Breast pump parts fridge hack

Hello mummies, Heard about fridge hack for breast pump parts where you’ll keep the pump parts in a zip lock and place them in the fridge, and only wash and sterilise them at the end of the day. So, do i need to rinse off the residue before keeping or no need? Or rinse with water before my next use? TIA!
