2019-11-11Hi, I have been consuming fish oil by the brand of DHAextra purchase from my gynae. However, I discovered the recent batch of fish oil (manufactured as of July 2019) is very different from what I used to have. The capsules are much smaller and harder and I kinda feel uncomfortable eating it, not too sure if this batch is the same as I had before. Should I feedback to the clinic? On the other hand, do you have recommendation of other fish oil brand that is good to consume during pregnancy? Thanks

2019-11-11Hi, I am reading up about cord blood baking and deciding if I should be donating or storing it. I came across this information on SCBB website “Data have shown most unlikely that the donor should ever need his own cord blood unit as most transplant physicians may not feel that the patient’s own cord blood unit is the best choice. This is because it may already carry the genetic abnormality that led to the blood or immune system failure or cancer in the first place.” Base on the statement above, isn’t it redundant to store baby’s cord blood because it can’t be used since it already carry genetic abnormality? Another question I have is - if choosing to bank it for personal use and *touchwood* something happen to the child at say age 18, aren’t the amount of blood stored from the cord is too little to use on a grown teenager? I am certainly meeting up with agents to speak more about it but meanwhile would like to hear different views and opinions on this platform. Thanks!

2019-11-13Since returning home from hospital, our baby has been cranky at night, doesn't want to sleep despite seeing him yawning. First few nights, whenever we put him down into the cot, he will sleep awhile and cry non-stop. We had fed, checked his diapers and all clear. Some days he would prefer to sleep with the lights on or being carried. He sleeps most of the time in the day. I am tempted to wake him in the day frequently so that he will be tired at night. Is this the right method? And is the above all normal for newborn?

2019-11-14Help me, breastfeeding mummies! My 5 days old bb is refusing to latch. I had given in to top up fm while in the hospital cus I didn’t have much supply initially and I can’t latch him well (short nipples as told by LC) and he kept crying. So after coming home I started to pump out and bottle feed. Now I have the supply but he doesn’t want to latch at all. Once he suckle a few times he will start to cry already. Is there any way to make him latch now? I really hope to direct latch in the long run instead of pumping. Please help!

2019-11-15im gg 27weeks soon. and im living in a rental place with my fiancé. im working part time while he's working a daily paid job. we are struggling financially and my pregnancy came suddenly. i dont blame the baby tbh. so many bills keep coming in due to my school and i had to stop working for 4months last few months ago. now bills are catching up with us. and suddenly my landlord said HIS MUM wants to have back this house, NOT him. hes living with his wife and inlaws. im not blaming him if he wanna give back. but when i read the conversation between him and his mum, shes so mean and not willing to help him at all (she said that exactly) and demanded to give back by next month. im so stress bc thats only the house i have now. its dirt cheap at only 300/month for studio apartment, for us to pay. my edd is next feb. the house is like our stepping stone to build a family while waiting to apply a house. everything is falling apart and im breaking down at work. finding another place is also causing alot financially bc its not cheap honestly for just rental. im so sorry for this long post.

2019-11-16Hi all, i need some advise here. I had missed my period for about 8 to 10 days. Did pregnancy test twice this week (wed and fri) and it turned out to be positive. My last menses was 7th october. However, yesterday ard 2pm theres blood stain which is like the size of 50cent coin. It stopped but ard 8pm, there was brownish stain on my pantiliner. Is this common? Can be 60ml every 3 hours or 20ml-30ml every 2 hour. We brought bb to GP for a quick check , doctor says she is alright. We always burp bb on our chest after every feed . Is it the bottles issues?
