2017-05-02Hello mommies and daddies, am bringing my 15mo girl to Australia in June for vacation. What should/must I pack for the flight there? As in hand carry necessities for her? Any checklist to share? I don't allow her to use smartphone nor electronic devices so she is not exposed to these. What do you sugg to keep her occupied on the flight? Aust is very strict with food and stuff. Will they allow a tin of milk? must it strictly be an unopened/sealed tin? Can I bring along her usual snacks such as wafers n puffs (sealed)? 2017-05-03My LO has been sick for one week despite giving the usual medication that he got well with the previous few times. Doc said his condition didn't improve after 1 week n she feels there is a need to start on antibiotics . My LO couldn't sleep well at night too . Sigh:( I really don't wanna to give him antibiotics cos he is only 18 months old but ... sigh :( would u give antibiotics if you were me? :(

2017-05-03Mummies, how many ml does your 6 months plus LO drinks? My is 150ml for 3 hrs sometime 2 hrs. I don't know is it enough for him. I just give my LO whenever he is hungry. He sleeps at 7pm or 8pm. Wake up for milk at 10pm or 11pm. Wake up for milk midnight at 3am or 4am. Wake up for milk in the in the morning at 6am or 7am. 1) He will then wake up at 6am or 7am all the way to 10am for nap 30mins or 2 hrs. His second nap will be at 1pm or 3pm (short nap for 30mins or 1hr). 2) He will go back to sleep after his morning milk. Wake up at 8am or 9am. Then nap at 12pm or 1pm for 30mins of 2 hrs. His second nap will be at 3pm or 4pm (short nap for 30 mins or 1hr) He will bath at 6pm before he sleep at 7pm or 8pm. Is my LO timing okay?

2017-05-03I am a sahm. During pregnancy my weight is 54.4kg. I am a small build women. Before pregnancy my weight is 40kg. After I delivery, Nd all the taking care of my LO my weight reduce to 45kg. It's up and down like 44kg or 45kg and my family member keep saying that I am not eating well, I am too stress taking care of kids. I nv eat this and that. I am so tired hearing all this. I did eat but not like a lot that kind. I not sure is.it true that sahm is more easy to look tired and weight lost faster? Everyone just look at me thinking I only let my son eat nv look after myself. I know they care that's why they say this, but sometime too much of this question makes me want to blow up. Any mummies can teach me what to eat to grow more fats so I won't let my family think I am suffering.. I am tired having to explain to everyone is it I never eat.....
2017-05-03Do childcare Ts raise their voice and scold playgroup toddlers when they do something wrong ? my experience after 2 days with my 18mo at school was that the kids get scolded pretty often e.g. if they don't eat after being persuaded, if they run near dining area, if they don't sit in a chair while waiting for their turn to bath...) thought of withdrawing him but N.Y. child was ok and was engaged when T was teaching did not cry even when I m not there. Every time i visit there s always someone getting scolded. Advice from mummies appreciated..esp if u r a cc T..is this normal?

2017-05-04I am not sure if I am having depression. I am a sahm. My LO is 6months, I am living with my parents waiting for my bto flat to be ready. I easily get frustrated and I hate it when my family member just walk.into my room looking for LO and play. I don't know why. Maybe because they comment too much about my LO like what time he bath? So late haven't bath? Why he still sleeping, why he nv go out walk walk? Very irritating.... I just everyday lock myself inside the room. Will go out shopping center during weekend. So I no need to deal with all the indirect talking. Now I see them I really not feeling very happy and wish that they leave me alone. They say I am having depression, but I clearly know what I am doing. I got fed up when thing is said regarding my LO. Is this depression?

2017-05-04Hi Parents. My girl is currently at Nursery level full day program at My First Skool. I have just received MOE kindergarten letter to notify a placement for her in Jan 2018. Need to response whether to accept the placement by end of May. In dilemma whether to switch. I have selected the AM session at Moe kindergarten so school will start from 8am to 12noon. After which she will be brought to the MOE kindergarten care (kcare) till 7pm. I'm more concerned on the language skill. As our family is mandarin speaking, my girl does not have a good foundation of English. And she's not exposed to reading at home (I'm starting soon) Although now she can speak basic English and able to understand and communicate with current teachers and friends. Which school will be better if my concern is to build up and improve on my girl's English. By the way, she is turning 4 years old end may. Also, any guidance on how I can start at home teaching my girl the languages and interest in reading? I'm really clueless. My work require me to work late even at home. My kids will be asleep by then so it's tough to bond let alone teach. I have a 2 yr old son, very active. During weekend, it's also hard to find time to teach my girl as my son will be disturbing us. Hubby at work so I can't leave my son alone. Any idea how I can teach my girl without having my son disturbing. Sorry for my long post......
2017-05-05Just to rant LO is one yr old and these 2 weeks she has been whining non stop the whole day.. my god.. this is driving me insane. I don't know what is wrong with her. One moment she is smiling and the next she's whining. Not sleeping well, not eating solids well although from the beginning she doesn't take solid well but these 2 weeks was worst. Terrible I should say. She just wants to suck on breast like practically the whole day! And sometimes she bites on the nipple and it's so painful. ? I'm so tired and don't know what to do. Feeling so lost.. tried all methods to soother the baby but seems useless. When she finally sleeps, less thn an hour ltr she wakes up and the whole cycle repeats.

2017-05-05My hormones and sanity is driving each other off the charts. Ever since my girl was born, the mil comes over every single day. And mostly wif her old people logic. I almost always smile and heed those i tink i wan or those tay r logical. Ultimately, i wan to bring up my child, our (husband n myself) way. Then comes solid food. She always say my food tasteless dats y my girl dun wan to eat n keep suggesting dat i use ready made chicken stock. Ive been making my own n it is actually very tasty sans all e salt n sugar. She always tinks dat whenever my baby reject me at times when i feed is bcoz I refuse to let her watch tablet. I let my girl cry it out when she is naughty instead of giving in to her all e time. I let my daughter learn abt nature.. Running thru leaves grass, playing with it. Mil tell her they r all dirty stuff. Now my girl refuse to walk on grass. My mil always tinks she is superior over me n my teachings. I dun reali care how she feel towards me or wat she tells e neighbours how i "abuse" my girl for smacking her palm n letting her cry it out. She gossips wif my maid, i oso let it slide. She always walk into my room n juz look n walk away. I dunno y. All her funny antics, i dun wan to care. How do i get her to back off and let me do wat i do n stop putting me down infront of my child? P. S No point telling e husband.
2017-05-05I have a stroller Donna but when my LO is sitting inside it feel so cramp for him and his leg is outside of the stroller. My lo is 6 months and I brought him another stroller with cost around $399 and my husband does not agree on it but I insisted that we need a bigger stroller for LO as he is grown and need a stroller which can recline all the way back for him to sleep when he is tired. But my LO love to be carry and I used to baby wear him around the shopping mall. He doesn't like to be seated inside the stroller. When we having dinner I have no choice but to place him inside the stroller he will be cranky and cry and my husband will be very angry and said to me let him cry as loud as he wants. He need to be train sitting inside stroller not every time wants you to carry him. Then I will be angry because I quite protective but I still respect his decision as he don't want me to be too tired and wants me to finish my food. He say LO is a guy he has to be slowly train to be independent not always when he cry or cranky we have to attend to him immediately. Whenever LO cries or cranky in shopping malls, all the stranger will keep staring and staring making me feel like I did something wrong. Is so frustrating. My husband said that I brought so expensive stroller I have to train him to seat inside don't waste the money. I feel that I should have think before buying the stroller. Or should I train him to seat inside the stroller? I gave him treats, toys any whatever that can give him I tried. But he wants me to carry.
2017-05-05Actually why can't mother in laws just STFU and mind their own business. Everything they also want to put their nose in. They have daughters too and they never thought that 1 day their daughters could be treated the same way as they treat other people's daughter. And yes, their daughter in law is someone else's flesh and blood. What gives them the right to "bully"?

2017-05-05JTR: When we had our no1, hubby was so hands off and jus buried himself in work. So whenever his hands on friends shared about taking care of their kids, hubby felt so paiseh(deep inside). Thus, no2 he said he wanna be a hands on dad. Ok sounds great right.(i thought so too) Sigh!!! Hubby has NEVER taken care of any baby neither kid before. No2 was his first time. The way he carried and pat no2, makes us(parents, family members including me!!!) worried. Whenever no2 cries, he will carry no2 shake and shake and shake, if not we feel he pat no2 kind of hard on the backside or shoulder. It seems rather rough to baby. Also, every single time he changed no2, he made a mess, either poo until pants and shirts, or poo until bed and cot. We tried to talk to hubby and tried to tell him what to do but he was upset and unhappy about it. He told us he knows what he is doing dont need us to watch him and tell him what to do. He even said that because we are watching at him that caused him to make the blunder. Even my 15yo cousin also find the way hubby handles no2 abit rough. Night time hubby said he wanna look after no2, yet he fell aslp way earlier than any of us(10+ or 11+) and couldnt wake up to take care. A few times caught him falling aslp while feeding no2, worse is sometimes he was standing while feeding and almost "fell" when dozed off. I told him umpteenth times but he gets so personal and angry. He even got angry and irritated whenever no2 cries or even no1 whines. Right now he is having his paternal leaves, daytime mum and i were taking care of the two kids, while hubby either goes out or does his own work. One hand i wanted hubby to contribute more on taking care of kids, the other hand i get so worried seeing the way hubby handles them. If i say or tell hubby, he gets angry, don tell him he also wont change for the better. Arghhh!!! Feels so angry bout it!

Got ask doc b4 when he is 6 mths but the doc say they can't do anything let the head mould itself. But mould till now not so round. Shd I be concerned?
