2020-05-11How involved are the daddies here in your LO’s day to day? Please describe. Post our first child i see the side of my husband that I do not like more apparently. He still sleeps till post noon everyday day including weekends. Otherwise on the phone or on the couch watching TV. No he does not do shift work - he is self-employed and his time is flexible. His thought is since we have a helper we can be hands off totally and involved only when needed. I totally disagree - we hired a helper as we need help with chores and LO since nobody can help us when we are working. But when we are not working we should be involved as much as possible. He also likes to do irritating stuff like feed our food to LO at dinner time knowing it will disrupt her eating her food during meals - by disrupt I mean LO will refuse to eat her food after etc. Even after telling him a million times not to do so he will still ask me can LO eat this or that (referring to our food). He also likes to react with big actions and sounds which freaks LO out. Kept telling him a million times not to do so as LO refused to go near him for fear of the reactions. He thinks it’s funny and just playing. I don’t know which part of it is not clear to him when he witness the effects himself of LO rejecting him till now at 18mths old!. So far only me and my helper are looking after my LO and for my husband his help is very minimal and more apparent only during my helper’s off days when he has to make milk, fill the bath water. I manage our helper, my LO’s needs at every stage I.e her toys, books, formula milk, clothes, diapers, vaccination, PD appts, parenting forums and tips etc. I feel very distant from him post the birth of our first child and kept thinking I married the wrong person and I don’t need him around if he’s not contributing. I can’t help this feeling. Appreciate any advise from mummies or daddies.

2020-05-11Kid is 2 year 2 months old. His is able to eat by himself at the childcare & at my house, but once he goes to my in law house they want to feed him. Ok is not wrong but he can eat by his own ? Is because they keep want to feed that’s why he starts to not eat by himself when his over there. Is it wrong for me to be upset at them ? Clearly I know my son is more than capable to sit down and eat without television, but because of their actions they are screwing up the things I’m teaching him. And because they are in laws it makes communication even harder. Any mums with any solution ?

2020-05-12Hi, i have been feeding my baby with my breastmilk for 6 months plus. Once or twice, i ever tried to feed him formula. But he doesnt like it, he will gag. If he does drink it, he will vomit the whole formula after 30mins plus.. i have tried nestle lactogen and natureone, same thing, he will gag. I mix formula with breastmilk, same thing he knows it's not the same, so he gags.. i only tried like 1 to 2 days. But poor thing he will vomit it, so i don't dare to try until he likes it.. any advice? It doesn't help that now, my breastmilk supply is low.. i'm trying to increase it back.. of no other way, i will just have to keep trying to save my breastmilk

2020-05-12I just want to find out is it really true that everything that we buy for baby all boils down to baby’s preference? I keep hearing mummies saying milk bottles, baby stroller, baby carrier, baby cot and the list goes on .... all depends on whether baby likes it. If baby don’t like then you have to change it. Is it really true? Or am I the only one thinking that mummies are spoiling babies? How will babies know that there is other choice if let’s say there is only one? Take for instance when we were young I don’t think our parents have much choice of the different brands and there wasn’t even a wide selection.

2020-05-12My LO has very bad rash on her face and wrists. It’s dry, bumpy and scaly. She is drooling a lot too. I tried applying barrier cream, clean with boiled water and moisturise every 2 hour. Seen a doc but I don’t know if it is eczema or drool rash or what? She has just started on solids too. Everyone who sees her will react negatively and ask me to do this and that. 2020-05-12Hi, my Lo is coming to 9 months old. She started eating solids at 5 months plus and she was eating purées and cereals occasionally. Abt 7 months old she started porridge with vege. 8 months old I feed her porridge with fish and tiny bits of meat. She has been eating well but abt 1 to 2 weeks ago, she started to reject her solids by spitting it out. With toys and a lot of coaxing she still only finished half to maximum 3/4 of the usual amt she had been consuming. Why is my Lo rejecting the food and eating lesser than before? 2020-05-13I need advice, My 10 year old boy has ADHD and ODD. Since he was 6 years old. He refuse to study anything. He don’t know his ABC and 1 to 10 at that time and it was very worrying as he is entering into primary school the following year. That is when it all started. He will come out with lies , excuses just to stop studying. Me and my husband push on and he manage to improve and catch up with his peers. But the lies and excuses didn’t stop. Can you imagine Everyday this is happening. And he started stealing money from friends , taking things that does not belong to him. And lie to me saying that his friend gave it to him. He is one smart boy. As he can think of ways to do what he wants and not get caught. Many things happen along the way. A lot of argument between me and my husband as well as there are many disagreements. I’m the soft one and he is the one that is very strict. He has to change school because he had trouble keeping friends and the teacher didn’t have the patience to handle a boy like him as well. As he is not attentive in class and he distracts other pupils as well. He is always put to the back. But my husband and me never fail to make sure he follows up on the subjects which is why my son doesn’t have the time to play during weekends. As he is always busy catching up with study work. Right now in primary 4 he is starting to show his displeasure. He will try his best to delay his time. He acts like he is studying but in fact he is not. - Problem -lies to avoid what he doesn’t want to do -excuses so he can do what he wants which it is not good for him -laziness What we have tried - rewards -encouragement -explanation -spending more time on him. -counselling Do you have other ideas ?

My LO is 3m+ now and I realised most of the booties are newborn sizes which are unable to fit him. I tried to search online just for booties and hoping to find bigger sizes but to no avail. Do u still let your LO wear booties at 3mo or they do not need to wear anymore? In this case what should they wear for their feet for 3mo and above? 2020-05-14My LO is almost 9 wks old, recently we have trouble putting him to sleep in the day. He easily wake up when we put him down, and even he can sleep, it only lasts for a few minutes. I have tries 4s ( setting, swaddle, shush - pat, sitting ) by Hogg's Baby Whisperer. But doesn't work. He would struggle if swaddled, and fuss... he will only sleep longer when carried. Plus he likes to put his fist in his mouth, I have tried giving him pacifier but he doesn't like it, and sometimes it confuses me on his feeding/sleeping cues... Any suggestion ?

LO just went for second vaccination at TMC at 3.5mth old, but PD only ask simple questions such as if baby is smiling, laughing, making different sounds and is lifting heads up during tummy time that’s all. But didn’t do any activities on the spot such as holding his hands and try to see if baby can lift up himself and etc.

2020-05-15My 18-month old is very small for his age. While his head is almost off the charts at 98th percentile, his weight is 30th percentile and height is only 3rd percentile! He hasn’t put on weight or height in 3-4 months at least! Cognitively he is very advanced. Says over 100 words. Physical development was much slower however. Should I be worried he isn’t growing? His eating seems OK to me although he doesn’t like cow’s milk.

I tried changing diaper, carry walk around, feed milk and make warm, apply ruyi oil, sang songs to him he stopped crying for awhile but continue again..tried all these to make him stop crying but to no avail. He is supposed to drink milk but kept crying. Eventually after 2 hrs baby cry until hungry and after feeding slept on the bed when usually he only sleep in the electronic cradle. Not sure is it daddy told him he is going out as my baby cry just right after daddy goes out ? p.s. daddy is the main caregiver. If nothing can calm baby..how do u calm a crying baby?

All along she is taking care by my helper ard 3 mths until now.But this one week my LO refuse for her carry and cry very badly. When I carry her, she stop crying and smile at me. 2020-05-16I am asthmatic and have been having asthma for about 2-3 weeks. I read that honey is a good remedy for asthma. Initially I ate honey for 3 days in the morning and at night. I began to feel better. However, I then found out I'm pregnant. If I'm 5 weeks pregnant, is it safe to continue eating honey? If so, what specific ones as I'm not sure if the honey that I'm eating is pasteurized or raw. And I'm starting to have blocked nose. I read that it comes with the first few weeks of pregnancy. What can I eat to help me with this? I am currently using breathe easy patch and breathe right patch to help me breathe. As this is my first pregnancy, I'm not sure if these are okay for me.

2020-05-16Hi mummies. I just wanna share here and seek your opinions on this issue I have that's probably lingering around me for very long. I got married at the age of 15 and had a baby that is totally taken care of by my ex mil and I rarely get to see my baby..plus my ex mil is very violent and her words hurt so much each time she speaks to me...for 10 yrs I have barely seen my child as he stays over there with her so finally one day I divorced with my hub as we r facing issues. literally like when I wanna c my child, it's always based on her schedule because is either she wanna bring him out or his family occasion or she's mad at me so she doesn't wan me to c him. Anyway, I managed to fight for my child and now I have the custody to him. But because of this issue I had w my ex mil, now that I remarried a yr ago to a very caring and loving hub, I feel that the fear still stays in me. I tried convincing myself that my mil now is a very nice person to us and she'll never treat me like how my ex mil would. I even pray to God and went to temple to let my heart fully open up so that I can remove this fear but somehow it just seems to be only open halfway. My mil now is caring but because we stay at our own place, she is very emo, she will cry and complaint to my hub that she misses her son and try a lot of ways to ask him go back to c her. I'm fine with it but at times I just find it annoying. She will purposely cook dishes that my hub loves to entice him n goes back. & Sometimes my hub will be very soft hearted n goes there to c her. Now she attempts to make us visit her once a month when my fil is on leave. I find it unacceptable becos who really has the time on wkends to visit once a mth when the time left during wkends are so little to do so many things at home or as a family. Of cos now is CB so she gets even more upset. But the point here is that because now that we have a baby, I'm so scared for my baby to be close to my husband's family especially my mil. I can feel the fear is overwhelming me at times. Can someone pls share w me how can I deal w it or is anyone in the same situation as me? I really wish I can make myself feel better. Help.

2020-05-16When your husband is in camp while you have to come and stay w your in law every weekend. You ask a kid to sit down on a chair with a Low table and expect him to eat comfortably? You give a 2 year old plates instead of bowl ? You insist to want to feed him until today you decided to let him eat so I told you what you were doing is wrong so you use my method and claim that he doesn’t want to sit at the dinning to eat ? First of all, you guys don’t even get him to sit at the dinning area to eat for the whole time his on solid but expect him to do it like “now” but come complaining say he doesn’t wants to?? Lol what? The use of toilet, my FIL dont even know how to aim properly keep aiming the sit and does not even wipe it clean after using it. My in law (idk which) use toilet paper like 1 lump & dump it in to the toilet bowl causing it to stuck ? Don’t they know how unhygienic or how It will screw up the toilet bowl ? Anyone able to advise how do I handle it. If I were to say something they will think I’m being fussy or making a big fuss because previously I told my FIL not to smoke in the house when my kid is around & like is a big thing lol.
