- 2020-11-30Hi! I've read that painting is not advised during pregnancy. I understand that it refers to house painting and nail manicure/pedicure. But, how about acrylic painting on art canvas? 🎨 Is that okay?
This might sound like a silly question but I'm a #1stimemom in my first trimester, so there are alot that I am unsure about. Appreciate your advice!

- 2020-11-30My baby was born a month earlier than his EDD which was supposedly in mid nov. As such, his adjusted age is 1 month plus now (corrected age is 0.5 month).
Recently he has trouble falling and staying asleep in the daytime. No change to night routine where he will wake every 2 hrs. His total sleeping hours in one day i think is only ard 10 hours. However i unds that newborns are supposed to sleep 14 to 17 hrs.
Would like to hear from other mummies/daddies how much ur newborns are sleeping.. Thanks!

Thanks in advance!
- 2020-11-30Hihi fellow mummies, have been having this permanent blocked nose since wk 18 and it has been disturbing my day to day especially my sleep when im lying down. The best solution i have is this nazal spray nazolin which was prescribed by my GP but the prob is i cant use it consecutively for 7 days. Will need to take a 1-2 days break in btwn. Ive tried other nazal sprays but to no avail and some medication with decongestants i have read are not suitable for pregnancy.
Any mummies faced same prob and have solutions for this?
Thanks in advance!
- 2020-11-30My lo is coming to 10mnths.. most of the times she will able to STTN but its been a week whereby she will wake up in the middle of her sleep and cry hysterically ,
Isit because the room is too hot?
My aircon will be set to auto room temp if its too cold.
I dont think its due to baby is hungry coz one time she woke up right after an hr to 2 hrs of feeding and will cry hysterically.
- 2020-11-30My boy just turned 1 year old. He had been drinking NaN Optipro 2 and now 1, we added in NaN Optipro 3. We mixed them at first to let him get used to the taste. He was drinking fine a few days ago but these few days, he just simply refused to drink. His daily formula milk intake is now less than 400ml. It’s kind of worrying. Any advice from mummies how I should make him drink more milk?

- 2020-11-30Hey mummies. I was wondering if anyone ever been in the same boat as me or I’m just unlucky lol I’m currently 37weeks. And my sex drive haven’t drop at all I would say. But my husband’s somehow kinda low? His reason always he’s scared and worried anything would happen. We haven’t had sex since my 2nd trim. And another strong reason to make me sex driven is, I wanted to dilate faster. But my husband not wanting. Feeling sucks. I mean, I didn’t know men would want to reject? Lol usually they are madly driven! Wondering if any mummies are facing like me? Haha I have been walking around and taking stairs for faster dilation too anyway.

- 2020-11-30I'm feeding expressed bm. We have been struggling for over 2 weeks now with the highest at Day 6 at 325 (treated with double blue therapy at KKH) and then it went down to 190 but now went up to 239. We have tried everything traditional (kayu sepang, tcm flower, air kundur, morn sun) and KKH's blue therapy but the readings are not improving. I'm really worried. Some ppl have been blaming my bm as they ran out of causes.

- 2020-12-01Hi mummies, do you take mc or time off from work for test, checkups?
I went kkh for blood test and scans for baby down syndrome so i told my boss im gg for medical appointment in the morning. Cause i wasn't sure if mc will be given.
Then doc gave me mc so I texted boss I'm on MC 1 day.
He replied to ask if i went medical appointment then not feeling well?
Initially, thought maybe he is asking out of concern but he didnt reply me (no take care or noted) after I told him im not feeling well too.
So am wondering issit i shouldnt have take mc and should go back to work after appts and checks? My next appoint is in dec, dont know what to take. 😔 Abit bothered by his question..
I dont take mc before preg unless really sick and not well.
As of today Still have 7 days mc left and 4 was taken during preg cause unwell/checks.

- 2020-12-02Hi all. Im ard 22 weeks pregnant and have breathlessness most of the time at night. Ive been coping by sleeping propped on multiple pillows bt im wondering, since this made me sleep throughout the night in a sitting up & facing up position, is this safe for baby shld this progress to tri 3? - 2020-12-02I am currently a subsidised patient at KKH. But was told that during delivery, it will be done by midwives and my usual consultations are done by a team of medical officers (not guaranteed the same people each time). I feel a little bit uncomfortable with this. My first child was delivered by a private gynae in a mount A and the delivery fees and neonatal fees are mindblowing (amounting to almost 20k). Not sure if I wanna go back to that gynae. But I'm wondering if I should get a specialist gynae from kkh. What should I do?#pregnancy #advicepls

- 2020-12-02Hi mummies,
Has anyone had a missed miscarriage before??
I was pregnant and had my first scan at 8 weeks. Gynea told me fetus looks very small and scheduled for another appointment. On my 2nd appointment, my scan showed an empty womb - no more fetus. Gynea said I had a missed miscarriage. I had no bleeding or cramps, just really mild light brown discharge a few days before. I was shocked of course, cuz I didn’t feel anything.
I’m really struggling to accept what has happened. Gynea said there is no reason for what has happened and advised me to rest. I took a pill the following day to “complete” the miscarriage naturally and it was the most horrible day. It has been almost a month but I’m still sad.
I don’t have close friends that have went through this. And I haven’t spoken to anyone about this (other than my husband). I need your advices mummies.

- 2020-12-02Hi mummies.. my lo now 1.5yo is taken cqre by hubby and i at home as we wfh, except for 2 days - 1 day to my parents' place and 1 day to in-laws'.
However, whenever either grandma is around, she will choose grandma over us and would only want to be carried by grandma. If we want to carry her she will shake her head and refused badly 😔
Any of you encounter this? I have no idea what is happening. I don't think the grandmas pamper her more than us too. And she only spend one day a week with them, and 5 full days with us. Why will she not choose us over grandma! 😭🥺
I feel so sad and unappreciated sometimes 😭 i know she is still young but i just cant help it 😔
- 2020-12-02Hi mummies.. as i am pregnant with my 2nd child, there are more and more things that i cant do with my 1st born (1.5yo now) due to the growing bump and fatigue. eg. chase her around, carry her, shower her, pat her back to sleep motn.. etc..
Will my 1st born like me less 🥺 will i be demoted from the "favourite" person?
- 2020-12-02Hi mummies.. i am thinking between sending my baby to infant care or to in-laws when i go back to work next time.
Can experienced mamas share what are the activities done in infantcare? Say 6-12m old. I know below 6 months is almost impossible to have any activities as baby will just sleep most of the time 😅
I want to send to infant care as i dont like the way my in laws take care of my 1st born. But hubby is not agreeable to infant care as he says that own grandma will always care better than outsider. Sighs.

- 2020-12-02I'm a first time mummy. A subsidised patient in KKH recently gave birth 3 weeks ago. I am creating this post for the benefit of those that is also a subsidised patient, and whom may have questions about KKH during labour/admission.
Bed
You can only choose B2 or C ward. No deposit are required. If the selected ward is full, they will transfer you to a higher ward. You will still pay the ward that you initially selected. All are fully paid by medisave, unless your medisave is not enough then you'll be asked to make payment after they sent you the bill via post.
Natural/Caesarean
If you have opted to give birth naturally, and in cases whereby you have to do an emergency c-sect, you will be charged as c-sect. You won't be charged be both.
Visitors
In website, they stated that 5 pre-registered visitors allowed. There is a little flexibility. I did not register my visitors, and they just register themselves at counter. only 2 visitors at any one time. Your hubby will not be allowed to stay thru the night even if you're placed at ward A1.
Hospital stay
Baby will have to stay in room with mummy. you can still ask for nurses' help, they are really helpful!
Checking out
Nurse will do the necessary explanations before you leave. It will be done at your bed. They will advise when you should go polyclinic to check on newborn (jaundice). You will also be asked to register for Kkh goodie bags. It will be sent to you within 2-4 weeks.
That's all for now. You may ask questions and i will try my best to answer, based on my experience. But above all, it's still best to check with the admin staff over at Kkh. :)

- 2020-12-03My baby just turned 3mo few days ago and recently it’s been tedious to feed baby (bottle feed) since the estimated 3rd leap for him. He can usually drink 120ml each feed but recently drinks poorly- suck one time then stop, chew teat, look around, can take at least 45min and may not even finish full feed. He is taking slow flow hegen teat as he cannot upgrade yet (sputters, coughs and leak milk from sides).
Yesterday he just received his 3rd month 5-in-1 vaccine as well. Not sure whether this series of poor feeds it’s due to his 3rd leap or early 4th leap, or the side effects of vaccination itself..
Any mama experienced this? 😢

- 2020-12-04Currently 18 weeks and there are many sales around.
People suggested I started getting all those expensive things from now so it will not burden me towards the end. So any recommendations for breast pumps? First time mum. Something easy to use. ☺️
- 2020-12-04Dear mummies out there, congrats on your pregnancy journey. Of course as all we know breast milk is essential for newborn. Somehow, some mothers facing problem initially and end up give up due to nipple issues and assumption of latching issues. Actually, our newborn are smart to smell and find our nipple and latch naturally.
The first important thing is bond. Bond? Yes, skin to skin. You put your little cutey on your bare chest and hug 🤗. You create warm to him/her and you will feel so loved. That’s where your hormone kicked in to build supply.
Secondly, please Ensure proper latching technique. Please use nursing pillow provided by KKH lactation department and please ask for their pump. They have Medela Symphony pump, so please use it to express your colostrum or otherwise hand expressions once you back to ward. You also can ask that you want to do skin to skin with the ward Nurses and they will help you. Please ask for skin to skin from the Nurses if you never had the chance in labour room or in operating theatre. Do it as soon as possible once you in ward after delivery.
For latching videos - I suggest to watch Breastfeeding from Global health Project Media in YouTube. The videos explained clearly about newborn and latching techniques.
Thirdly, please tell the nurse that you want to breastfeed your little cutey not formula milk. You don’t worry that your baby will very hungry like never eat for few days.
Remember, your placenta is feeding your little one till it is out😊.
Finally, please approach the Nurses if you have any inquiry, assistance and need lactation Consultant immediately. Hope this tips will help you to initiate a successful breastfeeding with your little cutey.
Note:
1. this may NOT applicable for complicated cases which need further medical attention.
2. Please ask your doctor to refer you to breastfeeding course. Really benefits you.

- 2020-12-04Hi mummies. I'm 12 weeks pregnant now, going to be 13 weeks in a few days. However for this whole first trimester, I did not experience any swelling or boobs grew bigger, which I see it's a very common symptom among all of you. My tummy doesn't seem to be bigger, looks the same size as 8 and 10 weeks. I do have abit of nausea, and appetite slowly getting better at 12 weeks.
Quite worried if sth is wrong. My last gynae check up at KKH was 3 weeks ago which baby is growing well at that scan. Should I walk in at a private clinic to do a check on the baby to have a peace of mind?

- 2020-12-04My 5 month old babygirl is currently on mixed feeding; direct latch at home and formula in infant care. Drinking Enfamil in IFC and her teachers commented that she kept pooping after/during her feedings today.
After breastfeeding her at home this evening, she pooped an odd pale yellow (?) as in the picture. Can’t figure out if it’s an allergy or due to teething. She also just recovered from a cold over the past week. This is the first she pooped this colour and we’re quite concern. Any thoughts/advice?
Will be heading down to see the PD tomorrow nonetheless.

- 2020-12-04Hi mummies anyone given birth recently at Thomson medical via csection? Saw online average was 12k plus total bill?
- 2020-12-04It's been 2 weeks since I gave birth to my second child.
I gained more than 15kg but I'm very easy to lose weight like very very easy and my husband don't like it. He prefers me to be chubbier.
My ideal weight is 50kg. During first pregnancy, I gained 10kg and lose it back without even trying. Second pregnancy, I shoot up to nearly 70kg but I am currently 58kg now and it's only been 2 weeks since the birth.
My husband kept complaining that I look like a skeleton and when I asked him to apply some tummy cream, he even got shocked by my stomach. It's very flat... it's like I never give birth before but he told me that he can even see my bones.
Honestly, I'm not that skinny but he just prefer those chubby girl with round cheeks, above average body. My body are more to athletic body... I just look fit which I don't know if I should feel proud about it since my husband doesn't like it.
I tried to eat more but I couldn't gain much. I'm not underweight though...

- 2020-12-05Hi Mummies! I have 2 beautiful daughters and currently 15 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child & I am praying for a baby boy which I think its fair enough since I am already blessed with daughters already. 😅
My issue is about some of my friends/colleagues who kept giving me unsolicited feedback about my pregnancy although they knew that I am praying for a son. 😡
“I think its a girl”
“Forget about having a son, its a girl”
“No leh, it looks like a girl”
I don’t mind having another girl! Babies are blessing and God knows whats best for me but how can I make this insensitive people to just shut up? Honestly because of it, I don’t like to go out with them because they will just keep talking about my bump & how I changed physically. 🥺🥺🥺

Mummies, any advice for FTM here whether I should:
1. Try inducing. However I'm aware that it might end up in e-csect. My sister induced + Dr broke her waterbag but she still cmi & ended up in e-csect eventually.
2. Directly schedule for csect. But I'm aware of the slow recovery and I'm afraid of pain.

- 2020-12-05Hi mummies! I'm going to do the 13 weeks scan next week (the one that tests for any chromosome defects and down syndrome etc).. I heard results will take a few weeks to be out, and will get to know the gender too. We would like to keep it a secret to do a gender reveal. Do I have to inform the doc that I'll like it to be a secret and to ask her to write the gender inside an envelope or sth?
- 2020-12-05What's the difference in these 4 test, comparing the types of defects checked, false positive chances, gender reveal, accuracy etc. Which would you all suggest if I had to do 1? I'm 27 FTM. Thanks!

- 2020-12-05Hello mummies,
As you all know, I’m new here and I just became a mummy to my beautiful 2-day old daughter.
I would like to get some advises on how to increase my colostrum/breastmilk. My daughter has been latching on my nipple without anything coming out and I would prefer breastfeeding her instead of formula milk.
Anyway, I would prefer the most natural way on increasing my colostrum, as I do not like to depend on expensive supplements or equipments.
Thank you mummies! ❤️
- 2020-12-05Hi! Currently 21 weeks in. I find it strange that whenever after I put oil then cream to moisturise the belly, my belly skin become normal/ slight dry after a few hours. I consistently want to reapply oil as I afraid of stretch mark. Do you feel the same way ? Or you have a routine? #secondtrimester #First_Pregnancy
