2021-03-29My MIL will randomly touch my bump without asking/warning e.g. in the lift or at her place. It will startle me a little because I am not exactly a physical touch person (like I don't hug my parents/PIL) but she seems to think that it's okay? Is it normal for me not to feel okay? Should I get my hub to talk to her? I mean if there's baby movement that can be felt from outside, I would think I will "invite" them to feel. but I'm only in second tri now and not feel much movement also. Like maybe if want to touch, is it too much of me to have her ask for permission first? I won't say no and will still cringe a little but at least I'm prepared?

2021-03-29Just feeling bit weird when I hear own sister, my girl friends and female colleagues sharing that how their PIL especially MIL will cook or got them some tonic foods or taking good care of them (even not staying together) when they were pregnant. I am currently going 21 weeks preg but till today my in-law didn’t get anything for me. Even when my family asked, they found disappointed why is my in-law behaving so. As if I mean nothing to my in-law family. My FIL is those listen to wife with no much of opinion and my MIL is usually e calling e shots type and don’t cook at home (I never seen her cook at all). I felt that she’s more into her son and DIL is just someone else in e family. As before our wedding I get to know she bought some tonic drinks for my hubby and gave him a angpao which I doesn’t have either. My hubby is quite protective towards his mum and he felt that they are modern family (somehow angmo style la) so all these are not important. Which I can never talk to him about these or say about his family otherwise we would ended up quarrelling. I do feel emo and angry whenever I thought of this. Which really also feeling disappointed. Hope they are behaving like this not because I’m carrying a baby girl 👧🏻 (my MIL wanted a grandson during reveal party). But my baby is their first and is their grandchild no matter what! 😭 (Update - 28 October 2022) Truth is, my MIL really can’t be bothered and only cares for her son. She told my hubby to get a helper if we can’t cope ourselves weeks before I delivered my girl (we didn’t even asked her to help lol). Then she refused to visit us after our girl born and even late for my girl 1 year old birthday party. She got NOTHING but at least a $50 angpao shared with my FIL for her very first grandchild just FYI. No gold or whatever if we’re talking about Chinese tradition. I’m not eyeing for anything from her, just feeling why I will such MIL treating me and my daughter like a known strangers. So cold hearted. 😣 #ParentsInLaw

2021-03-29#advicepls Hi there. I have recently experienced preterm premature rupture of membranes at 18 weeks + 5 days last year in December. Cause is unknown. Currently still healing from the loss and slightly worried for the next try, but would like to know if anyone experienced the same. Hubby and I would like to consider trying for second pregnancy in a few months and would like to know if there any additional precautions we should take for the next one? My gynae shared that he will do a cervical cerclage at 12-14 weeks of next pregnancy. Anyone has experience with this procedure and any successful full term deliveries after? 2021-03-30I had csect 3 months ago but I have been having tailbone pain. It was bad in the first month, I cldn't sit for long. My doc told me to do some exercises and it will go away. But I'm still having this pain now. It gets hard esp during breastfeeding. Wonder if anyone felt such tailbone pain before? My backache is also quite bad. 2021-03-31Hi all, my 2nd born is almost 7 months. and today i found out faint positive lines on the preg test. i missed my period this mth thinking my u stable hormones since i have pcos. my 1st born is 7 yrs old & when i had my 2nd born, i was so happy. when born, somehow i did fall into post natal depression cos of the age gap & traumatic labour. my husb and i used condom since gynae do not recommend pill or iud due to my weight and some medical condition. i also try to check on my ovulation days but due to hormones it can be all over. i havent tell my husband about the test yet. i feel like crying cos the age gap is near. any mummies face this? my husband works 24hrs then 2 days off so usually when he works, im on my own. i feel so stress up

For myself, I find that rather than creating tensions over different things when they are looking after my kid, I send my kid to ifc. Cos my parents or in laws are not open to feedback and they will say things like "oh this is how you were raised etc." Anyone in the same boat as me?

2021-03-31Hi mummies , my inlaw house is infested with bedbugs and insects and due to poor mantaince of the house as well as circulation. Everybody in the house knows about it. I don't even know how do they live with it in the house .. Even my husband , but they are not like taking action about it. I feel this is a serious matter as back then I had this problem at my mum place but thankfully all cleared up . Bedbug suck human blood and is very hard to kill and multiple very fast . 2021-03-31hi mummies i’m having shingles now and i’m prescribed acyclovir by the doc. doc said to pump and dump however i’ve read up on the meds and there isn’t any need to as it’s safe for breastfeeding. the shingles is at my hand however baby has stop latching so i only express now, do i still have to dump? i do not have the luxury of isolating myself and letting others take care of my baby too, his 5mths but i wear long sleeves incase the blister pops

The childcare centre is complaining about his cough and advising us to keep him at home, but we are also burning our leaves (like no tomorrow) to take care of him at home. 2021-04-01Hi mummies, i want to know if any of you do pump even when you are breastfeeding? My son is 2 months old and he feeds on demand. So sometimes he will go for an hr, 2 hrs, sometimes every 30 mins. Depending on him. He also nurses for comfort or before he goes to sleep. So you see, i dont have the time to pump esp when he feeds every hr or 30 mins or sometimes wants to nurse before he naps during the daytime. And ive read some where that if the baby manages to empty the breast, theres no need to pump. So here's what i want to know. If any of the mummies here does BF and pump or if there's any of you just BF and dont pump? I wish to BF him till he's 2 or longer and im afraid that if i dont pump, my milk will decrease because of the lack of stimulation or whatever. I also read that "light" breast does not mean empty. Its just your body are accustom to your baby needs and is now adjusted to your baby's timing. And for as long as your baby still suckle, you are still making milk. Can anyone explain or share your BF journey with me. I couldnt BF for long with my #1 because my working hrs was irregular and it took a toll on me and since im a sahm now im looking forward for a longer BF journey.

2021-04-02Hi need help and advice. My dd just turned 2 and she has been resisting bedtime for a few months and its like war putting her for bed time not to mention keeping it with the routine. I've tried sleeping balms, quiet and cooling environment and even offering warm milk. Later on , I found out my mother in law pm-ed my hubby to ask him “you guess how expensive the necklace is?”. I got upset because we did not ask them to buy anything for the twins and felt that the question was unnecessary (especially if it is a gift and you should bless willing) but my husband felt that it was ok for us to know to price. So I asked “why is there a need to pm you if that’s the case and why not just say in the groupchat?”. I just don’t understand why there’s a need for them to boast about the price of the gift. As i will be returning to work after my ML, i am not sure to put my bb in ifc or ask the helper to look after. The helper has no experience in bb care, and i have been training her for the past 2 weeks, yet, she is not proactive and she is impatient and she got attitude problem. Happy do, not happy, don't do and she will talk back if she not happy. Her contract is ending in april next year and we have no intention to renew her either. If you were me, what would u do? Thxs.
