- 2020-03-09My 3 month old been struggling alot lately when drinking milk. It starts out fine then when we stop her halfway to burp, trouble begins. She will yell and arch her back refuse to let us sit her up to burp. I usually then either carry her upright over my shoulder which she calms down or continue to try feeding her. Sometimes she carries on drinking but not without pulling away from the bottle after a few sucks and yell and arch back again until slowly coax her to finish. At times after struggling for some time she will cry n cry, get tired and fall asleep without finishing the bottle. On good times she will finish after like 30-45mins. What's going on? Is the teat too slow for her? I'm using 0+ and 1m+ teat now should I upsize?

- 2020-03-09Hello mummies, my baby is coming to 3 months. Yesterday my milk supply was alright but suddenly this morning I can no longer feel my engorgement and breast suddenly feel soft.
No more leaking and when I pump I can only get less than half than what I normally get.
Does it mean that my milk supply has drop?
Like how come sudden one night can change so much in my milk supply.
I don’t really pump, mostly latch on demand.
Just worried that my baby won’t get enough.
I’ve read that could be many possibilities like pregnant, menses will be coming back, stress, tired, lack of water, not eating enough or maybe my breast is already regulate to the amount that my baby needs.
So my baby usually poops 3-5 times a day.
Is that the only way to tell whether is my baby getting enough milk?
What can I do to make sure I have enough or slightly more for my baby? Power pump? Or increase my pump after latching baby?
Thanks in advance!

- 2020-03-09One of my MILs friend visited our house last week to see our baby, I was quite offended when she made a comment that my baby was so "skinny", as a mom it kinda made me think if I'm feeding her well enough. Bub was healthy but a small baby when she was born and every TCU I always check with the doctor if her BMI is normal. She's gaining normally though. Anyone facing the same situation here?

- 2020-03-09Anyone faces this issue as well?
My MIL is constantly telling me and everyone else that my LO ( 5mths old) wants/needs our helper.
For example, if she's crying and I'm carrying to soothe her. MIL would carry her away from me and pass her to our helper, saying that LO wants/needs her..
It's making me feel like a bad Mother as if I'm not being able to soothe my own LO.

- 2020-03-09Is there a growth spurt during 7 weeks of age?
I found my newborn been sleeping more and instead of drinking her fm of 100ml on regular basis, she's only drinking 30-50ml and only 1 feed is at 100ml throughout the whole day. And probably due to less milk intake, she didn't poop (she poops once daily).
And I realized she's extremely sleepy. She would reject the bottle and with a few rock, she fell asleep right away.
Is she going through a growth spurt now?

- 2020-03-10Hi mummies, I went down to a particular govt childcare and the staff told me to apply thru ECDA. I login to apply but cannot. Their website is not user friendly. It’s so frustrating!! I called up another private centre to enquire and their reply is like “don’t bother applying cause we don’t have a slot for u”. How do u guys apply? I’m so tired of hunting for a school and it doesn’t help at all that most/all centre that I call up no slot. It’s so ridiculous that the govt want to boost the fertility rate but we working parents don’t have much support. ?

- 2020-03-10Sakit terus beserta kebawa pinggul sebelah kanan,

- 2020-03-10Hi mummies! I'm a first time mum and my LO is 10 weeks old now. I alternate between latching on demand and bottle feeding EBM. My LO has been throwing a fuss with bottle and refuses to drink from it. The most she only takes about 20-30mls then stops drinking. I have tried getting hubby and my mum to feed with the bottle but baby still struggles to drink. I was using avent natural, avent anti-colic and now have switched to hegen bottle too. She was okay with the hegen bottle for the past few weeks.. till last week she started refusing this bottle too.. I also notice that she has alot of gas. I am returning to work next month and I need to source a suitable feeding bottle for her asap.
Any suggestions for feeding bottles?
How to know if a teat is slow flow, medium flow etc and how to assess which type of teat she will need?
Thanks in advance for all your suggestions!! ?
- 2020-03-10Does anyone feel disconnected with your husband after your LO is here? I feel very disconnected with my husband. I thought he would be a hands on dad after our LO is here especially when we only conceived after IVF. Unfortunately, he feels that since both me and my helper are taking great care of her there’s no need for him to do so. He only plays with her for short periods of time since our LO will naturally only choose me or my helper when we are around. I have a stressful full time job and need to manage the household and take care of all LO needs eg: what she needs at each stage, clothes, shoes, diapers, weaning items, food etc etc. I cant help but feel that having a husband is redundant and why did I get married? I didn’t get married to take care of another grown child. He is so lazy that he sleeps till past noon even on weekends and does not even buy lunch for us. Most of the time I’m the one doing it. On my helper’s off day he doesn’t bother to wake up early to help, only when I call him then He wakes. When he prepared milk and food and even that he is lost and must as how to do so. He doesn’t even know what pillow LO uses. I’ve asked him to take up a driving license to get a car since I got pregnant now that my LO is already 16mths old his license is still nowhere in sight! I just feel his laziness & heck care attitude totally disgusts me. And if I can do everything myself why do I need a redundant leech who contributes nothing? I can’t help feeling this way and I feel that I’ve nothing much in common with him anymore. What do I do? The last time we spoke about this he feels that there’s nothing wrong with his attitude so I’m done talking to him. Feel sick and tired.

Some things I’ve done / thought about: I already bought the 30-day pre-packaged herbs from laobanniang, which my husband will help to prepare. - 2020-03-11I am really really sick of having to be fighting for my feelings when it comes to my own pregnancy. My first pregnancy and I'm not married however me and my partner stayimg together. My partner's mother is always seeking for attention and creating such problems that her son is not talking to her or visiting her that often and causing me and my partner to have so much of arguments because she sometimes blames me for taking her only son away from her. Now that I'm pregnant she wants to follow for my appointments and I really just need my partner there and ended up in an argument with my partner where he said I am ungrateful for not letting is mother follow. Seriously I am so furious and upset that he puts his mother feelings over mine when it comes to my pregnancy. I am the type of person who does not go out or have any close friends and have no one else to talk to. I just feel so sick sometimes and depressed.

- 2020-03-11Hi I'm at week 36. I've been getting brownish discharge since week 35, it was clear after and then today it is brownish again (but lighter than week 35's discharge). 2 days ago I did had my cervix check so week 36's discharge could be due to the check(?) but at week 35 I hadn't had any appointment at all.
Anyway I called the delivery suite the nurse said it was fine as long as no bright red blood and baby is moving.
Anyone has any idea if this could be mucous plug? I really wonder what it is. Attached photos are my discharge since week 35. When I asked the gynae my previous appointment what it could she also couldn't really answer lol so I'm wondering any mummies has experienced something similar before.

- 2020-03-11Hi mums, I’m diabetic and at week 25 of pregnancy. I am supposed to be seeing a diabetic specialist at KKH (which they get from TTS for patients that are under subsidy). But due to the DORSCON Orange situation right now, no doctors are allowed to visit other hospitals to consult.
As a result, I haven’t seen a diabetic specialist for 2 months now, and I’m not sure if I need to start insulin soon or what...
Anyone got suggestions on how I can see a diabetic specialist without paying private practice prices?
- 2020-03-11Hello mummies, I am now on my 9th week and this is my first pregnancy. So I'm basically still new to all this and I much needed advices or tips from the pro mummies out there ?
As usual, morning sickness. But here's the thing, I wasn't given medications for it due to my drug allergies. So mummies out there can share any tips on how to avoid/cure the nauseating/dizziness? It gotten so bad till I was forced quit my job. I know it's ridiculous, but I'm left with no choice. They told me to leave as I can't 'control' my morning sickness ? also, is it normal to like not have appetite to eat always? My tummy at times do feel 'tight' and bloated. And let's not forget about the 'uncomfortable' feeling. I've already prepared to ask my Gynae these questions during my first check up, but unfortunately the consultation was super fast and I didn't get to ask anything! My next appointment with her will be end of this month and hopefully I'll get to lay out these questions to her.
And before I forget, is cockles bad for pregnancy? I crave for cockles and right after eating them, I started throwing up for 3 days! It was (quite) bad. I went to a&e that night and so far the doc didn't tell me that I can't eat cockles (or maybe he probably forgotten that I ate that) but instead, he told me that I have stomach flu and that my potassium is low after the blood test result is out. Low potassium? How bad is it for pregnant women? Help a sister out if you can. Thank you ?
- 2020-03-11I'm at week 33 now. I went for my mandatory ultrasound scan at week 31, I was told that my baby's head is smaller than usual. Doctor told me to come back at week 33 to redo the scan. I went back today and the ultrasound still shows that the baby head is smaller than average. The doctor adviced for me to go back in a week's time. He mentioned that baby is hiding deep under my pelvic bone that's why it's difficult to see and the size might have been under estimated. Just want to check with all the other mothers out there if you have encountered similar situation? What are some of the possible consequences for babies having a smaller head?
- 2020-03-11Mummies, how do you know when you can resume normal exercise regime (including ab work)?
I have ab separation and have been doing post natal pilates and barre classes and avoiding ab work. But I don’t know how long it takes before I can resume normal classes rather than postnatal classes. I’m 4 months pp now.
And for those who says gynae to advise, my gynae does not advise; she didn’t even help me check for ab separation and said I can easily check it myself.
Dying to get fit again.
- 2020-03-11Will u postpone lo appointment at hospital due to current virus outbreak? My lo has 1 kkh appt in May and another in Aug.
- 2020-03-11I have a newborn and his brother is two years apart. My elder child will find any opportunity to beat his younger brother whether the adults are around or not around. I have explained to him that the newborn is his brother and must care of him but maybe he is too young to understand. He will grab his younger brother's clothes, throw something at him and violent towards him. When will he understand and not to treat his brother that way. Is too dangerous to leave them alone even for a second.
- 2020-03-11Hi mummies. Did all of you receive an appointment for your 6 week post-birth check up? I've given birth in December and up till now no appointment given. Called KKH many times and all they do is say they'll get back to me. Before I gave birth my doctor said she'll arrange an appointment for my 6 weeks check up & IUD insertion on the same day. Kindly advise. TIA.

- 2020-03-12Hi all peeps, I would like to share my conceiving process and I hope it helps. We have been trying it officially for 2 months. (Best to have intercourse every 2days) I did quite a numbers of homework and I have signed up for the talk @ ilovechildren event. They do have a talk annually to guide couple on how to conceive and how to take care of babies. Link : https://ilovechildren.sg/ you guys can go read up on the website which they guide you through on how to get pregnant and what are the things that you need to check. Example, go for fertility check for both(husband & wife) , my advise is that you should try naturally for a few months up to a year before you go for fertility check but if u do have irregular period, please go directly for a check up and get advise from the doctor to solve the issue(you may try TCM too).
Things that we did and consume :
**Supplement**
Female : Folic acid is a must and you should start taking at least 1 month in advance before trying to conceive (you can get it at any pharmacy. The brand that I took : Blackmores Conceive Well Gold
Male : Blackmores Multivitamin(Men's Performance Multi)
**Period/Ovulation Tracking App**
1. Use app to track your period and ovulation days(Suggested app : my calendar, flo). I have attached with the cycle chart to calculate and estimate your ovulation day. You can give it a try but do test with the ovulation kit early to find out the exact day. It a must to have intercourse before and after ovulation to have higher chance of conceiving.
**Ovulation strip/kit*
2. Purchase the ovulation test strip/test kit(you can find the strip online at Lazada, Shopee or Qoo10) if you want it fast you may get the test kit from any pharmacy. I get it from pharmacy first while waiting for the strips to be delivered.
Once the ovulation kit gets positive, have intercourse straight away. (Typically ovulation lasts 12 to 24 hours, and for some, it can last up to 48hours.) Guide : Ovulation strip/kit test it twice per day, morning and night near your fertile days or start testing a few days before actual ovulation.
**Intercourse frequency**
3. 2-3days to have intercourse(missionary position) sometimes you do feel tired and no mood for it and there this brand do help to enhance the intercourse, increases and support sperms mobility (Brand : Pre-seed)
**Posture after intercourse**
4. Lift your leg up high and lean against the bed for about 30min for the sperm to flow in. (advise from YouTube video) if you don't plan to try lifting leg up, you can place a small pillow at the butt to lift your butt higher for 30min or rest 30min before visit the washroom.
Wish all Couple good luck and hope you will get good news soon after trying my method.
All the best?!

- 2020-03-12So I chanced upon a YouTube video about this 'mysterious 30ml' whereby babies leaving the extra 30ml, always at 30ml of leftover milk (mine happens 7 out of 8 feeds a day ?)
For example, when I make 90ml of milk, she will consume 60ml (left over 30ml), if I make 120ml of milk, she will consume 90ml (left over 30ml too)
Since she always leftover 30ml, I've decided to make 120ml during all her meals so she will consume sufficient of 90ml in a single feeding ?
Any mummy experienced this?

- 2020-03-12I’m entering my 3rd trimester. 7 months 4 days today. What is the reason I am having heartburns at 3rd tri? I had few episodes of it during 1st tri.
- 2020-03-12It all started with people congratulating you on your pregnancy, and probably some were playing guessing games of your baby gender.
With you imagining all sorts of possibilities in the future and probably thinking, oh well, I still have a few months to prepare for childbirth & the arrival of the baby.
And then when the date gets nearer, anxiety starts to pick on you. What if there is complication during labour? What if I really needed an epidural? Will there be side effects? Or should I opt for a cesarean. Oh wait, how is the hospital bill size like? How much will be deductable through my medisave? Or how about my husband's medisave instead?
Apart those thoughts above, your nesting instincts sets in. You began to prepare for the arrival of your little one. Baby cot, clothes, nappy rash cream, milk pump. Oh milk pump! Will I have sufficient milk supply?
Many thoughts run through your mind. A mixture of joy, excitement in meeting a new member of the family, but also, somewhat deep down in there, anxiety of the procedure of labour.
And then the baby arrives.
Everyone congratulates you again. You're proud of yourself. And fell so deeply in love with your baby. Everything seems so perfect in the hospital, with gifts and beautiful wishes from people around you.
And here's the part you thought your nightmare has ended but its not.
Pregnancy can be a tough journey, how about motherhood?
Your body needed the rest. Everything seems like a blur at the beginning. Confused, joy, trying to learn to handle a newborn, worries and probably also feeling some pain from the wound.
You realized there's so many things about newborn. The amount of milk for consumption, whether your supply is enough. Are you latching correctly? Is the baby eating enough? Whats with the spit-ups, is that normal? Oh jaundice, lots of research on Google that prevents or helps with jaundice.
Is the baby drinking correctly? If not whats with the milk all over his/her mouth? Oh wait, is it the milk flow is too fast from the teats?
Hold on, colic? Any remedy? Ridwind, gripe water? Anything!
Reflux? Ger or Gerd? Is it serious?
Will the upcoming 1 month old vaccine cause fever in my baby?
And then you realized you're waking up every 2-3 hours for feeding. And sometimes wonder if they are taking enough naps for the brain development.
And not forgetting the suitability of formula milk (for non bf moms). Changing tins and tins to ensure the suitable formula which doesn't cause diarrhea, colic, spit ups, rejection of the bottle etc.
All these thoughts running through your mind, with probably 2-5 hours of sleep every nights.
It's tiring, really. And apart from that, due to lack of sleep, you started to forget this and that. Oh and postpartum hairloss, what the heck is that? Will that cause bald spots?
But to be honest, even with all these thoughts, we still do it without any regrets. Probably complaints, and... Maybe a little regrets deep in our heart somewhere (haha), but still, we do it all just for our little one.
And all we hope for, is for them to grow up healthily, happy and of course to bring them up as a kind individual, bringing joy and smiles to the world.
All these, just for our children.
And because we are a mom.
With love,
V

So far no blood nor any further cramps after. Just bloated as usual. I’m at 8 weeks and wanna know if it’s gonna affect the baby in any way. I’m absolutely petrified it can cause miscarriage. ?

- 2020-03-14Do I sound unreasonable by probably hitting a bar or club and have some drinks while partying for a night? I really really really need a break! But I feel guilty if I were to let my hubby take care of our baby in the night while he needs to work the next morning.
But I really need a drink and a fun atmosphere! (not breastfeeding anymore)
Should I go? My baby is 2 months old now. Or should I wait till when my baby can sleep through the night? But I feel that anytime I may go berserk
- 2020-03-14Hi mummies,
If when you're taking care of your baby and there's something you're not sure especially first time mum with no experiences in taking care of kids.
Will you ask Google or ask someone who have experience like your mum, grandmother, great grandmother or relatives nanny etc.?
And will you follow what they teach you or you will still Google and follow half half?
I have experience taking care of babies but I realize recently alot mummies ask Google instead of believing the experience people like someone who brought us up etc.
Ang moh style vs traditional style which style are you?

- 2020-03-14I really don't understand why my in law is so irritating always make me and my hub quarrel. Things I tell them don't do they will purposely do and my hub say I stuck in between.
Can someone tell me am I wrong. What happen is that I'm giving 1 meal to my baby a day only because my Lo is taking I full bowl for lunch and I feel Its quite a bit. There's is small snack through out the day too. Those little puff or biscuits. I told them numerous time my baby now is not even 1yo the main source of food is still breastmilk but they just don't understand. They will purposely know I cook lunch for her they will cook dinner. And they will only cook porridge. As for my thinking is that I don't want my baby to get sick of the same food and start rejecting that food so I will change menu daily. We as a adult lunch eat porridge dinner same thing again we feel sick don't talk about this little one. They will say to my hub I don't want let her eat every time I need quarrel. And somemore I don't like baby to eat stuff that is cold I told them so many time they don't bother. The porridge they cook they can just leave it there until its cold then give my Lo.
And everytime they will buy stuff without asking like wet tissue toys milk bottle etc. I understand they dote their grand child but so many things they buy is not the stuff my Lo will use or not the one I wanted to get. So I tell my hub this thing is not safe or useless. Next time ask them ask before buying. They will tell my hub I don't let my Lo use what they buy and we quarrel again.
My in law is killing my marriage I really don't know why they are so stubborn! And worst I talk to them they don't feel is their issue. They even tell my hub everything is my issue.
Can someone tell me what issue do I have?
