2020-12-07I planned to work but I have no one to help out. Many employers didn’t want to hire me upon hearing no one can help me to send my child to school or fetch child from school on dot daily. They were also very concerned that I can’t reach workplace on time each day as they met such working mums previously which eventually left the jobs or were asked to resign nicely. Therefore I went to check with some friends and they commented it’s very unlikely to send both child to childcare and have enough travel duration to report for work on time if there’s no help around. And the vice versa when after school fetching issue. I also agreed on this unless the working parents have engaged a helper or grandparents to help send the child to school and from school back home. If not, I really doubt there’s enough time to do so. For those who really make it without any helping hands, pls advise what methods you use so u can reach office on time on morning and reach school on dot after work in the evening. Thank you for your precious feedbacks & advices in advance!

2020-12-07So my nesting instinct came but instead of clearing and decluttering stuff to make way for my upcoming baby, I decluttered my kitchen. Spent a good 4 hrs, cleaning, scrubbing, throwing away unwanted stuff, sweeping & then mopped the floor. Throughout the 4 hrs, I kept having braxton hicks. My stomach felt really hard, uncomfortable and a bit painful but bearable. Been having BH since 20 weeks. Now my back is also aching very badly from the decluttering. I'm a few days shy to 27 weeks, 3rd trimester. No bleeding nothing and baby is actually actively moving. Should I see a dr or is this normal? My next appointment is in 2 weeks time.

2020-12-07Hi mummies. I'm quite confused about whether I should start taking my Obimin, fish oil and Calcium carbonate meds now, which the pharmacist advised me to start taking in 2nd trim. If based on my LMP, I'm 12 weeks 2 days today. But according to my last ultrasound scan 2 weeks, my baby grew faster then expected so the gynae adjusted my weeks, and that makes me 13 weeks today. I'm still left with about 8 days of folic acid. Should I cont finish the folic acid or start taking the 2nd trim medication now? I heard the Obimin, fish oil and Calcium are very impt.
2020-12-07We've just had our 20 week detailed scan. We are 20 wks 3 days today. Found out we're carrying a baby boy! (My elder daughter's wish come true!) We were also informed that there was echogenic bowel found during the scan and this carry certain risks that needs to be investigated further. We have been recommended to take the harmony test, to confirm the low risk that baby does not have Down Syndrome, or other possible chromosomal defects. We are trying to be positive because our last (2nd) preg was terminated at 21wks 3 days in March this year because she had Down Syndrome and other severe physical defects. Has anyone else had echogenic bowel found in their 20 week scan? Can you share your experiences?

2020-12-07Hi Mummies, this is my second pregnancy. Currently slightly less than 7 weeks. For the past 3 days I had aching gums. I lost sleep. Seen the GP and was given Panadol and antibiotics. Not sure if it’s actually common for Mummies to have this pain. The gums will swell more at night.

2020-12-07I have never experience contractions before labour and it’s my 2nd pregnancy. I only can say at times i have cramps on and off and currently having some pelvic pain which i know I’m already dilated due to my recent visit to delivery suite. But to know if I’m having one even if it’s not very intense . My first born i only feel contractions when I’m in labour and after getting induced .

2020-12-07Since her fever over the last weekend from her 1YO vaccination, my girl will suddenly wake up & sit up crying hysterically from her night sleep and only stops when we bring her over to sleep on our bed. Once she’s asleep for us to transfer her back to the cot, she’ll go hysterical again. The kind of cries is like she’s hurt badly or something. It’s so disturbing. 2020-12-07My 9 months old baby had fever 3 days ago untill now has not yet settle down. Went to clinic and docter given Bifen. Afterall docter advise in 2 days time if fever still high proceed to KKH. I also did sponge but seems doesnt work. Has i experience baby with high fever easily to get fits. Reason why I’m asking is because my husband is currently in prison, and I only have his photocopied birthcert and ori passport. I’ve been calling KKH birth registration dept but no avail. TIA !
2020-12-08At 28 weeks, my baby was 1.1kg. At 31 weeks 6 days (almost 32 weeks), my baby is 1.39kg (not even 1.4kg). My gynae says he is a healthy size because he is putting on weight, but i read online that ur baby should be 1.7kg at 32 weeks. Any idea if mine is too small? 2020-12-08Hi My son is 23mo. When he is having tantrums sometimes out of a sudden until we really don't know what he want. There are times when he want milk. We gave it to him but he will suddenly say i don't want milk/ i don't want mummy etc....So to avoid more tantrums , we leave it aside at the table or near him and say if u want it , u can take yourself. We notice he will cool down abit and den pull himself up and take his own bottle. That's when he calm down ardy. Recently, he was in the bathroom and we shower him. He wanted to play soap we let him a little but after a while its time to leave , he is not cooperating and not very safe to stay long in the toilet. So daddy just took away the soap. He was so upset he cry and scream for 10min We did try to calm him down but it don't works. We also sit one side to wait for him to calm down. But all this make it worse , he is more angry he will beat with hands and say I don't want mummy or daddy whoever he sees. Just ytd night , he will just cry loudly and also say I don't want mummy / daddy. I want milk . I told him ok I will make for u just wait. Everytime I will re-assure him that we love him. Is he not feeling love? How should I react or say when he is saying he don't want mummy/ daddy? How shld i cope with this or why is this happening. 2020-12-08Rushed to Kk's hospital after spotting for 2 days without cramping / pain, spent 6 hours there for all the investigations. Grateful that there is no miscarriage and no ectopic pregnancy. Based on my calculations from last menstrual date, I thought I should be at week 8.. But from the ultrasound, baby is just week 5 day 5, can only see gestational sac but cant see baby.. That will really help, thanks!! 😄 [Unsolicited advice/Unwelcome remarks examples] - "Eh I heard cannot eat/drink XXX leh, if not will blahblahblah" (...when you have done your own research and it is OK to eat/drink XXX) - Speaks of some old wives' tale/superstition and insists that you follow it to be safe - "Eh how come your bump look so big/small at X month? My/my friend's bump wasn't like this leh" - "Wah finally pregnant ah! I waited so long! It's about time la, you both married for so long already, and you're not getting young also!" -- from the elders 😏

2020-12-10My boy started childcare last week and is still crying before entering the school. The in laws are saying that he is so poor thing and say that my husband and I did not bother about my son's feelings and that he does not like to go to school. How can i counter them? They feel that 1.5yo is too young to leave the parents to go to school and too young to pick up any social skills or learn anything because my husband and i grew up fine without going to childcare too. 2020-12-10Has undergone a lot of emotional stress for the past 4 days since I started spotting, rushed to Kk's hospital for twice. Today is day 5 of spotting, notice less spotting after started Duphaston since yesterday. Feeling grateful and thankful to all the kindness and experiences shared here. This is definitely a good support group for mom-to-be like me. Hope that baby will stay healthy and able to see my healthy baby on next Friday during my 1st gynae appt. 2020-12-10Ok I've got this but I'm confused . I've never gotten a positive pregnancy test before . On the 5th morning I took a pregnancy test and I saw it as negative I left it in my cabinet and left. When I came back I saw 2 line. I assumed it was evaporated lines so I ignored it. The next day morning I was tempted to take another one and I got a faint line . And repeatedly I've been getting faint line positive with 3 different brands . And when I checked again on the 8th morning I got a negative. I still do have my breast tender symptoms, cramps and lower back pain. I feel like period symptoms. But what confuses me is is there such thing as false positive ? And what should I do . Someone please help me

2020-12-10Hi mummies, my girl is 4MO. She’s isn’t a fussy baby, the only time she cries is for milk & dirty diapers & time to time when she wants to burp. Recent weeks she stop crying for milk, only when she sucks her hands aggressively than I’ll offer her milk. If I give her milk 3/4hourly she will reject it totally if not is drink 50ML only. 2 days back when she just turn 4MO I let her have apple purée and she love it more than milk. How do I get her to drink more milk because today she only drank a total of 160ML & ate half a tbsp of apple purée. #advicepls

Taking care of baby full-time as first-time mum. With such sensitive, insecure and poor digestive system, is it a good idea to put to infant care now? Shes 3m + coming 4m soon her vision is more clearer and noticed more on her environment , before that i bought her to my mom’s place to overnight she was ok no fussy or anything but now that i bring to my mom’s house or my other relatives house she kept scream crying none stop and when she cry she will look arnd and cry until the whole face super red and her voice changes also ....... and i felt so helpless... & also she doesnt wanna drink milk even for many hours after her last fed. 2020-12-12My LO is 2 month plus and he looked not that chubby compared to other LO and my in laws is making a lot of comment saying I did not feed the LO. I fed every 2.5-3 hours, sometimes when my LO is sleeping I also wake him up to fed. My lo is fully on formula milk. and also no water for lo until 6 months old right? My in laws have been asking me to feed water everyday for 20ml-60ml . I told them that I consulted doctor and doctor suggested no water and yet the in law keep insisting of feeding water worry that next time my lo doesn’t like drinking water and scare he will be too Heaty from drinking formula.
