid was easy for me to get good milk supply. After she was born, her paediatric asked me to let her latch on directly immediately after the nurse cleaned up her. After 30 minutes, while waiting my newborn showering, my breasts were full and when you try to express manually will have clear liquid come out. When she latched again after back from showering, my nipples were super painful and swollen, but I try to let her latch as much as she wanted. First few days after back from hospital, I try to pump most of the time right after I breastfed my baby. The amount of milk that I pumped not much, sometimes it was only 10ml but I still continue with that practice. After 7 days I could collect 90ml and after 15 days I could get 150ml.
There was 1 thing that I never do is pumping at night. It must be super exhausted. So that in the morning, I could get 250ml to 300ml after feeding the baby.
When I was back to work, I woke up early fed baby and pumped milk before I went to work. My work was very busy so I only could pump during my lunch and before I going home.
I keep this practice for my 2nd and now my 3rd newborn and it still works well. My kids are in good health and seldom sick.
Breastfeeding is tiring journeys but I feel happy that I’ve done my best for my dear children.

- 2021-06-01Its been a week since I am waiting for my menses to come. Because I know for myself that usually I am irregular cycle. But last week I took PT and it came positive. I used to buy many different brand and it all came positive. But before i took PT. I got discharge like not that heavy its like going to be menses. I change my panty liner so thought my menses will come. Then later on the next day. It surprises me i dont see any blood comes out. Then i did was try to do exercise then it didnt happen. Thats the time I took PT and it came positive. The next day i took again positive. I went to see doctor, doctor said He cant find gestational sac he only see thick lining. He said its early pregnancy or pregnancy loss. I feel hopeless. :(
- 2021-06-01Hi Mommies,
I had heavy bleeding with a big clot 3 days ago and was brought to hospital. I am 12 weeks 3 days pregnant.
When scan by doctor, baby still have heart beat, doctor mentioned it is threatened miscarriage. He asked me to monitor for one week, and go for scan again.
Still having slight bleeding now.
Any mommy experience like this before?
And will baby be ok? :( so worried now, as I have experienced 2 misscarriage before
- 2021-06-01A couple of questions to ask. I’ve gotten a positive on the pregnancy test kit.
Where do I visit to confirm the pregnancy via blood test? Does polyclinic do a blood test? Since it’s a bit pointless to do another urine test there if I’ve already done it at home?
When should I start visiting a Gynae? Or visit a gynae as a 2in1 to confirm pregnancy through scan as well as for pregnancy advice?
Thanks in advance! First time mummy here

- 2021-06-01This was recommended by my daughter's school as she has a weak grip. It's expensive for a pencil and you still have to buy refills. But although my daughter looks awkward when she's holding it, it seems to work and her handwriting is improving and not as spidery as it was. You need to be careful not to lose the sharpener as it has a hole specifically for the size of the lead.

- 2021-06-01My 3 month old is getting to the point where he can hold things and likes noises, so we purchased these on a whim. While he’s not yet interested in the tambourine, the maracas seem to do the trick! They make the right amount of noise, are sturdy in the middle and have a soft end to ensure no accidental bonking. They are well made and should be lots of fun for months to come!

- 2021-06-01This lotion is amazing. I heard there isn't really much you can do to combat stretch marks - you are either genetically prone to them or not. I have stretch marks from prior weight gain/loss so when I got pregnant I assumed my stomach would be covered. I used this every single day and didn't get a single stretch mark until the last week I was pregnant.
- 2021-06-01They magnify quite adequately for my purposes (and definitely for the price), and could probably even be used for second grade science.
- 2021-06-01My wife used these in her classroom with her Kindergarten students. She said they were the perfect size for their little hands. They also worked very well for them to observe the coins they were looking at. The kids liked them so much that she let them keep the magnifying glasses. But there were so many in the bag that she still has more for next year's class. She would definitely recommend these for elementary aged students.
- 2021-06-01Bought for my toddler (2.5 years old). It is very easy to use and works just as described. Seems to be a good value for the price so far. Very thin and lightweight so will be easy to throw in the diaper bag so she can be occupied while we are away from home also.
- 2021-06-01We bought this for our daughter to scribble and practice writing letters. It's very light weight and everything works as expected. The locking feature is nice, but we don't use it often since she just draws and erases constantly. Because it's so thin, I'm a little worried about it breaking in the future, but so far it has held up very well. The screen isn't as bright as some others I've seen and the writing is not multi-colored, so if you want multi-colored writing, look elsewhere. Otherwise, for the price, I can definitely recommend this.

It isnt an ectopic pregnancy but gynae says its too early to tell if I'm miscarriaging. We could see the sac but not the baby as its too early. My bleeding stopped already. Will be going for another scan in another week. Wish me luck.

- 2021-06-02Hello! Has anyone switched your child infant care centre after they are old enough for preschool/childcare (ie 18 months old)?

And how much is the cost right now? And what are the things I need to ask while interviewing them?

- 2021-06-02Hi, FTM here and was wondering which handsfree breast pump should I buy?
- 2021-06-02Hi mummies. Anyone has the same problem as me? What did you do to resolve this?
My 3 mth old is mix feed. I nurse him first before I give him fm. When my period comes, my supply dipped and so I fed him with fm and only nurse him once or twice a day. He has been refusing to nurse since then and instead will clamp & pull my nipple before pushing my breast away. I kept a milk stash for him but he's refusing it too. I pump for future use to put in his solids when he can start to eat. My breasts are also very soft and my right side only yields 5-10ml. So sad. I want to nurse him as long as I can, probably till 1 yrs old. Appreciate any kinds of advice as long as my LO will start nursing again. TIA!

- 2021-06-03This is my second pregnancy and it's very very tiring to take care of a toddler which is 16 months old and having nausea all day round. I am also having frequent headaches and have to resort to eating paracetamol. Feeling ultra guilty after eating since I know I am supposed to be avoiding medication at all during first trimester. Other natural methods don't help in resolving the headache and I am really feeling so guilty and depressed. I am only at my ninth week and still got at least three weeks before the nausea will subside. I can stand vomiting all day but I can't stand getting headaches. #pleasehelp

- 2021-06-03Hi mummies out there
I am 6 wks gestation. Tmrw will be my first appt with the gynae. I have very strong addiction to coffee prior to this pregnancy. Like at least two cups a day. But ever since I got to know I am pregnant two weeks back, I cut down to every other day one cup or just everyday one cup. However I tried weaning down even further, last two days I didn’t had any coffee at all. Now I am experiencing a severe headache.
Bought a cup and barely drink it cos this morning my morning sickness is bad despite ginger pills. Now the milk in the coffee makes me feel like puking and my headache is not resolving.
Anyone can advise me on what should I do next?

- 2021-06-04Hi mummies,2 weeks ago I started having itch rashes/hives (red patchy bumps) around my belly and breasts. Gynae (didnt really examine my rashes) told me that it might be heat rashes, or due to stretching of my skin or GD. Gynae just prescribe me Combiderm cream which took the rashes about 2 weeks to go away. This week the the rashes/hives started on my arms, back and belly again...it is crazily itch and have been affecting my sleep...is this Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP) rash that I am experiencing? I am week 27, last week of my 2nd trimester..
- 2021-06-05Hi mummies. #1stimemom here.
I have a clingy 17m girl, in 2 months time. She will be entering PG. Can anyone share if u have the same experience? And will it actually scares your child to the extend of being traumatised/ having nightmare due to fear of abandoned by mum? As much as I know she will cry during the start, how can I observe things are coping well for her or what should I take note of? #pleasehelp #advicepls

- 2021-06-05My infant always have these rashes on both his ears and normally will spread a bit on his face and the back of his neck. Sometimes it looks like boils and have watery discharge. Poor thing, he will always try to scratch the itch and especially at night. I had no choice but to swaddle him for a more comfortable sleep.
At first PD diagnosed as eczema & prescribed QV cream which only makes it worse, they became super dry and very flaky. Then we went for his allergy test and he is free from eczema and food allergy (cow's milk & egg, he's a mix feed baby). Prescribed a mild steroid cream and a big bottle of antiseptic solution. I've yet to use both as I'm currently using a moisturiser from Korea on him which I got as a sample here from TAP.
I am not sure if the weather plays a part. It's been very warm these days and I make sure to always switch on the fan or the A/C. Any of you mummies also experience the same? Please let me know what you did.
- 2021-06-05Well, due to covid cantt buy a whole cake for my 3yo boy to celebrate in sch, so I thought of buying individually sliced swiss roll party box from polar. But when i just casually informing my MIL that will buy that for him to share with his friends and teachers, idea immediately got shot down. She said "Swissroll so cheapo, might as well dont buy!" She wants me to get those nice looking cupcakes which is not cheap yo. and its so hard to find halal ones.
My idea was to let the kids have fun, enjoy a slice of cake, let my boy have some birthday feel. but that happy thoughts got destroyed as she said swiss roll is cheapo... 😓😓😓
So im not sure if I should get it now. 😥
She always have high expectations for birthday celebrations. When all i want my kids to have was a simple celebration, nothing much exaggerated. I remember during his 1st month and 1yo birthday, MIL got soooo involved. Want to be nicenice, looks grand. did a lot of things diy a lot of things and engaged in the thematic deco to set up etc. Make me feel like I didnt do much for my boy...
Then when i mention swiss roll for his sch 3yo, she mentioned, "1month 1yo do so nice then 3yo swiss roll??? later he will feel different". whos the one that set so high standards for him in the first place. my gosh.. Not like we are not celebrating at home... why comment until lidat.
PS: just want to rant cuz i dont have the chance to. need to destress. thanks for listening. Sucks to have a mom like me.
