2020-01-06My 3-year old kid recently has a severe phobia attending school ever since she got promoted to nursery with a new classroom and new teachers recently in Dec (1 month). For the first 2 weeks, everything seemed quite fine except she doesn’t nap in the afternoon anymore but she napped daily when she was in her previous pre-nursery class (attended 10 months). Lately she has been crying very badly and repeating like a cassette recorder for 2 entire days & daily saying she didn’t want to go school anymore and the new teachers were very fierce with her. She mentioned she’s afraid of seeing them. She also said the teacher beat her backside several times when we asked her why she doesn’t enjoy schooling anymore like she really used to be? We also don’t know how true it is but hearing she has been repeating the same story over & over again made us somehow trusted in her. We also spoke to the principal regarding her recent condition but not much info was revealed as the cctv footages can’t be viewed by us. And there’s one recent incident where she fell on her boy classmate when playing in class causing the boy to lose balance and hit his back of the head accidentally which may have startled or traumatised her. Till date, everyday she will keep telling me any time of the day she doesn’t want to attend school and every night before sleeping she will cry & tell me many times she doesn’t want to go school again and again. We can’t even mention the word “school” to her, if we did or when she is reminded of school, she will start to feel nauseous then followed by vomiting episodes. In the middle of each night, she will wake up crying from her terrible nightmares saying she doesn’t want to go school again. When i am taking her to school or on the way she will start to cry and want to vomit. The moment she reached the school, she will feel nauseous and vomit a lot in front of her class or when she entered her classroom after the compulsory morning checks. She will cry really loudly and also have a lot of resistance going into the classroom, she even hugged me so tightly like I am never coming back for her. She will screamed, asked for me “mummy” and teachers have to pull her away from my arms. It has been on-going (vomit issue) for almost 2 weeks plus till now. Her morning milk intake (breakfast) at home used to be 240ml and now it only became 100ml. When she vomited out all her milk in the school in the morning, there’s nothing left in her stomach. Her whole appetite also changed very drastically. She no longer drinks or eats well (her lunch), 1st milk (before nap time), snacks (tea break) and 2nd milk (before going home). Teachers have been reporting to me she barely eat anything for her meals in school daily and even totally refused to drink 2 milk as she’s afraid she may vomit after taking the milk. At home before this phobia happened, she enjoys drinking milk and eating well for her solid food (meals). She used to drink 800 to 1000ml of milk daily including the ones she drank at school & at home and ate 1 solid food meal after school for dinner. Now she has changed entirely and her milk intake per day is only 200ml, which is worrying us so much as she doesn’t drink or eat well, yet keep vomiting all the time day and night whenever she thinks of going to school and seeing her new teachers the next day. All her eczema also broke out badly which I assumed it’s linked to her stress and anxiety. Many months before all these happened, she is looking very forward to her birthday celebration in school as it’s her first celebration after she enrolled into schooling. We planned far ahead & ordered her fave character cake, bought all the necessary decor for the big day but now whenever we talked about the word “cake”, she will cry and tell us she doesn’t want birthday cake anymore as she’s very clear and knows in order to cut cake for her birthday, she will have to attend school. We felt so sad as she used to be telling me how excited she was knowing she’s going to have her first birthday celebration in school with her classmates. She has been affected that she no longer look forward for her big day now too. We can’t figure out what’s wrong and what really happened to her suddenly? She has slimmed down a bit since she can’t eat or sleep well. And I am heartbroken to be honest as I don’t know how to aid or help my poor kid who is in desperate need. She can’t tell us much exactly what’s going on for her as she’s only coming to 3-years old but we really feel her SOS outcries. I don’t know how much longer she can still bear but as a parent, I can’t bear this see her being in this state any further. Please can anyone advise if we should bring her to see a child specialist (psychiatrist or psychologist) for her case. She has been mentally & emotionally tortured at such young age which we are very concerned if she will be affected for her physical development. Does anyone happen to have the contacts of a Child Psychiatrist or Psychologist? If yes please PM too. Thank you and hope to hear more useful replies & advices from you all asap!

2020-01-06Mummies! My lo is going to be 3 months old and she keeps napping only 20-30mins each time from morn till evening time. I can't do much work unless she's in the baby carrier, she can sleeps for hours. Does anyone also experience this? I need advice. 2020-01-06Dear mummies who are staying with your in laws, does your mother in law constantly nags or have anger outbursts on your dropped hair strands? As much as i tried to pick up and sweep the hair strands off the floor, MIL scolds and reprimands that i dropped too much hair, all over the floor. It is not a bunch of hair but single isolated strands here and there. MIL said she doesn’t understand why I drop so much hair and should pick up every single strand of it that I dropped and throw it into the dustbin. Mummies, how to deal with this? It’s v miserable to get constantly nagged about dropped hair.

2020-01-07How did mummies cope with post natal blues? It's my second week. First week hubby was with me so I didn't feel very bad. This week he went back to work. And I am feeling very devastated. 2020-01-07My two week Old Newborn Latches on my wife But Will Stop Suckling After 5 Minutes. She Will Keep Crying (sometimes for as long as 20 mins) Until The she Finally Finds The Right Angle Or Position And Finally Latches Again.And most of the time she will not latch at all until we find the right position or angle for her. 2020-01-08Hi everyone! My LO just turned 4 last November and is now in K1. There are days where I drop him off in school with no issues at all, he'll be happily skipping his way to put his bag in his cubby hole. But more often than not, he will ask for random things like snacks before he steps in to school and if we tell him we will get it after school, he will start pulling a long face and refuse to go into school. No cryings though, just whining and refusal to step into school and start being clingy to me for 10mins or more. This is quite frustrating especially at 745am. Is this separation anxiety or just trying his luck? Anyone faces this problem and how do you handle it? Grateful for your insights!

2020-01-09Sharing my experience here. I’m suppose to be in my 11 weeks of pregnancy, but just find out that baby heartbeat had stop some time back. My husband and i were happily waiting for the week 11 of gynae appointment and scan to see our baby. The appointment suppose to be this Saturday. But I saw brown towards black discharge on Sunday (7days before the appointment). Follow by watery discharge with a little of pinky on Monday. I was in a shock, but I thought it should be normal because a lot of people do experience browny or pinky discharge. The next day I woke up and saw urine with blood. I know something could have happened. I went to my gynae, hoping that nothing wrong with the baby. But the result was, baby heartbeat had stop at around 7-8weeks of my pregnancy. It’s a heartbreaking news to both my husband and I because we have been waiting for three years. The baby came quietly and goes quietly. Nothing we can do. To all mummies, don’t find discharge as normal. If you find something unusual, just consult doctor, I think they have better and professional answer to our problem.

2020-01-09My LO has been putting medicated oil on her head since she was 1 week old, as My mil says that it is necessary so that wind will not go into her body. Since she was 3 months old, cradle cap started to appear on the area the mediated oil was applied. So in order to combat the cradle cap more oil was applied to removed it. Now she is 4 month old, without the cradle cap already, however her scalp is still a little red and still itchy. Just wondering, if the cradle cap was caused by the oil and if it is necessary to put the mediated oil in the first place? Did any other mummy do it for their LO too? Should I bring her to see a PD?

Instances such as - when I latch him outside non aircon place, with nursing cover, out side at non aircon place lie in stroller . He will cry and when I carry him his back is sweaty, hair becomes oily and smelly. We bathe him almost daily . Whenever we go out, he will sweat so come back must bathe . Even I carry him in konny, his heat transfer will make my chest sweat and wet, and his shirt will be soaked in sweat. I wanted to purchase other carrier now as the konny is making my shoulders painful. But the materials seems to be too hot for him. When going out, I let him wear sleeveless or cotton tshirt, nice clothes or branded clothes all can’t wear cause he sure sweat

She would struggle and cry each time I try to latch her. My nipples cracked badly and started bleeding too.. so I started using nipple shield whenever I latch her on.. Now she rejects my nipple and struggles whenever I try to latch her directly to my nipple.. :( Qnz Isit okay to let her continue using nipple shield whenever she latch? Will this decrease my milk supply? How often should I pump and how long should I pump each session? Currently I pump for about 30 mins each breast but only able to yield about 50mls in total? What can I do to increase my milk supply?

2020-01-11u can call me names or that i’m ungrateful but i’m really so tired. of breastfeeding of being stuck in a never ending routine of feeding, changing, trying to make baby sleep and repeat and repeat AND REPEAT while covered in sweat, puke and even pee. when will baby stop feeding every 2-3 hours? even when mixed feeding baby still demands feeding frequently. when will my nipples stop hurting like razor blades cutting into me? (FYI baby latches correctly but i’m just so sore still) and don’t tell me to “nap when baby naps”. easier said than done. baby takes up to 2hours to sleep after feed and then after washing bottles etc, it’s time to breastfeed again. i don’t even have time to pee let alone eat at times. and i do have help but some things nobody can help me. it goes on 24/7. i’m falling sick too. srsly anybody else feels this way like me??
2020-01-11Hi! I am 10 weeks today. Had a lot of conflicting information from doctor and nurses and friends and networks on supplements. What do u follow? Taking folic acid 500mg/day through Blackmore prenatals (which included vitamins) since week 5, gynae says only folic acid needed for first trimester Since week 9, was asked to take fish oil/ DHA. Got pregnancy fish oil from gynae but they cost a bomb and no idea if the normal fish oil would be good enough. Heard that fish oil was only needed for trimester 3 but also learnt from others that they take it throughout. Wondering if I should be just taking my Blackmore throughout my pregnancy with fish oil. Will there be any issues if folic acid is taken in second /third tri since they come tgt in Blackmore? Any folic acid overdose problem? I learnt about obimin but was not given any. What about pregnancy milk? Are they needed? I am not a milk drinker so I take it through my kopi -C siew dai.... Advice anyone? Thanks!!!

Transition From Sippy Cup / Straw Or 360 Miracle Cup which can drink itself. And any product to recommend? Tried nuk learner sippy cup, pigeon spout cup but dun think is working.
