Disagreement on confinement matter between me and my husband

Is it really mandatory to follow the confinement requirements? Most of my friends who are moms mentioned that must follow, if not there will be side effects etc Example for few: Friends(F): Using chinese medicine to clean up, etc Husband(H): Can shower by using water heater. Wash hands using tap water F: Cannot cold/plain water, either drink hot milk/milo or red dates logan H: Can drink cold water
