2019-01-21My son just turned 6 months yesterday, and I'm about to start him on step 2 formula milk. I have some samples of various step 2 milk. I do plan to stick to just one type, but before that, I'm wondering if it's okay for him to try the different samples first to find one that suits him most. Will it be harmful to him to switch between the different brands?
2019-01-21I'm devastated. I think I'm pregnant. I wish I am. My first day of last menses was on the 14th November 2018. Till today, I'm about 9w5d pregnant. But on the 16th Jan 2019, I went for my first check-up at KKH. They claim they can't find the "baby" via scan. So they schedule me for another scan on the 31st. I'm scared, nervous, worried......... But I do not have any pain, cramp, spotting, bleeding and such. Anyone been through this before? p/s. I had a unnecessary caesarean on the April 2018. p/ss. My last two menses (sept-oct 2018) was irregular.

2019-01-23A former MOE teacher, Lenny Rehman, has hit out at parents who don’t teach their kids to read. In a Facebook post she expressed her disappointment at the fact that, “In this day and age that there are kids in p1 who DO NOT KNOW HOW TO READ.” Clarifying that she wasn’t referring to special needs kids, Lenny reveals that, “They cannot even recognize simple sight words such as "he", "she", "it", "the", "is".” She asks why parents can't spend a few minutes every day to teach their children how to read. Reading is one of the most essential skills they can teach their children, she says. “You CANNOT spare 30 mins every day to read to/with your child?! Wouldn't or rather SHOULDN'T you as parents want your kids to have a better life than you did?!?” And she has a strong word of advice for parents who are too busy working and don’t have the time to spend - “Don’t have kids.” “Busy working but you CANNOT spend time with your kid? Then why have kids in the first place?!” “BTW, reading IS a basic necessity besides food, clothes, shelter. Depriving your child of basic education, is depriving your child of a better future”, she says. This will help increase their vocabulary and expose them to new words. -Make your reading sessions interactive. Talk to your kids a lot and ask them questions. The best way to learn a language, is to hear it a lot. -Teach phonics or letter sounds. Kids are usually ready to learn phonics when they are 4-5 years old. Once they can grasp the concept of joining these sounds to form a word, reading becomes fun and easy! -Teach them sight words. Sight words are those which don’t follow the laws of phonics, and which the child is required to memorise by sight, so they can recognise them immediately. They include words like “who”, “the”, “he”, “does”, “their”, “me”, “be” etc Mums and dads, do share how you taught your children to read!

My MIL has invited me and my child for reunion CNY dinner and to go visiting. Dont tell me Mummy out there feel happy or awakard?? 2019-01-23I am not closed to my in-laws. I am a divorcee almost 2 years. Ex-Husb no where to be found. My child is not closed to my In-law side. If my in-law invite me for CNY, i will consider to go. But if they dont invite me; do i still to attend such thing? If we are invited, may i know how much red packet $$ do you give your In-Law?? Do you just give to one person or both?? Need some clarifications as i dont usually give, only my ex husband give when i was with him, for me i love baking; so i bring lots of goodies and oranges.

If they dont invite, do i and my child must attend?? How much hong pao do i need to give to them and little childrens?? If i go only reunion dinner, is it ok to give hong pao to in law, oranges and goodies? Why i asking because i dont wish to attend rest of the days. I am not closed to them where my child is also scared most of the time when they come and visit my child once every 2 months?? Hong pao how much i give, as i am the only breadwinner for my child. I just worry it not enough for him, I cannot find the reason what happens to him, everything it find , he can play and active. 2019-01-26PD give augmentin for my 3 yr old because she has insect bite. i gave at 1pm, at around 6plus, i see she has skin rash like red patch. At 10pm she has fever 37.6 (gave her meds for fever) and every 15min i check her temp is less then 37.5. Do i still need to continue tge Augmentin, the PD only opens Monday. Sunday is closed.
