2020-04-06Dear mummies, Is anyone sending your baby to infant care and the centre insist on paying the full monthly fee for April despite the centre closure for 1 month? If my child is in preschool and has home based learning by the teacher I don't mind paying for the fee. But my baby is only 3+ months old and home based learning is definitely not suitable at her age and yet teacher insist parent to pay full fee for the month. To be honest, it is hard to justify. The school said they will setup live interaction to sing and telling story to the infant half an hour every week. I don't think my LO can even sit 5 minutes still in front of the screen. Very disappointed with this no school fee refund rule for infant care.

2020-04-07Yesterday my partner and I had a fight and he said something that really hurt and demotivated me. Recently, I have been more open to learning about abuse, racism, sexism and more. I've been trying to educate myself about this kind of things because I have experienced most of that issues personally. I've been advocating anti abuse, sexism and racism because it also helps me to start writing again, especially now that it is for a positive cause instead of me always writing about my depressing life. I always aspired to be a writer and not only does this help me to learn how to cope with my past, it also helps me to move forward. Honestly, I'm the kind of person who doesn't care about a lot of things back in the past. I was very judgemental, I couldn't care a damn thing about anyone or anything. Because of that, my partner called me a hypocrite for suddenly starting to care. He said I was acting like a smarty pants for trying to learn about all this and educating him as much as I can about it. This really demoralised me to be a better person and to pursue my recently opened passion for writing again. It makes me feel like I should just go back to not caring about anything anymore. What saddens me the most is that we are both about to be parents to our baby boy otw and if he thinks I'm a hypocrite for trying to learn about abuse, sexism and racism, I think our mindset on raising our kid is different. Idk what to do or feel anymore. Maybe I should just stick to being a bad person and not care. Sigh

2020-04-07Hi all My baby 8 months old refused to eat veggies + rice / cereal. He will only it when theres fruit puree added to it. Is this okay to mix both veggies and fruit into his porridge? I feel so stressed because my mil keep saying to just force feed him with veggies only in his porridge. I tried to give him just that but he will vomit and will cry. End up won’t eat at all. He could turn his head well and respond to sudden loud sound but seldom look at us when we call him. Any mummies experience this? Also we were referred to NUH for further check up but the earliest appt is in July. Am worried that it will cause developmental delay by then if there is really a prob with my LO's hearing. 2020-04-07Is it OK to continue using the bottle if it turns yellow? Only been using for 2.5 months and it turned yellow. Using Dr Brown's currently. Suspect its due to the heat from uv sterilizer as I have tendency to reheat the empty bottles in them after every wash of every other bottles. Currently lo has 7 bottles which I wash all at once at the end of the day. But sometimes when has some free time, will washed a few first and put it in to the sterilizer to sterilize and heat to dry together with the rest of the bottles that has been dried and sterilised. Is that OK? Will it cause any chemicals to seep out from the bottles or something?

2020-04-08Hi Mummies, I had met my gynae earlier today, and she had checked my cervix dilation and was told 2 - 3cm..i was given a plan to induce when Im 38 weeks as baby has some complication. She also mentioned that my baby looks compact (when she measure and felt my tummy, not sure whats that mean, probably no space for the baby I guess!) As I was nervous thinking about all these, i forgotten to ask doc some question like mucus plug etc. So on my way to taxi cab, i already felt pain below tummy area and back pain when walking..probably cause of my big bod and the weight I carried, just my guessing.. Reached home, went to toilet and saw a blood at my pad. Not sure if it is consider mucus plug or just a one time blood after the doc check. Should i wait till I had contraction? Or went down to hosp back? Thanks alot!

2020-04-09Still thinking what to cook and my girl told me she want curry lol Curry chicken Paste can buy from NTUC any kinds of curry paste or curry devil paste need more salt add sugar Ingredient Chicken curry 1kg Cabbage - 1/2 Eggs - 4 hard boil Potato-500g Tomato if you don’t want too hot 1 to 2 Water -300ml UHT milk -400ml I add cooking cream Salt - 1/2 tea spoon mustard seeds- 1 table Dry chili padi 5 to 6 pics if for kids don’t add Chili powder- 1 and 1/2 table for kids don’t add Onion -2 Garlic -6 Ginger - 1/2 Curry powder 3 table Cumin seed powder 1 tea spoon Turmeric powder 1 tea spoon Anise 3 Cumin seed 1 tea spoon clove 4 to 5 cinnamon 2 small stick 1 meithi seed tea spoon DIRECTIONS 1. Add all the ingredients for the spice paste into a food processor and puree until smooth. Set the paste aside. 2. Heat the oil olive in a wok, and add the mustard seeds. Cook until you hear a slight popping sound from the mustard seeds. Add garlic , ginger and onions fry till golden brown 3. Add the chicken and the spics paste coating it well with the spice paste. Let it cook for few mins and then add in cabbage exclude potato Stir to combine well. 4. Pour in enough water and milk to just cover the chicken about 15mins time add in the potato Lower the heat cook for 20 - 30mins until the potato are soft last add in egg 5. Add in the salt To serve, dish the curry into a bowl and garnish with coriander. Serve with warm rice or bread

2020-04-09Hi mummies, Need some advice here. My little one is going to be 5 months old soon and I wanted to start sleep training for him. Wanted to use Ferber method but I am met with some challenges which I am not sure if most babies are like that or just my LO only. 1. He just learnt to roll over. So whenever we put him down to pat him to sleep, he will roll over. If we stop him from doing it, he will cry out really loud and insists on turning over. Hence step 1 of sleep training failed. Does anyone’s baby like to roll over as long as put onto bed? 2. When baby finally able to fall asleep, we thought it’s ok already and walked out of the room. But minutes later, he will scream and yell on top of his voice suddenly. Ferber’s method said wait before going in to pat him. The problem here is, he is screaming and if wait too long, he will cry until cough and till voice hoarse. No use patting him coz he won’t calm down. We need to pick him up. Though picking him up and rocking him and using soft soothing voice reassuring him, he still scream and cry ?. I do not know why he will scream and yell suddenly even though he is tired and wanting to sleep. Does anyone’s baby having the same problem? How do u calm baby down? Thanks in advance. Need some help to make sure I am sane.

2020-04-10I’m a FTM, currently in wk 32 and my baby is not in breech position. I have risk of pre eclampsia and also GD and thus my gynae wanted to induce at wk38. She explains to me the induce process & the risk that may happen during the labour that may lead to e csect. So, I’m in a dilemma whether I shld try induce or opt for elective csect (as there’s is so many “what if” that can happen during the labour). I would like to hear ur experience of induce and also ur advice . Thank you . Update: 31/5/21: I had pre eclampsia at wk34, warded for 2 weeks, induced at wk36. From induce to give birth is 12hours. I guess I was lucky. My baby is alrd 1yo now ☺️

2020-04-10Hello, My wife is having low lying placenta which was found during the FA scan around 20 weeks. Now she is 24 weeks and doing good. However, I am still afraid that if the low lying placenta will be bothering us so much during the later stage of Pregnancy. Will there be a risk involved. If so, how much care do we need to take ?? 2020-04-10Ever since my little one has been born, I made it a point that no one should enter the room when it comes to bed time. So my fiancé sometimes will come in and be quite loud and I have scolded him a few times for it. Then one day, before he goes in, he stops himself and tells my mum "I better not go in otherwise Diane will shout at me again. 2020-04-11I was busy preparing for dinner in the kitchen for the whole family when my baby cried. The baby was not crying continuously. My husband was in the living room playing game on his handphone. His father came by and said twice very loudly :"wah, noone cares for you ah." I heard already very upset. I am busy and not shaking my legs doing nothing. What does he meant by noone cares for my baby? This is not the first time he said such thing. Usually I close my ears and ignore him but am afraid one day I cannot take it and will tell him off. I am also angry with my husband for not doing what he should, giving other people a chance to shoot us.And if my fil wants to say, shouldnt he shoot his son instead?

2020-04-11I'm not sure why but my LO currently at 11 weeks old suddenly rejects milk. It's the longest time so far at 6 hours of her without a feeding. She had sufficient milk intake today at 730ml but at 8.15pm. Decided to give her a some milk before bedtime at 10.30pm which she rejected too (usually she will cry for milk for every 2 hours unless bedtime which she will drag 4 hours). Then at 1am, wanted to dream feed her before we go to sleep, she only drank 30ml (that's 5 hours stretched alr). She's super duper sleepy since 9pm after bathtime and KO after that. Should I try to dream feed at 3am later on? Took her temperature this afternoon and its 37.2 degrees. Before bedtime at 1am its 36.2 degrees but still, she doesn't want any milk ?
