2020-02-03I am unable to sleep for the whole night and feel so depressing and keep crying. I am in my 16weeks and have been on progestrone and just finished the medication and i am unable to sleep at all. Any mummies out there experience the same? What am i supposed to do? Is this depression? Looking for advice.

2020-02-03Just to share my experience with all mother's delivering at KKH or any other hospital, I delivered via c sect at KKH. I stayed at A1 ward for four days and the nurses there were nice generally but advocated latching and breastfeeding asap. Just to advise all mothers that if your breast milk hasn't come in just top up with formula because of insistence to breast feed exclusively, my baby was dehydrated and had uric crystals in his urine so don't feel guilty about having to rely on formula first but definitely try to get baby to latch on. That's my personal advice!

2020-02-04I was tested with gestational diabetes during pregnancy and ever since then, I was under strict control diet with exercise throughout my entire pregnancy. No medication or insulin was prescribed to me and I had my blood sugar monitored on a daily basis. However, I've just given birth 2 weeks ago and initially my fasting blood sugar was 4mmol before the first meal of the day (for the first few days after birth), then it kinda jumped to 5.8mmol today for fasting result and just had my confinement meal 3hours ago (brown rice, veggies & salmon fish with gravy) and it was 7.2mmol. Couldn't exercise as I just had a c-sect. My next Ogtt test is scheduled on end of Feb this month. Is it normal for blood sugar to not go down immediately after birth? How long does it usually goes down? I delivered my baby at TMC and surprisingly they did not monitor my blood sugar, not even a single test was taken during my entire stay there despite that they were aware of my condition.

2020-02-04Just went for my first scan today at NUH! Number of weeks counted by the doctor from polyclinic previously was 12 weeks as of today based on my last menstrual cycle. 2020-02-04Recently my 3weeks baby got admitted due to vomiting of milk & constipation for 5days. MIL blame me for eating rubbish, saying that my confinement meals have 'fried' items, its unhealthy. I shouldn't breast feed baby. It's because of what I eat that causes baby to be constipated. I was so upset. I run away from home back to my mother's place. During my first week of confinement, before my milk supply came in, she say that I got no supply unlike her younger days, she got so much milk. She cook confinement meals for me (first week) but I don't like her cooking , she not happy. Is it wrong for me to run away from home?

I am going back work soon and leaving my helper at home only with lo. Upon thinking of this, i am super sad already. I'm super scared that lo will want helper in future over me. She is turning 3 months next month and the following months are crucial as they start to recognise people. I think i will cry if she wants helper to carry and comfort her and not me. I definitely will try to spend more time with her when i knock off from work and on weekends (my job is 5 work days) but i would like to hear from fellow mommies on how you manage and takecare of lo so your lo will still look for you and not prefer you over helper or nanny. I think i will have separation anxiety when i go back work :( Thanks!

Rushed to hospital, doctor found no physical injuries and didn’t recommend any scans due to high radiation. Asked to observe for 48 hours. Anyone with similar experience? I’m so worried. Does it mean she’s ok if there’s no vomiting or what in 48 hours? Will it affect her brain development in the future? I’m feeling so worried and bad.

There are times where we miss that window (e.g sleepy during feeding but got awaken from burping. Or got woken up in the middle of the nap or sleep). He is clearly wanting to continue to sleep yet even after I carry him in my arms, walk around the house, rock him and "shhh" him, he is still refusing to sleep. The alternate is a cranky, fussy baby. 2020-02-07I was told by the nurse where I delivered my baby at that 27-28 degree is the ideal temperature for an air-conditioned room for baby. So when I got home, I changed our bedroom Temperature to 27 degree and my newborn keeps waking up or feel cranky. She's placed directly below the aircon thus there's no cold air blowing at her as we tilted the flap upwards towards us instead (making sure she's not too cold). I also realized that she prefers to sleep at the living hall with my ceiling fan switched on. Is the aircon set up 27 degree to warm for her? Is it OK if I set it to at least 24-25 degree instead? Will it be too cold & dry for the baby?
