2019-10-21hello mummies, my baby is now almost 8 months old. her bedtime is usually around 9.30pm and she will sleep till 8-9plus in the morning. however for the past 2-3 days she has been waking up at 6plus in the morning and after feeding her, she refused to head back to bed. kept crawling and trying to stand in her bed. she only fall back asleep at around 7plus, and that is cause i put her in the “yao lan”. is there any other ways (already tried carrying her, patting her and she almost fall asleep but then suddenly awake again to play) i can put her back to sleep instead of using the “yao lan” cause i dont want her to get used to it...

2019-10-22Does anyone have issues with parents-in-law? My LO (currently 5 months old) is taken care by my MIL when me and hubby is at work. My MIL used to be a babysitter so she’s quite good at babies. However, she got her own set of pantangs and way of educating the child, which is very different from me. I don’t believe in pantangs at all. She doesn’t believe in what We say when we explain to her. For example, there was once baby did not poo for a week, she got so ganchiong and kept calling over the weekend telling us to try this try that. We already explained to her nicely that this is normal for BF babies but her mindset is stuck with need to poo Everyday blablabla. This is just one example. Another example is, she kept saying baby should start on solids now. Me and my husband’s take is to follow baby’s cues, we don’t have a definite to start solids at 4 months or 6 months. We did try a little puree but feel that baby is not yet ready for it. But MIL keep saying that should start alr. So irritating? Sometimes, this really irritates me and I want to send my baby to infant care instead. Is like, why must I explain what I’m doing to her and why she keep giving suggestions that I don’t want to hear. I have my own style in doing things and parenting. But my hubby refuses as infant care is expensive and he thinks it’ll be better for baby to be under grandma’s care. I do agree with him but I think it’s only for my sanity. ? Does anyone has similar experience?

2019-10-22Hi all mum, I would like to know on how should I mix the feeding for thrawed bm and defrost bm. Currently I pumped around 3 to 4 hrs interval. Have around 400ml exceed each day based on my LO intake. I will freeze about half the quantity and remaining will put in fridge for the next 3 to 4 days feeding. But I will also defrost 1 packet of frozen bm for each day feeding too and my frozen packets are growing everyday. Meaning one day feeding will have 1 packet frozen bm and 2 to 3 packets of ebm that pumped 2 to 3 days ago.Not sure whether this method is correct or not and would like to hear more advices. Thank you.

And when did i introduce? . Mama introduced Joreen to full cream cow’s milk along with breastfeeding when she reached 1 year old. It is more like a nutritious snacking choice for Joreen. The reasons are full cream cow’s milk has a rich levels of protein and calcium which essential for growth and building healthy bones and teeth. The UHT milk is also very convenient to bring out! . Joreen's 1st encounter with full cream fresh milk at 13 months! At first, she rejected it and getting angrier at drinking fresh milk lol my drama baby! But after rest awhile, mama offered the milk to her again, she finished 160ml ? Don't give up, keep offering! Then last month, we did 5 days before ovulation and 2 days before my ovulation. My cycle is always 28 days sometime earlier but cannot be missed on the 28th day itself. My little one is 2 months plus now and I love him more than life itself. I’m a freelance tutor with a couple of enrichment programme companies - as a freelancer, I’m not getting paid for any forms of leave. As for income, currently depending on my husband as I’m not working at the moment. This is personally difficult for me as I am used to being financially independent and not having to depend on others for my disposable income. I applied for a position at MOE (previously I was from MOE too) and it was a success. But recently got an update that the position has limited availability with high number of successful applicants, so MOE had to sieve through the applicants and in the end I didn’t make the cut. That’s one rejection - thought I could start the job after my confinement period. Now I have to start all over again searching for a full-time job in the education sector. My parents told me to stay on working as a freelance tutor so that I could raise my little one (first child, by the way). I wanted to but finance-wise, it is better if I work full-time too as I need to build my CPF for my upcoming BTO, slated to complete in 2-3 years time. Also having a baby is costly and I can’t depend on a single income. Another option is to continue working freelance for one more year before getting a full-time job. Still contemplating with my options. Another factor that contributes to my baby blues is the fact that I am staying with my in-laws at their 3-room flat. They are fine, nothing wrong with them. It’s just that I would highly prefer for my little family to have my own space to raise our child. Staying there means little privacy. My in-laws have two young children, aged 11 and 6 (my husband’s half brothers). They always like to enter our room, climb on the bed to see and play with my baby. Playing with my baby is fine but I’m not okay with them always coming into our room and sitting on our bed, watching our TV. The sucky thing is that my husband is the one who allows it, even encourages it. Our room is very small and really cramped with furniture and baby stuff, and I need my space where I can comfortably lie down and do my own things in my room. I am the kind of person who wants to have her own space at times to unwind and recompose. But with our baby now it’s impossible as they would want to come in and play with him whenever they can. When that happens, I would tell my husband to bring our baby to the living room as I want to lie down on the bed, change clothes, etc, so that they can still play with my little one. Bottom line, I dislike when they keep coming into our room because I believe bedroom is a private space. Due to this, I’m contemplating getting a rental flat with HDB while waiting for our BTO to be ready. But that would add cost to our ever growing monthly expenses - this is possible if I’m back to working full-time (and it goes back to my first issue). Another thing is about breastfeeding. I have had issues with breastfeeding my baby at first. Latching issues. Already saw the lactation consultant. Managed to breastfeed my little one via exclusive pumping (still cannot direct latch as there are latching issues) with supplementation of formula milk, for about two weeks. During my confinement period, I was also in the midst of shifting back to my in-laws (I did confinement at my parents’. No room for myself, hubby and baby. Endured two weeks confinement with no privacy.) as my husband was going back to work after paternity leave. With being busy shifting and adjusting life with baby, my pumping frequency is greatly affected and milk supply totally dipped. By third week, I only pumped once a day and my milk supply was greatly affected (only yield 10-20ml per session). My little one is fully on formula milk ever since. I feel majorly defeated as I failed to provide full breast milk for my baby. Now I hope to relactate but I’m not sure how to. I haven’t pumped or expressed milk for one month plus. I already got my period, not sure if it will affect my ability to relactate. I really hope to at least be able to partially breastfeed my baby, doesn’t matter if it’s expressed milk - I want my baby to still enjoy my breast milk. I don’t want donated breastmilk. Hearing almost all mothers breastfeeding their babies for months and even years makes me feel even worse. Lastly, I miss being pregnant, and the days when I had freedom. I know what I’m feeling now is due to dip in hormones. Also sleep deprivation. I don’t know how other moms juggle everything. My housework and duties as a wife has been put on a back burner for a while. Would be great if experienced mommies or first-time mommies share their experience on how they cope with things. 2019-10-24Feeling very very sad. I did my HSG test this month (which showed tubes were clear), followed by IUI a week later. But in 7 days I felt feverish and severe abdominal bloating. Turns out I’m having an infection, unsure from what cause but my guess it’s from either procedure. Blood collected in my uterus and had to be removed via minor procedures through the cervix. Very traumatising. Anyone has had same experience? We have been TTC for no.2 for more than a year now, and it’s so frustrating that each try ends up in failure. We both have slight issues so my guess is IUI/IVF is our only chance. Worse thing is now I can only “restart” after 3 months as doc recommends resting and have a few normal periods first...

2019-10-24Hi I am feeling very depressed and confused about my parenting technique. My child goes to student care and my hubby doesn’t like her to go there as he perceived that going there her friends gave bad influence to her. My girl is quiet outside but opposite when she is at home with us. She becomes more demanding on the things she wants. My hubby tells me that I need to beat her when she doesn’t obey. I prefer to talk nicely eventually I would raise my voice if she doesn’t listen. I hate the fact that whenever it comes to kids issue we would fight and the whole night will be miserable with my girl crying and my hubby would hurl vulgarities and compares me with other woman. He is a foreigner and would say his country ladies are better than me. I feel very hurt. I feel being verbally abused. I have a happy and peaceful family background with no vulgarities. My parents were loving. It’s unfortunate for me not to have such relationship. His family background is full of jealousy and hurling vulgarities when they are angry. For everything I and my family do he will say we spoil my girl. I feel that too much of discipline will make them feel outside world is better. Why do we need to always beat the child. It’s so miserable I feel. There should be a better way. She is becoming rebellious and rude. I do not want that. What should I do?

I just clean the scar on my baby's face and put some scar treatment. Hopefully there's no infection or permanent scarring.
