2020-01-13Currently my baby is with a nanny for day care. It’s 1 to 1. It started about a month+ ago. The nanny seems to be taking good care of her. From what I’ve seen, the following is what the nanny does every day with my daughter: 8am Milk 10am Bath 12pm Porridge + sleep if wants to 2pm Purée 4pm Milk + sleep 5pm Snacks 6pm Clean/wipe the baby The nanny put the baby to sleep by patting her which I don’t do ? Carry her around the house or to the corridor to see the neighbourhood if she’s cranky. Im not sure if nanny lets her plays by herself much/ tummy time , instead she likes to carry her around ? I don’t carry her a lot if she’s home, I usually let her play with her toys, explore the surroundings. I’m ok with the carrying, as long as the nanny truly cares about my kid. How about your experience with your child’s nanny?

2020-01-13Hi all, parents do you put your kids at childcare / infant care or your in laws/parents look after them? Am currently faced with a complicated situation which is: 1) In laws are still working full time so unable to take care of LOs (< 1 y/o) 2) my own parents are unable to take care of LO full time as they are close to 70, do not want to put additional strain on them and they are not in the greatest health 3) both hubs and I am working full time 4) infant care/childcare did cross my mind but in laws strongly against it cos they feel that I should be SAHM for the first 4 years of LO’s life 5) getting a helper did cross my mind too but hubs is strongly against it because he doesn’t like an outsider/stranger living in the same house. 6) Hubs felt that i should put LOs with my parents since that’s the only choice so we both can go to work. I can’t afford to quit my job as I still have to provide for my parents/pay loans/bills/mortgage etc :/ and desperately want to put my LO in a IFC/CC near my workplace. Dearest mummies and daddies, how do you cope with full time work plus young kiddos? Thanks all for your inputs in advance.

2020-01-14My 5 month old boy rolled over and fell from the bed that’s about a knee-high. He cried for about 2 minutes but quickly settled after I soothed him. He seemed okay after that as he immediately smiled and laughed as usual. There were no bruises on his head or body. Honestly I’m not sure how he landed as I just turned my back for a split second when it happened. Went to the polyclinic. Doctor checked everything and said that he was okay. My husband requested referral to the hospital to do a CT scan to scan for possible blood clot on the head and x ray for hairline fracture. As a mother, I am a bit apprehensive to send my baby to undergo such scans as they’re not good for the baby and it’s unnecessary as he does not produce any symptoms at all. We will monitor him for the next 24 hours. If there’s no vomiting, bruise or fever, then I don’t see the need to go for scan. Thoughts?

2020-01-14How strict r u when it comes to formula? I have 1 big can of formula that expires in March 2021. However I read that once the can is opened, best to use up all contents within 1 month. Any mummies out there use the same can of formula for more than 1 month? Reason is - initially I was on the low supply side and my confinement nanny suggested feeding FM in the night and I agreed because I needed the rest too. Now she is gone and I am feeding EBM in the day and latching in the night. My big can of formula is just sitting there..... I was thinking of using it for emergencies like I can’t be home on time and my other caregiver will be able to make FM for baby. But expiry date wise... pls advise!! I don’t want to waste it... still have 3/4 of the can.. if not I’ll rather bless it.. left with 20 days I think if I were to follow the 1 month rule.

2020-01-14My 3 months + baby coming to 4th month gets really tired at night, and he is sleeping through for 5-6hrs without wanting the milk lately. He hasn't increased the volume on each feeding in the day, and even when he wakes up after 5hrs, he drinks alot lesser than the volume in the day. Is this normal? Should i wake him up to feed?

2020-01-14I had c section about 1 week ago. For 2 days I'm having on and off fever. My next gyne appointment is only next week. So I went to the nearest clinic near my house. Even the doctor don't know why I got fever. But when I checked my temperature there, it was only 37.2. He took blood and urine test and called me once the results was out. He said it might be due to urine infection. That too he said "might". He said I need to start antibiotics. But I don't trust his words and have asked for the report so that I can show my gyne next week. I don't have any symptoms for urine infection also. But today also I felt hot and after while I sweat, it's gone. Any advise?

2020-01-156 days PP. My MIL cooking taste very bland. I got no appetite. I get hungry easily. When I add soya sauce to my food, she nag at me. When I tell her that her ginger rice is spicy, she say its good for me. My body very weak & giddy easily. Husband insist me to breast feed. Not having enough milk supply for baby. I am not getting rest. My family kept calling me everyday asking me what I eat? Why my MIL never cook good food for me? They are upset I am not taking wine because of breast feeding. I really don't know how to pleased both side. Baby cry each time I try to breast feed her. I think she is getting impatient. She prefers to drink formula from bottle. It's faster.
2020-01-15Hello Mummies, my 1.5 months LO had been sleeping on her tummy since last week. Initially i thought she had issue sleeping alone, but realised she doesnt like to sleep on her back. 2020-01-15My LO is coming to 3 months in 2 weeks time and we still swaddle her when she sleeps. I read on the internet that it is advisable to remove swaddling when your LO turns 2 months. The thing is my LO still has her startle/moro reflex that will disrupt her sleep every 10 or 20 mins and swaddling really helps her to self soothe and she will go back to sleep herself. Another thing when we tried to unswaddle her, she will start rubbing her face oe mouth with her hands when we try to put her down and ended up she woke up and we had to soothe her again to sleep. Any thoughts on this?

Supposed to hire 2 full time staff but boss hired only me cos she wants to hit KPI and have more profits for the coy (heard it from someone who knows boss). Once my mil take over however she always quieten down instantly and dozes off immediately. Knowing something was wrong, I brought her to Paediatrician on Tues and found out that she has ear infection and her throat was slightly red. She has been rejecting milk since Monday. She only drink twice a day. Usually she will drink about 4-5 times a day. But now it's only One at 3am the other at 4pm. But she will finish the solids. She is on 10days antibiotics currently. Does anyone encounter this kind of situation before? Why is she rejecting milk? What can I do? Is it because the milk bottle teat? Pls help!

I used to have 90ml from both sides (in my third week post natal now), and now sometimes I only get 60ml from both sides. I drink at least 2L of water and longan red date tea a day and I sleep at least 6 hours. Not sure why my milk is decreasing? There are no clogged ducts also. I have been drinking green papaya soup, eating fish, lactation cookies etc but still the same 60ml yield. :( anyone with the same problem? How to increase the supply again? For personal reasons, I'm not able to latch the baby directly.

' DUDE IM TIRED WHATEVER I DO NOW BRO and the the second qns i answered NO NOT ANYTIME SOON AH ?? cant blame him also bah. he stayed the whole night till i fall asleep then now his turn to sleep ? baby is so active that whenever i wanna rest, she will be super super active, till i cant catch my breath. 2020-01-17SOS I am currently overseas and my son seems to have been bitten by fire ants which has resulted in an awfully bad rash / reaction on his feet and now spreading to his hands . We gave him an anti allergic right away but this morning his fever spiked to 39 and he’s got chills /fever . We seen a doctor as well and even after ibuprofen, corticosteroid lotions , anti allergic medicines he is suffering. He is always incredibly cooperative and has pain threshold better than most adults I know but even for him this is too much. Is there any home remedy that can give him any relief at all . He just celebrated his 5th birthday 2 days ago and it’s just awful this should happen a day after his celebrations. Has anyone gone through what I have ? How long does this last ? 2020-01-17Hi mommies, am wondering if i should delay my pumping intervals for better overall yield. Understand that usually people will advise to keep regular pumping schedule (3hourly) to maintain supply but from what i see from my pumping logbook: For eg, 4 pumps ~ 760ml (more than 5-6 hours kind of interval) VS 5-7 pumps ~ 760ml or less (normal 3 ish hours interval + pumping out extra after DL). LO is one month & im pumping enough + a little bit extra each time and i find myself chasing the clock to make sure she gets her bm. The better yield when my breasts are very engorged gives me much motivation but im not sure if this is harmful to my supply or will cause mastitis in the long run?

2020-01-17I’m currently 35 Weeks 3 Days. However, gynae mentioned that size and weight of baby is 36 Weeks 6 Days. Judging from the growth of the baby, gynae adviced to be induced about a week or so before the actual EDD as he don’t advice first time mummy to give birth to a huge baby. I’ve been having water retention on my feet recently, high frequency of visiting to the restroom to pee, feeling ticklish near my vagina area that causes me to pee even more and braxton hicks. Are these some signs that labour is coming pretty soon ?
2020-01-17Hi im on my 8 weeks now and dont have any pregnancy symptoms or morning sickness but is it normal to have spotting? like a period blood i guess but not so many ? when i go to the Hospital, Doc ask me to wait for another 2 weeks and see if the baby still growing or not.. if the baby still the same size then she will give me a cytolog pill to clear my womb.. ☹️ what should i do?

2020-01-18In the year of 2019 I worked till November first week and went into hospitalization leave till 2020 Feb (till I due for birth) after that only I'll be taking my maternity leave and will require me to go back to work mid June of 2020. I didn't get any amount of 13th month bonus but have been receiving my pay during my hospitalization leave. My hospitalization leave for 2019 is 54 days when I'm entitled to 60 days. This year 2020 I'm on hospitalization leave for 45 days and my leaves got renewed. Is it normal for companies not to pay 13 month bonus if their on hospitalization leave? Can anyone advise me?

2020-01-18Hi everyone I really don't know what can I do to make my husband love me again. Our relationship has been very sour ever since the birth of our daughter. Till the extend we are staying separately. We do not have our own place. Our main issue is he don't trust me in taking care of our baby. He sides his parents alot. We had alot of quarrel till the extend he send a lawyer letter to me and wanna have our baby. I tried talking to him many time even recently he told me he don't love me anymore. He gave me 2 choice 1. To move back and stay tgt be the parent to our baby that's all. Or he will fight for our baby. I really love my hub alot. I wanna keep our family tgt. But I really can't live with my in laws anymore. They are the issue to majority of our issues. And I don't know how to sleep beside someone who no longer love me. How can I make my hub love me again? 2020-01-18My 14 month old is a fussy eater. He loves trying new foods but after two bites refuses to eat. He also refuses to sit still to eat at the table. His grandmother, in a bid to get him to eat well, bribes him to eat with blueberries or biscuits and let’s him play while following up with a spoon of food to eat.
