- 2020-09-21It came on suddenly last night, and I had it throughout the night. I could barely sleep. Pain scale about 7-8/10. Sharp stabbing like pain when I move about or turn about in bed. But once I am at a rested spot I do not notice it as much.
I think I should go to KKH, but I am expecting a delivery later between 2-4pm (frozen foods) of all days! Can anyone tell me what I can do to ease the pain for now, until I can go KKH in the afternoon?
Please respond in English! Thank you in advance!

I have been having this pain since yesterday.
No blood or waterbag burst.
Have any of you mummies felt that before?
I am kinda worried if that is a sign of contraction.
I do not wanna go to preterm labour.. 😭

- 2020-09-21Hi all,
May I ask which teats do you think I should get for my newborn? Should I get 1m+ and 3m+? She’s coming in mid-Oct. Really need some advices regarding bottle teats. I would want to give her sufficient BM (latch or expressed). So not sure if these are the right teats? I bought Dr Brown’s anti-colic bottles as well as I’m afraid she might have colic.

- 2020-09-21Went to general practitioner as baby is unwell, having flu and cough. Gp gave medication such as phenexpect and ventolin. After giving medication i was told by a friend not to give as their body cannot take it at this age and go to a paediatrician instead. Anybody have any experience? Baby really cannot take medication prescribed by gp or at this age?
- 2020-09-21I was admitted to KKH at week 28 after having one episode of bleeding and random episodes of spotting before that. The doctors there gave me steroid jab just in case I have pre term labour. Today at week 32 I have spotting again and my own gynae in private practice has given me the steroid jab again. I read online about some long term negative side effects on neuro development of babies after taking the jabs. Can any mummy share with me their experience if their babies turned out fine after taking the jabs?
- 2020-09-21My 5mth baby is STTN most of the time, and takes about 7 feeds a day (compared to 8 when baby was younger). Baby is on mixed feeds (if bottle feed, 150ml), with mostly good diaper output.
1. Is 7 feeds a day too little? Should I wake baby up for a feed?
2. Is 150ml ok for a 5mth old? Is there a guide on when to increase amount and how much to increase, upon assessing baby's readiness?

- 2020-09-21Hello Mummy,
Need some advise on nursing and pumping.
My baby is currently one week old. I express milk between 50ml to 90ml combined.
Just wondering if i follow a 3h expression schedule and in between baby latches on, do i push back to another 3h or follow schedule?
Also, is it necessary to pump in the wee hours of the night?
TIA!
- 2020-09-21Is it okay not to do baby led weaning? I’m afraid of choking my baby
- 2020-09-21Hi mummies, is this a faint positive test result on clear blue or is it just an evap line? Any mummies got a result like this before?
- 2020-09-21Today is my 11days after giving birth.
First 4days I didn't to sleep much.have to wake up and fed my baby girl at most I get to sleep for 4hrs in a day.
My mil took 4days leave on the day 4 she return to work she asked me when I free do laundry(older people say don't touch water).. and the day 6 she ask me to eat char siu rice( idk why... I dare not say no and agree with it.) Idk can I eat or not during my confinement period..
We was decided to get a maid in the late Oct or early Nov. Because my maternity leave end on Dec. Firstly is to take care of the baby when I'm away, secondly is the take care of my husband parents (first of all I have to say yes the are old but both of the are still working)
So right now why is she angry with me is because They when down to the agencies maid to ask for more information. They down for interview the maid. and they decided to hire her cause she meet our expectations(which I didn't expect we are hiring straight away after they when down for interview) it will be willing this few days the maid will have to move in the our house. As they also mentioned that she will have another 2 interviewer going to interview her too.they don't want to miss this opportunity.(and yes I understand too. Me too. But, my concern is the cost, is unacceptable to me.
Let me make it short a simple.
They agree to hire a maid
My concern is why do we need to pay extra 2mth to hire a maid when by Im still on my leave. Yes, I get that point no difference by hiring 2mth later or now after all we are still going to hire a maid. And yes, we mightn't be able to get the same expected maid we wants. But we will be facing financial problems. That's is one think I don't want sit to happen. If we get the me now and we will all facing the financial problems.
After all she is angry with me that I make them a wasted trip.. I did apologies. She don't seem like she accept it.. but it's ok. I know where I come from. And I know she HV been being this way from the start..
I'm just feeling tired. Not worrying about getting depression.. but I just can't hole my tear back...
- 2020-09-21Do you tend to hold/touch your tummy during pregnancy? E.g while walking, climbing up or down stairs. At which stage did you start and why?

- 2020-09-21Hello mummies, just asking anyone goes without using the help of the epidural to manage the pain? Because my friends and family tell me if it’s possible try not use epidural. And I’m kinda worried it’s gonna be really really bad if I don’t opt for one.
- 2020-09-21My IL say have to hand wash. And she say that she will do it for me. She soap the baby clothes more thn 2days and yest she say that she will wash to my husband but my husband say that he will do it. But until tdy non of them wash.. this evening everyone was out and I make time to wash it and soap the other clothing too. She came back just now and wash and she still mad. I believe she didn't know that I wash the one she soap and the one she washing is I'm the one soap it..
I really dk what to do to make it better..
I really don't understand her.. idk what to do...
- 2020-09-21How should I put it in to ask my husband To move out from his parents and we live alone.
I don't feel home here... Even we are married and have a 11 days old baby..
But it still feel like I'm a outsider...
As for now, I'm sleeping but I don't dare to sleep because she is still angry with me..
My eyes is so tired. And now my husband just go to bed.. zzz

- 2020-09-22I wrote yesterday about a pain I am experiencing in the lower left abdomen. It became unbearable and have radiated to my left leg.
I decided to get checked at KKH O&G Emergency Clinic this morning. They did a thorough Ultrasound Scan, confirmed baby is OK. But unable to find any reason for the pain.
I was given two options: 1) admission for observation and investigation - possibly with CT scan, which has risk to baby or 2) discharge with panadol and own observation.
I really don't know what I should do now. Anyone experience this before? Please share your experience?

- 2020-09-22Hi. I am a working single mother with sole custody. I just paid full deposit of my child fees $880 including registration for next year child care in Nursery.
I was being told that the childcare will only start processing those documents on the first day.
So means i need to fork out $780 for school fees from Jan to when??
I dont know how the processing time will takes?
Anyone can advise me. I find it ridiculous if the processing takes longer.
Documents all submitted n i did asked the staff to check if anything missing. She said all in.
How??

- 2020-09-22I am now in week 32 and been having insomnia with leg and knee cramps since I am in my third month till today. For now I can only sleep late at night and waking up every 2 hours either for toilet or caused of the leg cramps. Been not going to work since last week as I felt really tired. Having back pains as well now. I just wish I can get HL till my maternity leave starts next month as I requested to go earlier. How do you supermums deal with this? How can I request for an HL? Been asking KKH for it since my last check up but failed as doctor says its their protocol not to issue HL if its outpatient. The thing is I have left with no MC and annual leave totally zero. Have any of you supermum having the same situation as me? Please share, thank you. #advicepls #pregnancy #1stimemom #firstbaby

I intend to breastfeed my baby after birth. I didn't get the chance to do so with my other kids as my milk supply was really low even with Fenugreek. I also intend to bottle feed my bm just in case my nipples hurts/cracks.
What do I really need to buy? The essential things for breastfeeding. I know breastpump is needed. What else?
Also, what should I do to increase my bm? TIA for your advice & help ☺️

- 2020-09-24Hi all,
I just went for my 36 weeks scan and was told that baby is now head down (previously at 33 weeks she was breech) and that she weighs 3.1kg.
Would love to know your baby’s weight at birth and at how many weeks did you deliver. The gynae told me 3.1kg is within normal range at 36 weeks but I think it’s normal to feel that baby is on the heavier side which I’m not really worried at the moment but quite worried if she’s gonna be 4kg at birth. And then I’ll require an emergency c-sect instead cause gynae already cancelled my scheduled c-sect on 14th Oct since baby is already head down and told me that we could try to go for normal birth on my initial EDD which is on 19 Oct.
Any of you encountered baby stopped growing until birth or baby will keep growing?
Have any of you also encountered baby turned breech again at the last min before EDD?

- 2020-09-24Hello, first time mother here.
So yesterday evening had my 38 weeks + check up at SGH and doctor has checked that I was around 1 to 2 cm dilated already. Doctor has suggested to do induced labour for me tomorrow which means today as I write this post. This is due to the reason of low fetal movement. After doing heart tracing, heartbeat is all okay, had 3 to 4 contractions in 10 minutes which honestly I didn't knew or felt. That's another reason why doctor wanted to induced because I can't count or feel my contractions. Doctor fear that I might have stillbirth which would then be too late.
I want to do natural delivery and seeing the posts about induced being more painful scares me. I am only 24 years old and my husband is also worried but he also thinks its the best for me and our baby cause either way, both can end up on emergency c sect for natural and induced as advised by my gynae.
Anyone can share their experience on induced labour and what I should do? Any advises?
Doctor eventually told me, it is up to me to decide whether I choose induced or wait it out for natural delivery.
I am conflicted and scared. I don't know what to do.

- 2020-09-25Hi I have a 70yo plus father in law who is still a smoker, drinker, gambler and a womaniser who often sleeps with indecent china women until now. Anyway this is him and he has been doing all these with or without my late mum-in-law. When my mum-in-law is around, she never even allow my father in law to put & mix his clothes with rest of the others into the washer for washing, her main reason was worrying if he carries any STDs (e.g: Herpes) and may infect the other family members. Even his own children (my hubby & his both sisters) despised on him and also think he doesn’t deserve to be respected at all.
So I have a young toddler whom I often told her not to stay too close to her grandpa (referring to my father in law) when she’s very young, I emphasised many times to her don’t allow him kiss and touch her all the times. Now my child is old enough to express herself so she will say in front of him during our family gatherings or even when doing video recordings too. I did feel abit embarrassed for this when they learnt about why my child is saying “grandpa is dirty!” but at the same time, I don’t want to deny how this is what I felt and wanted my child to stay away from him (worried he has any sexual diseases etc). And I feel so upset because my sis in law once told my husband to tell me to try leave a good impression of their dad to my child, but how to accept this and lie to my child about my father in law is actually a good grandpa? In fact, he is not a good grandpa at all, he seldom visit my child and has never bought much things for my kid if he really dears her, he squandered all his money on gambling, drinking and patronising women. Instead for my own mum, I have never ask her to do all these but she will purposely travel all the way via mrt, buys food, toys & even concocted herbal soup for my child (her grandchild).
What would you do or say to your child as a mum if you were me? Did anyone of have experienced the similar father-in-law like that? Are you not concern if your dad-in-law (with such vices) will affect my child, especially the STD part including Herpes)?? Thanks for good advices.

- 2020-09-25Hi mummies!
My NB is 14 days old today but she has very loud gulping/swallowing sounds everytime she drinks. It would seems like she's swallowing very strongly. Then after the fed she'll breathe alittle faster like almost panting and will only calm down after like 10mins. she doesn't seem to be in distress, unhappy or uncomfortable.. Anyone experiencing this too?
We've changed the bottle teats, fed her slowly, burp her during feed intervals but the sounds doesnt seems to decrease. Not sure if there should be any concerns here.

I’ve been really overthinking as to when my labour is getting closer and what if i pushes my baby out and needed episiotomy, it will affect the tear that im having right on my anus..
