- 2016-07-18I've always thought I am able to handle 2 children when my 2nd child arrived 2 months ago. Things is not not gg well especially I feel I have been very harsh with my 5 yrs old boy recently. While I am trying very hard to bond with my LO , the elder one will start to speak very loud at home and will go disturb the baby when he is asleep soundly. Recently, teacher told me the elder one hit someone at childcare and when I ask him nicely , he is totally not willing to talk about it. He does not have this kind of record in school before. When I talk to him , he will just immense himself into his fav TV cartoon and would not answer or pay little attention to my words. Sometimes , he is rude to my mum too. I am starting to worry about his character.... At few times , he pushed me to my limits and I could not tolerate and swear in front of him . I know I shouldn't be and feel ashamed at myself .Things seems to change a lot after the LO arrived . In the past I have read many parenting books in order to be the best mum I could. But I feel like I have failed just been a good mum after all and I feel so angry with him that I told him I don't love him anymore. My husband scolded me for my mean words and I really regretted.
At the same time , I really want to give more attention to the little one which he really needs as an infant . I am torn and feel really tired as I also need to spend time with my elder one on his homework as he will be approaching K2 very soon.
I need need some wise advices. Thanks
- 2016-07-18My MIL have been helping me out as I am doing my confinement now, however, at times it can be overbearing especially at night when baby is cranky after his midnight feed. As of today, baby is 18 days old.
One problem about her is every time baby cries, be it in his sleep or crying for milk, she will barge in every single time and kept on opening the door to check every 10-15 minutes. it was fine to me,I was glad that at least someone is helping as husband is tired after a long day.
Two nights ago baby had slight fever, so i told her baby will be cranky and will be needing his feed every hour cause he drinks very little, and I will b up taking care but if I need help I will let her know. however, she still keep checking and opening the door, I understand her concern of worrying that baby's cries will wake everyone up, but me as a mother, would want to comfort my child and be there for him instead of her coming in and insist on taking him away. The next day, she complain to my husband that I seem like I don't want to let go of baby, even after I explained that it because he was not well.
now the husband thinks that I am on the road to post natal depression.
how do I juggle a better time management between MIL & myself?

- 2016-07-20I had applied steroid cream Dermasone Betamethasone, dermasone 0.025 on my 2.5yo daughter's arms and wrists and Betasone Betamethasone 0.1% on the inside of her thighs and back of her knees, moisturised with Cetaphil Restoraderm Body Moisturiser, for a week until the eczema rash had cleared up and the skin was smooth. However, now a week after she had recovered, she's beginning to scratch again. The rashes don't look as angry as before so I'm applying the dermasone 0.025 steroid and moisturiser to the same areas. However, she's still scratching her wrists, arms and back of her knees. In fact, the skin behind her knees have started to flake off. The areas are not red.
Is this the rebound effect of using the steroid creams? Should I be using the stronger steroid cream instead or moisturise the skin more often?

- 2016-07-20My lo is 6.5mth now and she needs to latch to sleep. She still hasn't started sleeping through the night and when she wakes up in the night, she will want to be nursed. I've read that it's perfectly fine to let them latch for comfort until they are ready to wean off, and their ability to self-soothe will change before we know it. But I would like to break this "habit". She doesn't suck her thumb or pacifier and don't use any items that will act as an attachment to her. How can I do it without her crying the house down?
- 2016-07-20I'm nervous about breastfeeding in public. What should I do so that I can nurse my baby comfortably and smoothly?
- 2016-07-20hi Sister Kang, you visited me when I was at MtA early this month after giving birth, baby still having difficulty latching. I have been expressing milk regularly to feed him however I am worried that my supply might not catch up with his demand eventually. what should I do?
- 2016-07-20I'm keen to wean my 2.5yo off the breast because it's getting a bit too much for me. We co-sleep and he latches almost the entire night but mostly for comfort. His younger Brother drinks before sleeping then sleeps through the night so at least I don't have to struggle with two. Any tips to help with the older one?

- 2016-07-20Started introducing bottles to my 15 weeks LO in preparation for the end of my ML. LO will only drink from bottle when asleep and this seems to be so when I latch as well. Her intake from bottle depends on her mood.. ranging from 30ml to 120ml. Really worried about LO's milk intake. Milk supply seems to be dropping too. 15 weeks LO at 7kg.
- 2016-07-20My lo is turning one month old in a few days. He has been feeding very frequently, sometimes every hour or twice every hour. Is he experiencing a growth spurt? This has been ongoing for 2 weeks already. His output and weight gain are good. Just wondering when will this end as it is very tiring to wake up so frequently at night. thanks!

- 2016-07-20Anyone can recommend a good Math tutor for PSLE coaching? It's just around the corner and my son needs help!
- 2016-07-20My baby is 3 weeks old. I am a complete breastfeeding mum. Most of the time I direct latch him & express about twice a day. My maximum stash I'm able to express is at 50ml only when my breasts are fully engorged. Adding onto hand express, may go up to 70ml (at times).
I'll be returning to the workforce in September. I'm really worrying about the supply that I'm expressing will not be enough for him after I return to work.
I know direct latching boosts and power pumping boosts supply. But seems like my manual breast pump is not helping to drain enough supply on my breasts. During some days, I can only express a maximum of 70ml using my pump only. It can't even fill up my milk storage bag. Should I change to an electric pump instead?
- 2016-07-20can someone share with me your suggestion and rating about manduca baby carri

- 2016-07-20I have been using daily therapy moisture physiogel on my 7mth old since i got to know he have eczema.. but recently whenever i use on him especially on the chest near the neck, he will scratch right after i apply... why is it so? Do i have to change the cream?
- 2016-07-20I'm a SAHM..Ever since my #2 arrival, me and my husb always quarrel and quarrel infront of my #1 who is 33mth and also #2 even tho #2 still don't understand... i always told my husb not to quarrel infront if the kids but he always don't want to listen... sometime he even can me names infront of the kids.. i feel because of my husb quarrel infront of my kids, #1 seem to lost respect to me and become bad tempered etc etc.. what should i do? Sometime i feel i want to give up living, give up in this marriage.. what should i do so my kids won't lost their respect to me and won't follow their father footstep?

- 2016-07-21Found that my baby is not that tall mainly is because our genes. Her tall percentile remain 10 but this time drop to 5. Any reason? Is it not enough nutrient? My breast milk not enough nutrient for her stage now? She is 9 month old now. She only drink 100ml EBM every 3 hours and 3 times solids in between during daytime. But If I direct latch her when I back from work, she will drink more.. every 2-2.30hour till morning. Any advise? She is only 7.4kg and 65cm now. I'm more concern about her tall percentile dropped. Please help. thx.
- 2016-07-21Should I intro flash card to my baby? Does it really help? Some articles claim that the ability of photographic memory (right brain) is temporary. As they get older the left brain will develop gradually. It is better to bond with kids with others activities to have less-stressful atmosphere. And it might have conflict as right and left brain manage different skills' sector. Right brain mostly art and left brain mostly numbers, languages. Right brain should not override. Any parents here can prove that flash cards can help develop the child's cognitive development? thanks.
- 2016-07-21I was having a problem with latching at first, feeling pains on the nipples as I seem to have short nipples. But now, after using nipple shields, my baby girl can latch pretty ok. I guess it's because the shields are similar to the medela bottle teats that she suckle well and quick from during the times when I could not latch her at first. I still hope to latch her without the shields. At times when I tried to latch her without the shields, she would hesitate and reject, otherwise somehow I will lose the latch as I may feel somewhat painful or see that she is not suckling with her mouth wide enough (incorrect latch). What should I do?
Another question, lately when I latch my baby, she seem to wet the towel that I put underneath my boobs. Very wet. I wonder if she is drinking the milk or much of the milk is wasted? Do mummies put towel underneath during latch?
My lo is coming to 5 weeks. I still kind of struggle with latching. Had to hold on to the U-hold or C-hold throughout the latch so she could suckle well.
Am thinking of starting to practise nursing with nursing cover so I can do so when I bring her out. Really wonder how to do so without the pillows and towels that I'm used to having when I nurse her on my bed.
- 2016-07-21do you use bottom balm or barrier cream for babies to prevent nappy rash? which one is better for their delicate skin?
- 2016-07-21I am a ebm mom and I pump 8 times a day at interval of 3hrs round the clock @ 80-100 ml each time, recently my supply have been up and down and twice I couldn't keep up with his demand and supplement with formula. My mother in law insist that my breast milk Is going to deplete and want me to switch to formula totally which I am against as baby is only 3 weeks old. How do I increase my supplies, I am currently taking fenugreek (twice a day at 2 capsules each time) and fish oil (once a day at 2 capsules each time).
my mother in law also insist that each time baby cries it indicates that he is hungry and tend to force feed or waste my breast milk as it will be thrown away if he can't finish it.

- 2016-07-21I cant rock my baby sleep anymore. While she is 3-5 months she is ok we rock her and sing to her to sleep. She is 9 month old now and not using pacifier. Every night I must need to latch her until sleep. Few times wake up in the midnight I need to latch her also. Keep waking up at night is not good for development too. I tried to rock her sleep but she will be fussy and need to latch. If my hubby rock her she will wake up and look for me even in the midnight. Too tiring! help!
- 2016-07-21Hi mummies any sleep training tips to share? I don't wish my boobs to be sleeping props. Found that some baby sleep Trainers in Singapore are very expensive. Can't afford that. Tried singing, rocking.. My supply is not enough for tanking her before she sleeps. Supply is 100-120ml every 3 hours. My baby refuse to use pacifier. She is 9 month old now. Any idea? TIA.
- 2016-07-21Can a child be strong in more than 1 multiple intelligences?

- 2016-07-22I am a contract staff in a reputable company . But recently , boss told me I will not be recontract due to change of management and to cut cost as market was bad. That would means I will be out of job after my maternity end.I feel this is unfair as before I give birth , manager informed me just 1 week before maternity leaves to pass everything to newly hired person on board. And I have to teach this person ( who is a perm staff )within few days .And now it seems due to market demands drop which he claims, has to terminate my contract. I need the job to support the family. Did any of you encounter same situation as me? Is there any regulation to protect contract job mother ?I need some advice on how to go about it. And once I lose my job, it means my elder child will not enjoy govt subsidize on child care fee for working mother.. I'm so lost...

- 2016-07-22What do you think about redshirting your child for primary school? Do I have the option of delaying my child's primary school education for a year (i.e. starting primary sch at age of 8)?
- 2016-07-23I am a contract staff in a reputable company. I was pregnant during the time with the company. However, boss just informed me that company will not renew my contract due to a change in management and to to cut cost. But I feel this is a good excuse that company like to use. Because just 1 week before I go for maternity leave, the boss inform me instead of getting my colleague to cover me, he had employed a new perm staff that I need to hand over my work. The handover was very rush during that time as I have only 3 days to finish the training. If it was a cut cost reason, why did he employ a new perm staff to cover me?And now it seems like I am an additional burden to the company. Right now I will be out of job when my maternity leaves end in 2 months' time. This is my 2nd baby and my family will have financial problems once I am out of job. And furthermore, my elder child will not enjoy govt subsidies for childcare anymore. Any mummies with the same situation? Is there any law to protect mummy for contract job? I am at a loss now.

Reason my eldest is sick for so long is cos I let her sleep in bed all day long, which is not true at all.
Makes me feel so crappy and lousy.

- 2016-07-23Parents with 2 kids (2yo and newborn) that require 2 car seats at the back of the car and needs to bring maid out at times, did you all squeeze into a saloon car or get a 7 seater? Based on #1 child's experience, mother end up to be the one sitting behind and the maid sits in front. Just curious how Pple handle this kind of situation.
