- 2020-11-16Any mom has been induced at 37th week due to baby being larger than average? I'm at my 35th but baby alr 3.3kg (equivalent to 38th wk baby). Gynae informed tt I wld be induced in 2 wks' time if baby exceeds 3.6kg. Feeling anxious now as I've heard tt induced labour is more painful. Is it true?
Not sure if I shld try ways to induce labour naturally? E.g walk more/ have sex/ nipple stimulation/ eating certain foods etc but at the same time I don't want to be in labour before reaching 37th week...
Any mom used to be in a similar situation? What did u do? Should I wait to be induced? So far I only experienced irregular contractions which I presume are just Braxton Hicks.#1stimemom #firstbaby

- 2020-11-17Based on my last menstrual period, I should be at my 6 weeks now. However, during my scan yesterday at 5 + 6 weeks its shows an empty gestational sac with no yolk or fetal pole. Doctor says that the gestational sac indicates that 99% baby is in the womb and not an ectopic pregnancy. But I can’t help but feel very very anxious before my next scan on 25th! This is my first baby.

[I'm soooo glad we have a house of our own, otherwise I'd be so embarrassed if we were to be staying with parents/in-laws.]

- 2020-11-18Hi All,
I'm currently about 22weeks and my husband is not comfortable with having sex with me as he is afraid of being too rough. So we turned to masturbation. I'm ok with that but my problem is after i orgasam, i feel a tight cramp at my tummy for awhile. Which makes me feel like i shouldn't be doing it as it seems to be affecting my tummy. Unsure if it's affecting the baby (i hope not) I'm shy to ask my gyne about this. Is anyone experiencing the same thing?

- 2020-11-19I just went for my first gynae check up. They did a scan and all they said was “ I can’t see baby yet. I can only see yolk sac”. The expression somehow left me thinking whether am I really pregnant? Coz they also kept saying “don’t know if the pregnancy will progress”. Gosh.
Edit: it was the sonographer at KKH who said all these. Not the gynae.
UPDATE 8/12: I just went for my scan yesterday and they saw the heartbeat and babies head. I’m at 8 weeks now. THANK GOD. phew.
- 2020-11-19I'm currently pregnant 5 weeks. I have a 18 mths bb. Right now I'm the one bringing her to my mum every morning b4 work. Wonder how u guys handle. As my daughter will wants to be carried at times. Do u still carry her? Can I still tula her?
- 2020-11-19Hi all, this is my second time getting a BFP (previous time had a chemical pregnancy miscarriage).. And my happiness became shortlived when the gynae could not see the embryo within the gestational sac during the transvaginal scan. I'm at 6weeks pregnancy and will need to go back a week later for another scan. Anyone had a similar experience but went on to have a smooth sailing pregnancy? Am so worried that this will be another disappointing miscarriage :(
- 2020-11-19Does anyone of you have frequent braxton hicks during your 2nd trimester?
Not my 1st pregnancy and I know it's BH cos it's a tight feeling on my tummy which comes and goes, not painful at all just a squeezing feeling which is really uncomfortable. Since 2 days ago it has become more frequent like 10 times or more than a day even when I'm just lying or sittting down still. Not sure if it's because of dehydration (BH can happen when you're dehydrated). Noticed that I drank lesser since a few days ago.
Pregnant after 9 years. Never felt like this with my other pregnancies. Read that it can be pretty intense especially if you've been pregnant before. I know all pregnancies are different but does anyone else experience the same? My next appointment is at the end of this month 😟

- 2020-11-19Hi Mummies/Daddies, during my 1st pregnancy last year, I had a very bad bout of morning sickness for the whole of my 1st trimester. So much so, that I lost 5kg!
Before pregnancy, I have motion sickness too. And before my going on my road trip in Japan, I found this thingy called “Seaband”. It basically works my pressing a ball on your acupressure point. So I tried it on the winding roads in Japan. And IT WORKED!
So my point is, during my last pregnancy, I should have worn this just to prevent all the nausea. Midway, my husband reminded me of my seaband. I brought it out. Started wearing daily. And morning sickness no more.
At least this piece of simple contraption worked for me. I hope it works for you too! It’s not very expensive, but it’s a drug free one that works.

- 2020-11-19Hi mummies, my baby is 1 month 14 days now. Nowadays he kept crying halfway through feeding time. We thought it might be because of gas so halfway through feeding time we always try to burp him. Sometimes he’ll burp, sometimes he won’t.
But even when he burped already, he’ll still cry. So I will have to swaddle him and then he’ll finish his milk. Swaddling does help. But I wonder why he keeps crying now? Any of you mummies experience this?

- 2020-11-19Recently abit triggered / uptight when it comes to visiting my parents and in law with my baby. Just a quick bg.. I stay at Yishun, my parents and in law both stay at central area (Kallang) . My baby is placed at ifc till 7pm daily due to we the parents working at hougang and Jurong. My hubby work on sat full day. Usually we try to bring my baby back to my mum place on fri night for dinner at their place. By the time we pick my baby up , we will reach around 730pm. And we gotta leave at around 9.30pm as my hubby working next day and baby needs to sleep . We don’t have a helper. My parents and in law doesn’t come and ‘help out’ cause of far travelling(they complained ). Now they are complaining indirectly that they are seeing their grandson too little. I am offended.. because Everyday we rush day and night but all they care is for us to bring baby back. I know they want to see him but they are not helping but instead giving us stress for this kind of unnecessary stuff. My in laws are both retirees and always want us to bring him back to their house. Sometimes we bring 2 weeks once . Sometimes 3. Cause Sunday is me and hubby only family off day. So we will do housework , rest or spend time as a family by bringing baby out. I am stressed and angry over this.. how do u guys manage? Haiz.. My bto is coming 3 years old. we tried appealing to sell early but no news from hdb. It’s really tiring me and my hubby out . I

I feel lonely... it’s been very long since I went out with a friend

- 2020-11-19Hi parents,
Need some opinion and advice here!
My 10mo is attending infant care soon and I’m thinking if I should allow him to continue using pacifier for naps.
My LO don’t use pacifier during wake time but is sometimes dependent on pacifier for naps and definitely need to use it for overnight sleep. I’m just worried that if i don’t let him use pacifier at all, he will be lack of sleep n super cranky due to poor naps in IFC. But on the other hand, I also have intention to wean him soon.
Would you just give pacifier first then lessen the amount of usage at home and gradually wean off, or just totally cut and don’t giving starting from IFC?
TIA!
- 2020-11-20My 15 months old daughter having fever, running nose and coughing since 13/11, went to see doctor in that morning, take paracetamol and coughing medicine.
She no more fever in 15/11 and 16/11, but come back strong fever 39.8 at 18/11 evening, so we bring her to KKH Child A&E, the doctor check her urine say no problem, and did swab test also negative result. During we at A&E, doctor gave her paracetamol and we waited for 1 hour the fever go down a little bit to 38 something.
18/11 midnight the fever goes to 40.7 and I gave prufien, up and down at 19/11 whole day, and during ytd midnight, her fever goes to 41.2, I gave prufien again.
Doctor say as long as she is active and drink more milk and water, and we only can go back to see her if the fever is continuously for 5 days / she is inactive/vomit.
Any parents have similar experience can share? I am really helpless, this is first time she sick not because of injection

- 2020-11-20Im 13 weeks now and have been taking Obimin and fish oil supplements prescribed to me by kkh for a week now. My morning sickness was subsiding initially but i realised i felt nausea again and its always after ive taken those 2 supplements in the morning. During my first trimester, my morning sickness only happens in the evening. I googled the side effects of those 2 supplements and 1 of it was Nausea. Now i feel like the "vomitty" feeling is never gonna end throughout my pregnancy! Anyone have ideas on how to tackle this issue?😓
- 2020-11-20Sometimes hiring is worse than not hiring. The nanny I hired made us take care of baby in the day and used harsh methods to make the baby sleep, eg quite vigorous rocking and patting. She claimed that baby is naughty already when baby is just passing a difficult phase in his first couple of months. Guilty for not knowing this and not stopping the nanny.

- 2020-11-20Hi 👋🏻
Any breastfeeding mama here?🤱🏻
I have a few questions regarding breastfeeding and please correct me if I am wrong 🙏🏻 I'm still new to breastfeed thingy 😅
1. How many times do you breastfeed in a day?
2. How long can breastmilk last in room temperature? I heard that it can last up to 4 hours, is it true?
3. I prefer pumping than latching because my newborn doesn't know how to latch properly and I'll end up bleeding a little unless if it's an emergency and no time to pump then I'll let him latch while I'm baring the pain. How many times do you pump and do you store it? How? Explain because I never store my milk before.
4. My milk is overflow... other than breast pads, how do you prevent too much leakage especially when you're outside?
5. How long do you breastfeed? I plan to stop when newborn reaches 2 years old.
6. My newborn poo every feedings. Yellowish bowel, normal?

- 2020-11-20Hello all, is this poop texture and colour normal or it’s diarrhea? It’s really runny and watery. My 1 month old started pooping only once a day a few days back and when she does, it’s a poonami and watery. She is on mixed feeding, currently 70-90ml of bottle-fed breastmilk (previously more direct latch but I googled about foremilk and hindmilk and baby drinks more foremilk and caused her gassy stomach) during day time and 60-90ml S26 formula throughout the night. Previously her stool was normal since she was born. And she used to poop a few times a day. Recently only once a day. Getting worried here.
Could it be possible that it’s my breastmilk?? 😣 any advise would be much appreciated please!! Thank you in advance! 😭🙏🏻#1stimemom #firstbaby #advicepls #breasfeedingmom

How about screen time? My girl, currently 1 year old plus, will request for us to on TV for her 😂 but we do restrict her. So maybe abt 5-10mins per screen time. Just wondering if it’s recommended to give in sometimes?

- 2020-11-21Help!! My MIL kissed my baby on the lip despite us telling her not to in the past. We told her that need to wash hands and cannot kiss baby. We visited her today and she remembered that she needed to wash hands (told me she washed hands before carrying my baby). Yet, when she played with my baby, I saw her purposely put her forehead close to baby's a few time then suddenly kissed my baby on his lip! I was so upset and angry. I quickly gave excuse to bring my baby away and wiped his mouth with wet wipe. Did not allow her to carry baby thereafter and quickly left the house. What makes her think that she has the right to kiss MY SON on the lips? We are worried about the hygiene issue! And now still covid period! Mummies pls tell me what you had done to stop this from happening again. This is a total nightmare and I am considering stopping any form of access with MIL to prevent this from happening. Totally disgusted!!
